  1. Lower resale - probably, but you paid £4K less for it in the first place, don't be so cheeky and think you'll get the same back for it. Higher insurance - definitely not, Gary at Keith Michaels said that there wasn't a problem with mine as it was to UK spec as it had the alarm etc. Elephant had no probs before either. P/X, not sure. I'm guessing if they want a sale bad enough they'll take anything.
  2. Mine was december 04, so you should be fine.
  3. If your car was bought after Malta joined the EU it's 3 years. Otherwise it's a 1 year motorpoint only warranty. I think they joined the EU in May 04.
  4. Any Subaru sourced from motorpoint will come with the standard 3 year pan european warranty assuming it was sourced within the EU. Any dealer telling you otherwise is talking nonsense. There was some issues with them last year but it all got sorted and everything is fine. Just remember when you buy the car and get the documentation through from Subaru of Malta that you then contact Subaru UK and register the car with them so that they are aware of its existence and can register it with the dealer network. I've had my malteser for 18 months now and got new rear shocks done under warranty in June without issue. Would buy from Motorpoint again as I quite liked their no-fuss approach. No haggling, no free mats and a tank of petrol, here's what it costs, take it or leave it. Although do try a local dealer and see if you can haggle them down, plus they will give you more for any trade in, or they should anyway. Mine is serviced to the maltese numbers - 1K, 9K, 19K, 28K, 38K. It goes up in 9 then 10 then 9 then 10 etc. etc. I get most of my servicing at a specialist rather than a main dealer too. No probs doing that for the warranty work.
  5. Peter, will email the guy and ask if he can do a good deal on the postage. []
  6. Allegedly the brembos new are a grand for the calipers alone. A used set including discs and pads can be had for £400 on ebay at the moment. How long would the pads and discs last - fair question. Likely another £400 would be shelled out within the not too distant future to replace the discs and pads, or at least £150ish for Pads. Plus the cost of spacers too obviously. Godspeed kit - £650 with new discs and pads. Wilwood GB on SN - £900.
  7. Welcome to the site. I didn't plan on modifying mine to keep the warranty sweet. Held true for all of a month I think. A wee backbox here, a set of springs there. Enjoy the forum and the inevitable mod ideas you'll find.
  8. Well out of my league at that price [] I'd have to put the brakes on eating and buying petrol for the next few months. Excuse the pun.
  9. Peter, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...DME:B:FSEL:US:1 - limited edition black one would look sweet with the Subaru plastic fantastic interior. That's the seller I was mentioning too. Usually well priced. I'm wanting the defi controller v2 to replace the v1 STI one I have as I want the longer playback etc. and that's the cheapest I think. Plus I fancy one of the STI radiator caps []
  10. Peter, got a couple of ebay sources saved in my ebay favourite shops. Will check them at lunch (I have actual work to be doing this morning!) and get back to you. There's a seller called 5400rpm and they're usually a decent price with that one. Plus if you're going to order then I might want a couple of wee things and we could go halfers on the postage if yer interested?
  11. It really is. I went with another 5 people from work and we all loved it. Saw Danny Bhoy last year. He was very good indeed.
  12. Also interested out of (morbid) curiosity. Willky, I see your point(s). If you too can rustle me up APs at a price that wouldn't frighten his royal higness Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Al-Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Almarhum Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien the Sultan of Brunei then I will consider them.
  13. I thought Gordon bought a BMW. That looks more like a ZX.
  14. Col, that looks properly mental. No way you'd get me taking part in something like that unless it was genuine racing.
  15. If you go to the pleasance at lunch time you cna have lunch with Neil and Christine Hamilton. Hecking isn't just allowed, it is the law!
  16. Not a problem. I'm hoping to get a couple of wee mods fitted before Saturday too. Would be rude not to after all.
  17. Bathe before the kinky bridge for 8ish anyone? I'll be topping up on rocket fuel at Old Inns seeing as my old local is shut now.
  18. I can barely contain myself. Itching to get back out on track. DRIVIN. 1. ScOObarOO 2. st3ph3n SPECTATING. 1.
  19. There's a GB on a wilwood kit on SN just now actually. Maybe by the time I need brakes it'll still be on and I can consider. Those calipers look like the same ones, but by the time discs and pads etc. are added it's not cheap!
  20. The tattoo is booked solid from about February. Not a good chance of getting in to that.
  21. Top Gun. It's on at C on Chamber Street at 5pm. Only £8.50 to get in and if you like top gun the movie you'll love it. Other than that go and see Rich Hall or Frankie Boyle. Both excellent.
  22. Tart status is tremendously important. I'm of a similar mindset with regards to doing things once. Although AP is out of my price range by a distance, and I think would possibly be wasted on a car that has a goal of 300bhp. The godspeed kit is £600 including discs and pads. A decent set of normal discs and pads is going to skin me ~ £300. The brembos - not sure. I have some thinking to do.
  23. I wouldn't do something that would be unsafe, so if longer studs were required I'd probably go for some. It's just a thought for the moment. Brembos, the godspeed kit or just uprating the discs are all options for when the time comes. But the brembos will require spacers or new wheels.
  24. Thinking about bigger brakes when my discs need replaced (soon!) I'm reluctant to shell out for STI wheels if I go for brembos as I have 2 sets of perfectly good WRX wheels - road and track. So do spacers actually work? Part of me says they're a recipe for disaster, but I don't know why I think that.
