  1. John, with your setup the gasses that bypass the impeller via the wastegate and end up in the same downpipe. If you look at this one I believe you can see the large opening for the gasses coming through the impeller, and the smaller one for the wastegate: With an external wastegate you can run a second exhuast pipe where the gasses that bypass will exit, or you can plumb it back into your existing setup.
  2. I thought the chirpy chirpy was because they were not running blow off valves, and that said noise was actually the turbo cutting through the compressed air that had no where to go?
  3. Frank, I hope you got that before I removed it. We'll not be allowing publicity for a website they are running whilst Grant has been wronged.
  4. It's on the GT40R fog mount project on NASIOC - http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1106146 So that is a twin scroll I think.
  5. Nope. Single turbo. BIIIIG Turbo though.
  6. I'll have a go with some questions as well then: I've seen a couple of project cars running 2 wastegates. Are there benefits of doing this?
  7. It would be like giving Michael Jordan a pair of matchstick (anyone remember them?) trainers and sending him out to play basketball. He wants Nikes with his wee logo on them. Please don't deprive Michael of the trainers he duly deserves.
  8. Ah the giant turbo picture. It's been a while since that one's been posted.
  9. I didn't think it would slow you down somehow John!
  10. Aye, the inch thick layer of flies on the front of mine is testament to that!
  11. I'll be down at Kames for the unveilling I hope. It's looking great though John. The question is - with a new shiny race car will you be less commited for fear of breaking it?
  12. Looking good. I gave mine the other kind of loving - Down to Moffat, Moffat to St. Mary's Loch, St. Mary's Loch to Peebles via Innerleithen, Peebles to home again. Good roads. Good roads indeed.
  13. My best mate from Primary school now lives in Canada and is a pilot. I know how little attention he used to pay when walking or cycling never mind flying a plane! So they'll let anyone fix them and fly then?
  14. I'd say get the sticker that goes on the bonnet for a plate. Keep it full size and hope for the best. Or paint it on the IC?????? Looking good though!
  15. It's the Coupé he has - http://www.citroen.co.uk/new-cars/citroen-...specifications/ - so the max braked towing weight on the newer 2.0 is 1100. Need to see what it is on the older engine with less guts. The trailer certainly is braked (some might say broken!) though.
  16. John, he got a covered trailer and I think the combined weight of that and the westie would take the towed weight up to about 1000kg. So might put it outside the limits for towing? It's the old 2 litre petrol engine in the C4 he has so it's only the 130bhp version, not the newer 180.
  17. John, can we send Neil to Fintry and everyone else to Fintray? Anyway, he's got either his Citroen C4 or his wife's Civic Type R. So neither of them are really suitable for towing.
  18. That it is Neil. He has a trailer but no tow car yet
  19. I'll tell him to give them a call. Don't see anything on their website about allowing things to be towed. Some hirers don't allow that.
  20. Trying to help my mate out as he's looking to hire a car or a van for towing the race car up north for a weekend. Anyone know anywhere that can do such a thing? cheers!
  21. It's hard to tell John. You're not often on the middle pedal!
  22. Jim, I bet they yokos on the new rims (which are stunning btw) could be exciting in the scottish winter!
