I've realised all week why I hate the M8 with a passion. 6 foot is not adequate distance between cars, and 55mph is not the speed limit. Have enjoyed switching between low and high boost on the fly for some overtakes though []

Davie, I've not taken my full downpipe and cat pipe assembly apart yet, so it might be that it needs gaskets. I'm not really sure. They should be easy enough to get too. I'll get into the garage tomorrow and try and take it apart and let you know what condition everything is in. If you've got a ramp then it should be easy to fit it as it fits onto the end of the downpipe which is in an accessible place. I watched the guys at kwik fit do my centre section and that in about 15 minutes tops. I'm more than happy to let you try it and if it's al kosher pay me afterwards. I certainly got a wee bit of popping with it. Not as much as I do now with a full decat of course [] I ran it on the rex for a while as I said and the car was on the rolling pins at dastek with perfectly fine AFRs and no CELs ever popped up.

Robert, you're more than welcome to have a wee go in my car to see what the ride is like. It's stiffer than the prodrives without question, but anyone that's been in the car with me will tell you that it holds the road well. Even the squirrel says it holds the road well, for a big girl []

Davie, was just heading back from a 3 hour exam this morning so was maybe trying to enjoy myself on the way home. So I didn't see you. Oh then I needed petrol so had to dive up to Bellshill. If I was cutting off then I might not have been "on it" and you wouldn't have experienced the full on ROAR that my car now produces. I noticed the STI in the distance as I was coming along the A8 and was trying to catch up but the road was full of dithering tubes.

Might there be a "C" in the full model name JC?

lol, John, your missus obviously doesn't read the forums. Alan, I parked on a street outside the Stand comedy club in Glasgow 10 minutes before the parking permit time ended. Did a quick scout around and couldn't see any of the wee hitlers. Came back out a few hours later to find one had ticketed me 3 minutes before it ended. I only paid £30 though as it was half price for early payment.

Alan, very interesting. I thought one of the reasons they went to the 2.5 was because they could get the same power with less emissions. Oh well, wrong again. £400 is a ****ing joke.

I'm running S-Techs. The ride is firmer than my aunt's home baking, and I've eaten rocks that were softer than her cakes. Teins lower the car 35mm front and 30mm rear I think, where as the prodrives are 25/20.

Long story short - My car is an 05WRX Euro Import, full 3 year pan-european warranty which I have claimed on at a UK dealer. Spec was almost UK - seats were different (better) and no alarm. Had alarm and tracker installed when I bought the car. Insurance prices are no different through Keith Michaels. Servicing intervals are very slightly shorter, but I'm not fussed as mine is serviced/modded more regularly anyway! If you're thinking of getting one just check the warranty situation is still the same but everything else should be fine. BUT! Check the UK dealers just now for the excellent Spec D sti prices! I'd be in there like swimwear if I had the cash.

STIs are G, WRX are F. Officially that is. Some of us are maybe ...... less environmentally friendly? Teeeheeeeheee.

Is that at the wheels or at the crank? If you've fitted dodgy mods then it might just need everything properly setup. Fuelling etc.
