Hi Dave, yeah I'm good thanks. Yep, P1 still keeping me smiling, picked up a few bits for it recently to make it completely standard. The .net meets are on a Tuesday night at 7 down at the pub/ beefeater place next to Dundee airport. It's usually just for a blether and something to eat, can't ever remember there being any runs. I know there is sometimes a bit of beef between the different forums, but everyone is very friendly, and there's a good percentage of folk that used to be regular posters on here, Ciaran, Ginger Chris, Blake, the two Craig's and myself.

Hasn't been a Tayside meet from SIDC in ages mate. I think most people got fed up waiting for something to be organised that they jumped shipped and attend the ss.net Tayside meet instead. It tends to be well attended, as is usually near the end of the month.

Worst - selling my classic and buying a Hawkeye WRX - how stupid ! Best - buying a P1

Thanks mate.

Glyn - BallaSTIc used to organise them, but not been one in a while.

I bought a set for my old Hawkeye and they were a vast improvement over the standard clunky Subaru ones, worth the money but I didnt keep the Hawk long so cant say what they are like over a longer period of time, had them on the car for about 3 months before I went old skool again.

Ciaran mate.... you dont know what a complete car is... judging by all the bits you have sitting around - Craig tells me you could have at least three imprezas built by now.
-
My P1 is already mint you cheeky bugger... its yours that needs all the work. By the time I get a refund from the insurance, less than 500 quid and a day and a half of my time for some web work. I was originally going down the cheepy Fiesta/Fiat route, but getting something 4wd for winter was more appealing.

Bought this K reg over the weekend as a winter runner, mechanically sound but bodywork is rough as... Screen Shot 2012-11-03 at 20.50.49 by ignitionlab, on Flickr P1 is now tucked away until the spring.

Andy Forrest also does mapping in conjunction with RA Motorsport in Perth, less of a journey but the same mapping service from Andy. Same price as well. According to RA they have two slots left at the end of the month - have a look at their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/RA-Motorsport-Developments/112824655397846?fref=ts

Hi Kev, Sorry to here about the car, I recently bought a P1 and have it insured for £8.5k and was told that I would get market value if anything was to happen with it, the car said that they based the value of any payout would be based on finding a car with a similar mileage, spec - he said that they used prices on autotrader. I would be looking around to see what they are going for and provide proof that 4k is just having a laugh. Chris

Cheers folks, picked it up today, extremely pleased with my choice and glad I switched back. Some pics for you all - although I ran out of time and didn't manage to get it washed, however time permitting I plan to wash, clay and wax this weekend.
-
Picking this up tomorrow... Will stick up the full spec later, it also has a rather tasty interior.

Burning the midnight oil ciaran ? I touch goats.

No, another one on Pistonheads - white one with mega low mileage - as usual though, fecking miles away from me.
-
Project idea - scrapped, so on the cards so far we have: 1. P1 - waiting to hear back from current owner 2. v4 sti classic 3. JDM Blobeye ( yeah, I know its not a classic but its at the same sort of money as a P1)
-
no worries, thanks for taking the time to reply. Anyone else slightly closer able to help a fellow SIDC'r? Chris.
-
Yeah, I knew it wasn't to be with the Hawk, even after fitting the coilovers and alk I still found it a bit of a barge. Luckily I managed to recoup what I had sunk into it apart from the labour costs from RA, so I feel pretty pleased about that. I stopped modifying it at just the right point.

Hello Devons peeps, I wondered if anyone who is mechanically competent would be able to have a look at a car which in in your area. If you think you might be able to help me out, could you possibly send me a PM or email me at chris.ignitionlab@gmail.com Car in question is located in Holsworthy. Many Thanks Chris.

cheers folks, I know its going to be more of an uphill struggle than last time to find a good one but fingers crossed something will fall into place. Three options at the moment: 1 - Project car, cheaper to start with but a bit of a money pit - not sure what yet but a special edition. 2 - Mint P1 - would make me happy straight out of the box 3 - Something in-between - nice RB5 on Pistonheads in North Scotland, but guy wants strong money for it, its almost Type R money.
