Hey folks, Non scooby owner at the moment but have seen a few adverts online for Graham Walker Ltd. Just wondering if anyone has had any recent dealings with them ? Im looking about at 54/55 plate STi's at the moment and Graham Walker seems to have quite a few in stock. Im based up in NE Scotland but would be prepared to travel for the right car. Would be a straight buy, no trade in. Opinions good or bad please... Cheers Chris.

That might be the way I go to be honest, purely cos of finances - although I did spy a hawkeye from an indy dealer for the price of decent blob. Not been to or contacted any other Scottish dealers yet apart from Ecosse, seen quite a few nice looking blobs from Graham Walker Ltd, fair trek from me though. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/adv...amp;logcode=emf or the black one with the straight thru milltek, for £11994. ... burble is important...

06 that is now gone was certainly on target, but Ive seen better blobs with less mileage advertised on Autotrader. 47k on a 54plate scoob seems rather high for the money they are asking. Autoecosse do seem nice enough, the 07 plate was well priced I thought, if you have that sort of money.
-
Cheers for that info, thanks for taking the time to list all the blob spec and the difference between them and the hawkeye. I think it will all boil down to budget and the Mrs.

Those rims look awesome

Hi Melly, Cheers for the offer, fingers crossed Im planning a buy in mid to late Feb, I was going to enquire with you about your car earlier but didnt want to dick you about by coming to view it but not being in the position to buy. Your car has a great spec, and I will get in touch when Im in the position if you still have it. Chris

Yep, but Im only looking at the moment, by the time I get round to buying this will no doubt have been sold. Nice price and spec though.

Been down to AutoEcosse this morning and had a look at whats on offer, a 54 plate blob or a 57 hawkeye. They were showing a 06 hawkeye on the web but it was gone. Anyways, I looked round both and there wasnt much to tell them apart really, pretty much the same interior wise. I was drawn more to the hawkeye though, maybe it was just because the blob was looking a bit tatty inside, and already having a 54 plate it seemed a lot of money to be buying a 6 year old car. Didnt ask for a drive either as Im not quite in the position to buy anyways, Nice guys at AutoEcosse though, and they had a nice range including a very tasty looking WRX-S hatch in black that caught my eye.... Hadnt really though of the tax in monthly terms, £16 just means one less night out a month. Plus on my searching a found a 06plate for 14k, and a 56plate for 12k both with similar mileage, buying the 56 saves 2k which is nearly 5 years worth of road tax and less interest to pay back on a loan. Hawkeye all the way...... Russell, you got any pics ? And whats the difference on the Spec D ??? Now all I need to do is convince the mrs....

Cheers mate, I think thats the website I originally saw the info on. Maybe I should send this link onto the two independant dealers that told me otherwise today..
-
Out if interest, do you know what the date of registration has to be for the lower tax band, Ive been looking into it again this afternoon but Im non the clearer. The Hawkeye comes with the Xenons which is swinging it for me at the moment, Im going to look at both tomorrow as the weather is supposed to be quite fine, then I will have a better idea.
-
Tax aside, Im liking the Hawkeye, ideally a 55 plate before the tax hike would be fantastic, but I dont think Im going to find one at the mileage/price from a proper dealer, although I have seen some nice ones going on here but wasnt really in the position to buy. I may end up with a blobeye though as Im putting some cash towards it and the rest on a loan, easier on the pocket in the long run. Standard to begin with, then look at some changes later on. Insurance wise, they are pretty much the same, It was approx 45 quid difference when I did a quick quote through directline just to get a ball park.
-
Funny you should mention that, I passed there yesterday but didnt have time to stop, heading over that way again on friday, but from the website they look a tad expensive. the blob is 54 plate £11.5k with 48k on the clock, hawkeye is 06 plate £14.5 with 38k - although Im thinking there would be some sort of warranty being from an actual dealer.

Hi Folks, As most of you might have noticed Im not actually a Subaru owner, however having just paid off the family Golf, Im looking to get myself a Saloon Impreza. Im keen to get a newer Hawkeye model, however Im not so keen on the £400 road tax, (Mrs would go spare). From looking on the forum and doing a bit of research I see the 55 plate hawkeyes are cheaper on tax front. If I was to go for a Hawkeye my budget would be between 12-14k, and I would be looking at something with a mileage of 40k or less. Is that a reasonable budget for a 55 plate hawkeye with that sort of mileage ? Alternatively, I wouldn't mind a Blobeye as I have noticed that there seems to be quite a few on autotrader around the 11k range with mileage around the 30/35k. I guess my overall question is, is it worth paying a little more to get the hawkeye or save some cash and go for the older blobeye? Any thoughts or views will be much appreciated, Cheers Chris.

Cheers for clearing that up. Ive been past Autoecosse a few times as its only a couple of miles from my house, but never actually had a chance to stop and look as the mrs isnt keen on me looking for one I just thought I would look in on T&C since I was in area on Saturday. My neighbour bought his STi from Autoecosse and he has nothing but good comments about them. I think they sourced his for him.

Was just wondering if Town and County still do Subaru in Aberdeen ? Was up there at the weekend and the old showroom was a sales room for some kitchen place, having just looked on the website it says they no longer sell new and it only mentions aftersales such as serving etc, no 2nd hand dealings then ?? Chris.

<< << Nowt wrong with Seat's mate. Used to work for a chain of dealerships and used to get a new car every few weeks to stick some miles on so they could sell it as an ex-dem. They gave me a Cordoba 1.9TDi - flew like sh** off the proverbial. Only time in my life I've ever been pulled by a cop was in that and that's just cause he was solo and on an ego trip. Gotta love Scots Law - couldn't do me on his ownsome >> Hence why the foot goes down a couple of extra notches as you hit gretna on the way north. Ovv, you'll get a nice Euro Import for Leon money. You'd need to sell the Leon privately though as these places tend to offer poor trade-ins. I got my car from Motorpoint in Glasgow and had no troubles. Although you will get free servicing and PPP on a new UK car right now if you shop at the right dealer. >> Cant afford a brand new one though - some good prices on the motorpoint website though - worth a looky.

Well Im currently a student at the mo, so cash is rather tight. Its easy enought to top up my loan with AA and take an extra year to pay it, however Ive just taken a student loan and put it straight into a saving account so maybe next year, unless I get my own way in the next few weeks. Anybody wanna buy a SEAT Leon ??
-
Pie and Beans for wedding, classy - just like the boy from Still Game Ive go my heart set on a UK300 just now, it just appeals to me for some reason. Despressed looking at Imprezas and not have the cash or the bottle to buy one
-
Well I did threaten her by saying that I wouldnt marry her in October unless she agreed to buying me one. Annoying cos Ive been looking thru the web all night for a UK300, found a nice one - she takes an interest until the price comes up and then I get an ear bashing, Maybe I should just wait til she goes on her hen night down south, and trade the Leon in - a nice wee wedding present to myself.
-
I enjoyed myself so much, didnt wanna hand back the keys to Scott when I collected the Leon. Ach, Leon is a good car - its the 1.8 Turbo I got so it shifts when it wants to, but handles nowhere near as good as the Scoob. Leon felt like it was sitting still on the drive home compared to the Scoob. Only complaint on the scoob was the interior was rather bland, dull grey plastic everywhere - not nice. surely there must be some nice bling parts to liven it up. Chris
-
Town & County Aberdeen gave me a rather nice 54 plate WRX as a courtesy car today whilst my Leon was being serviced. Well Impressed with both power and handling, I treated today like one big test drive, round the backroads to Westhill and then down the dualer to Stonehaven. Now all I gotta do is convince the missus to let me get a UK300 and Im sorted. So anyone wanna buy a SEAT Leon Chris
