  1. Yes mate you will need the disk off, not a hard job, remove the caliper, you may need to back off the hadbrake adjusters, there is a rubber gromet at the bottom of back plate, remove this then the adjuster is behind, it's like a castealated (sp) wheel, can be turned with a screwdriver, if you shine a a torch through the hole left behind he gromet you'll see what I mean Once the disk is removed it's just a matter of checking all pivots are free and clean, copper grease is your friend here on all pivots and the back plate where the shoes move. Take care when putting back together, the fault here is quite common on the rebuild http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=123813
  2. Have you checked to see if your gallery space is full? I know I had trouble with attachments & had to clear a few the other week
  3. Ours are slightly worn on the outside, having it 4 wheel aligned at service, got just over 8,000 miles on the clock, but a Euro import, so needs it's service at 9k It's not good this should be checked prior to delivery, but they never do, then charge to put right & there's no way you can prove it hasn't happened over bumps in the road etc due to normal usage Mind a proper 4 wheel alignment setup can make a huge difference to the handling, well worth doing
  4. Hi mate Oil pressure fits under altenator where original oil pressure switch is located, you will need an adaptor to fit both original sender & new in same place Oil temp fits in block near cylinder number 3, think it's an 8mm allen key to remove the bung, then an adaptor needed. to fit new sender It's a bit fiddly, but not too bad a diy job, need some PTFE tape round sensors & adaptors
  5. Another tip, if buying a classic, try and buy before the "Y" plate, will save on the higher road tax band
  6. OK weeend drivers car, early shape, I'd be looking at a P1 or a Type R both 2 doors, P1 UK special edition, type R Jap spec car Be careful & remember it's a buyers market out there There are a lot of very used classic Scoobies about, there are also a lot ofvery nice examples May be worth a look here for more information http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php/SidcFaq/SidcFaq Any more questions just ask away & good luck with the search
  7. LOL, not keen on the huge mouth, but if Al has it fitted we can give an honest opinion
  8. Sorry prefer the hatch, but may be a touch biased Now if they brought out a 3 door hatch
  9. Hi & welcome, looks a very clean original example at a good price to me, only changes to standard look to be gear knob & CD changer & they are both a bit of a bonus Re the tax, unfortunatly if you want that shape or newer there's no way round it I'm afraid, earliest of that shape would be a "Y" plate & that's expensive road tax Think it's well worth looking at, just make sure of all the usual things really, no signs of previous accident damage, service history is as stated, warranty seems a touch short, but then car seems well priced if it's as original as it looks Keep us posted & good luck with the search
  10. Hi & welcome Yep could be opening a can of worms, many differing opinions, but we all love our Scoobies in different ways & to be honest there is no wrong answer A few questions How do you intend to use the car, daily driver, weekend toy, long distance, short distance, rough budget to work on, do you have a specific shape or model in mind? Apologies for all the questions but will give us a better idea of your wish list
  11. Well done Lewis, Ron & McLaren, very well deserved Must admit Gloc slowing down did seem excessive & not just conditions but after all the FIA have done very insignificant
  12. Great days telly, Grand Prix, Rally Japan, then Top Gear http://transmission.blogs.topgear.com/2008...ndays-are-back/
  13. P1 in Norhallerton, just a short detour from the A19, try grill, drive through town & back onto A19 to Mboro How long would this take? Cheers Paul
  14. Paul, think it's all been said, hope you get everything sorted to your satisfaction ASAP Debbie & Paul
  15. Shop around Kim, was a huge difference in price when we bought our F1's a few weeks ago, sorry can't comment on Toyo's but love the F1's so stuck with what were happy with
  16. Hi & welcome, don't think there is anything inparticular, PPP, Prodrive Performance Pack is always a plus, gives more power, should be accompanid by a certificate to prove fitted Otherwise, just the usual, check service history, signs of accident damage, full Subaru history etc Remember it's a buyers market at the moment, nobody can sell cars, so haggle hard good luck with your search
  17. Vulture mode on Have you got a centre console lid with catch in tact & the small plasitc slider clip that closes the inner trim round the jack Kip?
  18. Drove to Corsica twice in 2004 & 2005, 3 P1's in convoy, it was certainly an experience we'll never forget people coming out of houses when we stopped, Corsican police taking pictures of us on their phones, unbelievable The French don't have 2 door Impreza's as they are all right hand drive, so caused a lot of interest This year we have 7 scoobs making the trip, should be fun
  19. http://www.ktgreen.co.uk/news.html Ring & ask for Simon
  20. Ours does Fitted a back box from K T Green & a H&S straight through centre pipe, all cats still in place, well happy with the result & keeps the 4 pipes, just a little bigger http://www.vimeo.com/1036985 http://www.vimeo.com/923699
  21. As above link, don't know about RB5's but I do know P1 centres are only about £5 from a Subaru dealer, may be worth a call for price?
