  1. Yesterday I finally got a hold of my new RB320, model 66. I absolutely love it!! The car came from Slip End Subaru following an engine rebuild after the previous owner ran it dry and shat the big end. They fixed it and provided me with all the receipts and technicians report and the engine has now done just under 400 miles. Finally Slip End gave it to Ian Grieves who sold me the car. Im running it slowly, working hte gears, building it up slowly and have been pootling around sitting in the slow lane. Unlike my old STI (version 8), the gear box feels tight, the car feels very solid and has a new competition clutch fitted. I am going to take it back and get the oil changed in a few hundred miles, then give it a while longer before it gets to stretch its legs. Cant wait. Real issue getting the car in and out of the street without catching the splitter, but ill figure out a way. Here she is.
  2. fair play to him for all his effort. Looks totally stinking but he likes it lol
  3. Get what you can back, go to eastern europe and smash his eggs with a piston
  4. Really sorry to hear this has happened Graeme !! shocking story Did you pay by credit card? Is there a way with CC that it is insured? I think there is.
  5. Thanks for the feedback guys. The good squirrel sorry, squiggle has just told me that I shold be changing it around 500 and then working it nicely up and down the gears until its ready at 1000. Then there is the 200 miles, drop it until 750 thing. I guess taking it easy mostly, with some light introduction to revs, with a nice new drink at around 800 should be good. Heres hoping
  6. New engine with 400 miles. Keep it below 2500rpm for another 600 or so. Does it then need the oil changed at 1000 miles? Please advise
  7. Dastek in Dalgetty are offering us 16-25 cars on Sunday 20th November for £35 each ! Good deal I think. Give us more time to get people on board. I would need to pay a deposit so if we can move to the events section and get ideas there, we can get it sorted. Chris
  8. I just found this site. I cant remember how or what I was looking for. I havent come across this before and there is some interesting stuff about the history of subaru, the impreza, the various versions and text around the most powerful off the shelve. The WR1. Didnt know that either although I now remember back to a few years ago when my V8 STI with 327/320 at the time got completely destroyed near knockhill by a WR1. It all falls into place now........... I hope for those of you who havent yet seen this, it provides some new knowledge. Anyone who finds more of this type of stuff, Id personally like to learn more about the badge. HERES THE LINK subaru history
  9. Im new to all this and what is arranged and how etc nowadays. I think its a great idea though. Before we know it it will be xmas so maybe it should be before the last pay day, ie Oct/Nov? This means more people would be up for it.
  10. OMG !! Glad the kids are OK and hope the wife is fine too ! Thats the main thing. New scooby for xmas hopefully
  11. Uncle Duncy has this? OK so it could be a Central dyno?
  12. Hi, I want to get my new scoob dynod and thought it would be good to ask if there are others intending to do the same anytime soon? Keeping the cost down would do nicely as well as getting to meet new folks and see some scoobs. I noticed there was one started up to gauge interest in May/June and was later cancelled. ANyone else fancy getting this set up? Where is it you go these days? Dastek? Im staying out of Star + deepest Fife as each time I go there I get points. Chris
  13. Looks good mate ! Like the white alloys ! Welcome
  14. I Know this is the S IMPREZA DC but I have today been given the use of a 2010 legacy deisel until the RB320 is ready, and have to say, the car is great ! It is a deisel, must have about what? 170bhp? not sure, but it pulls along nicely, takes deisel fuel, has cruise control and phone bluetooth which i dont know how to sync, loads and loads of room in the boot, feels solid on the road and im sure would make a superb second car or motorway runner if you had a spare 20 odd k. I really like it. I remember the white legacy wilky had with all its toys and remember not being able to shake it off in the STI on the twisties coming down from Loch Earn. Maybe that was just driving differences though. Legacy gets a big thumbs up from me and im sure is a great car in the winter too :biggrinsanta:
  15. Exactly !!! The Schwartz Panther !!! In the body shop at Grieves having some work done to the painting, then its out on the prowl !
  16. welcome to the forum Gandalf. NIce to buy a first scooby with such power ready to go ! To get photos up, you need to create a photobucket.com account then its all fairly easy. You upload a photo to your account, copy the link, and paste it into the icon above (2 places right of the smiley face) Good luck Chris
  17. Love the white M3 and the old porsche. Very nice. The RB320s look smoking hot and the blue STI with the engine bay is amazing I remember flying on concorde when I was 10. Amazing aircraft ! pity they dont make them anymore
  18. good list of toys you have there ! Looks good. I remember getting mine all fitted then limping through to Edinburgh to see Andy for the map. Not worth the risk of doing anything else. Drop links front and rear Swaybar Strut braces Anti lift kit (didnt have) Tein springs Geometry again The car will handle like its on rails
  19. Good read there Kenny. Sorry I cant give you advice on what to do or how cos my knowledge is limited to basic stuff regarding mods. Nothing compared to what some of these guys are doing nowadays. I guess youre going to get all the block, internals sorted out as the main project first. Then think about the stuff like injectors, fuel pump, headers, zorst, new turbo, FMIC, filter/airflow, ECU. I think my old STI was running high 300s, maybe low 400s and all I did was Injectors Headers (equal length or almost equal length) Fuel pump Oil pump Decat 49G turbo (pretty laggy and had to be worked on boost) FMIC Remap Hope this helps
  20. yesterday i was driving along the M73 when a man jumped onto my bonnet. I stopped to see if he was ok but he said he thought i was someone else.
