Great news Paul, hope she's OK

Hi & welcome
Have a mate with a P1 running 380BHP, mapped with a Hayward & Scott sportscat, passed MOT legally no problems, you will have to make sure your mapper adjusts correctly
-
Wear on the outside!!! That is not good
Maybe that's why they've been getting so much criticism for the handling in the UK!
Yep know what you mean, it is only slight but positive camber ain't good for handling, looking forward to driving it again after it's aligned
Paul ours is a Euro car like Al's...........only with the steering wheel at the right side
-
It seems all 08's are having problems with wheel alignments ??
Ours is on 8500 miles, outside edges starting to wear a touch uneven, the car hasn't been driven hard. I know people who bought new 05's and 06's that had the same problem, I think the issue is that the wheel alignment is not been checked at pre delivery inspection, then of course you can't prove anything and have tp pay for it yourselves
Anyway, should make a difference when corrcted
-
Think you need to treat the 08 to a few choice mods! Then lets see what you bring to Finland
If I'm honest I've only driven the car about 100 miles since the Germany trip in since August anyway got a little trip to Wales next week, trouble is it will be motorway, then the traffic jams & police everywhere but looking forward to driving the car for a couple of days
Car going in for it's 9000 service next week & a wheel alignment check / adjustment, hopfully will make a difference

Not sure if still running but there was a group buy on Scoobynet http://bbs.scoobynet.com/group-buys-356/70...hid-kit-gb.html

P1 has spoilt you best sell it very cheaply to Lin
That's the problem if I'm honest, we just love the P1, don't get me wrong the build qualty etc is far superior on the 08 and a better proposition for Deb's daily drive, but you know what we took to Corsica
Sorry much as I love Lin and she's welcome to a ride shotgun anytime I have to live wih Deb

I normally start the car and before i get to fifth gear i have flicked into S#. I select S# not because i thrash the car everywhere, it simply makes the car feel totally alive. Don't like any of the other settings, to me they just kill the car and defeat the object of having all them horses.
Must admit that's the way I feel as well, we always warm up the car properly etc, maybe it would save fuel on a long motorway trip, but think the money spent on the Si drive would have been best spent elsewhere
Funny thing is I drove the car about 50 mile round trip to work the last week, drove all the way there in S#, drove home in I mode switching to S# for a couple of overtakes, got 1 MPG more using S# all the time
The car definitly needs something to make it feel more alive, hopfully PPP will be the cure
-
Thanks for the update gents, must admit I don't drive ours much, but given up using the I mode, started just switching to sport#,it just feels horrible & gutless even when seting off from junctions normally in I mode, sounds like this cures the problem

Seems owners of vehicles registered between 2001 & 2006 have a reprive?
More money to spend on mods for the P1

Could seem like a long week Al

I've not had a good look through yet, are all wrx/sti cars imports? if so is the turbo 2000 model the one to go for?
Yep WRX/STI were all imports that age, Turbo 2000 usually denotes UK car, safer option, but not as well speced
-
Be interested to see how you get on, must admit were in 2 minds, we've "fixed" the exhaust, just not sure on the performance pack, thinking of giving it a miss
-
Hi and welcome link above is a good place to start
UK car, cheaper to insure, easier to check history and no issues with UK fuel
Import, usually have a few more toys, more power, need to be careful with fuel, they run 102 octane in Japan, so need remap or octane booster
Plenty to choose from, it's a buyers market at the moment, there are some very used Imperza's out there, but there are some very good used Impreza's
Good luck with your search

Nice write up again Tony as above, when's the order been placed?
-
Just had the Subaru dealer on the phone!
My car is going in on Monday for PPP.
The only problem is that the ECU has to be programmed by Prodrive, which means my ECU has to be sent to the UK, programmed, then sent back to Germany with the rest of the PPP bits, so it will be next Friday at the earliest when I get the car back!
I'm hoping its worth the wait
Nice 1 Al, be interested to see what you think

Cheers
Paul
Also past about 10 Scoobs & an Evo leaving Northallerton today, was there a meet on, if so where? Waved a first car then realised I was in the Honda

thats just silly!! it'll be fun when it slips under the brake pedal LOL!
Was thinking the same re the brake pedal, that's just dangerous, what happens if you need to use the fun pedal to get out of trouble?
Failed My Mot Today =(

Common fault mate, they get all the road dirt on them, drill the heads off, remove with mole grips, B&Q sell stainless botts to replace, use some grease on the threads, new bulbs and job done
