  1. I've been paying attention in class. Car booked in for next Wednesday anyway with me saying to them that it certainly sounds like a wheel bearing.
  2. Squeeky noise coming from right rear, increases in pitch/intensity at higher speeds, and when turning right (load on the left side of the car). Have tried a couple of big stops in case it was the brakes binding/rubbing etc. Noise also goes away when the car cools down, then starts up again when its warmed up. Have also had an ABS warning light flash up a few times. I'm thinking wheel bearing. Any offers on that?
  3. Well done Billy. Representing Team Buckfast to the fullest.
  4. Looks very potent Gus. Hopefully see this beastie on track at some point. Should perform quite nicely.
  5. My clutch was doing that when it was ready to give up. How many miles has the car done and is it the original clutch?
  6. I'll not shoot you down Cal, but I did post this - http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/thread/941237.aspx - a wee while ago. []
  7. I've got a full set in the display box plus at least one spare of every card. Except the trackday at fiorano card. Swines.
  8. JC, not much to say mate other than well done on what you've achieved so far. You're a credit to the club and whoever takes over has some big shoes to fill. Well maybe not so big, wee man []
  9. Catchy name Andy. Makes a lot of sense too []
  10. Think I've saw this car outside the station in Motherwell a few times.
  11. You've got the one in Eaglesham whos name I completely forget too.
  12. Nice one George. I couldn't see all the trick bits from your photos. Plus I can't usually tell my arse from my elbow, never mind one engine from another.
  13. Decat the uppipe and then get it mapped ed. Your injectors will cope fine, mine are.
  14. It doesn't look nearly exotic enough to be from F1. I'm going to agree with Colin - the Dodge V10 as found in the Viper. Looks simple enough to be that.
  15. Smashing run out tonight. Great turnout, new faces, old faces, faces that joined in along the way. I took a wee detour with someone through the Tunnel as the M8 was shut, but not sure who it was,
  16. Magic news Cal. Get your sleep in now mate and find a stockist of SWRT baby-gros. And to you too Billy. You barely look old enough to be a dad mate []
  17. JC, I'm a gentle soul despite being a big lad [] Those clips looks very nice though, will keep them in mind. Gave the car a good inspection in the daylight last night and everything looks ok. Got my mate Paul to have a wee look over it and he agreed that everything looked sorted. I gave the clips a wee turn with a socket, but not too much, then took the car out for a proper blast. Was up at full boost in all the gears and did some full on racing gear changes without any hiccups so I think everything is good again. But I'll bring the tools along tonight to the glasgow meet just in case.
  18. G. Mac's over 350 on the standard turbo. Running a methanol mix now though.
  19. I'm going to give a look over again tonight Peter, and get my sockets out and check the Jubilee clips again as I should get more torque on them with the sockets than with a screw driver. Obviously the noise when it happened was pretty mad as 1.4bar of air pressure suddenly became nothing but the throttle was wide open. Some V-Power made a hasty exit out the back door.
  20. I have the Samco IC hose fitted to the car. Has been on for a wee while now, but last night I was heading out of Larkhall towards J7 of the M74, switched the car from low boost to high boost and the part of the hose that is connected to I think the turbo's output managed to blow itself completely free when I hit, or overshot target boost (1.5bar is showing on the defis, so not a lot more than my target boost anyway). I obviosuly lost power as the cylinders were flooded with too much fuel and not enough air but managed to creep the car about 1/4 of a mile to somewhere safe to stop. I diagnosed the problem pretty quickly but had to wait on someone bringing me tools at half 11 last night and then had to take the intercooler off to get everything reseated. I'm sure most of you are aware I'm about as useful with a spanner as Stevie Wonder is at I spy, but with a bit of help from my old man who brought the tools and from recalling Spooks taking my IC off to try and fit one of my defi sensors I managed to get it on with only a few hiccups. I drove the car home off boost most of the way, but once I was nearly home fed in the power and I've taken it up to half a bar last night and then again this morning and it seems alright. But obviously slightly concerned that somethings gone wrong, is there any known issues with these hoses? I've tightened all the Jubilee clips with a screw driver and everything looks secure and well seated, but a bit reluctant to really give the car some serious stick at the moment, so if any of the Glasgow meet regulars care to give the car a quick check over on Thursday night that would be magic.
  21. All technical innovation is governed by one thing and one thing only - pornography. Think about it. You boys and your crazy ways too.
  22. Lovely John. I have the scott lowe one fitted to my car.
  23. There was a couple of other things that floated my particular boat. If we go beyond the looks, which after seeing the black one earlier in the week and then yesterday's speculated STI I'm actually growing to appreciate, then we need to look at what will make it worthy of being called "Impreza". It would appear that it is going to handle, and if the 6 pot brembos make it in then it'll sure as hell stop. And we know that the flat four has plenty of go. So ability wise it certainly looks like it's going to stack up as a worthy successor to the STI.
  24. http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?se...article_id=5213 All speculation, but the photoshop work to "STI" the WRX is making me nod with appreciation.
  25. Col, it was me that was looking for the blade pics. The car belongs to a mate of mine who I work with. He's a bit "brave" when it comes to driving it. Him and I rebuilt the carbs on it on good friday to try and cure a mid-range stutter but it's resulted in it being down on power yesterday and an estimated 10mph down on top speed on the straights. But it's still an absolute riot to sit in, especially with an open face helmet and getting a mouthful of flies.
