  1. Don't have an engine yet Paul, so that's unlikely.
  2. Now what makes you think I won't be around cutting the grass this year ? ---john---
  3. Did think that would be the case Stephen. It want's to compare RPM to Speed to figure out what gear it's in by the sounds of it. ---john---
  4. To quote lawrence Hoy, "I'll help you all I can ! Right up until the point you beat me, then you're on your own" ---john----
  5. **** Me, he listened, well at least the once
  6. I managed to stave that off till I was 39 so it is do-able The technique is a well guarded secret
  7. Hi Paul, easy thing to do. If you need to show it a little less than 5V just use an appropriate Zener Diode. Stephen here's an idiots guide http://www.mayothi.com/diodes.html Personally I suspect the code will be a little more clever than to be fooled by a fixed voltage, but it's worth a try !! ---john---
  8. Stephen if you simply require a fixed voltage, I'd just spend less than a Quid and stick an 7805 in there Maplin product code UJ54J. ---john---
  9. Don, that's pretty much all wrong mate. You 'MUST' have the same front and read Final Drive Ratios !!!!!!!!! If you don't your centre diff will be Toast Available Ratios for the TY754 and TY752 are 4.44:1, 4.11:1, and 3.9:1. The later is acheived in the JDM car by using 3.9 CWPs in both the front and back with 1:1 drop gears in the centre dif. Euro cars use a 3.9 in the front and a 1:1.1 drop gear, then a 3.54 (3.54 x 1.1 =3.9) in the rear. I think the reason for the difference is to lower the speed of the prop shaft on the euro cars with their higher top speed. If you were using the box you got from Grieg, it has a 4.11 front diff from memory. ---john---
  10. Euan, there are two master cylinders under there, one for the front and one for the rear. ---john---
  11. Finally got round to fitting my Bias Box today after it languishing in the garage for about 18 months. It leave plenty of room in a certain area of the engine bay ---john---
  12. I wouldn't try to to take an Impreza on a Single wheel trailer for any distance, to heavy !! ---john---
  13. Funny you should ask, one of my collegues is building a site for him right now There's a holding page up there for now www.penninesubaru.com or .co.uk for that matter
  14. Wouldn't buy the Cossie one, it uses normal location pressure pump
  15. CBs use a PL259 connector for the arial not a BNC. I'd think that was for an early Mobile Phone arial and the 3.5 jack looks like power, easily checked, stick a volt meter on it with the ignition on
  16. ... of the, probably, millions just earned in this circus, how much do you think was donated to Cancer Research and the like by the people involved ?
  17. Obviously the only way to be sure, is to dry sump it, this will be happening on my car sometime soon. With a wet sump you can only do the best you can. Sounds like you've done everything humanly possible for the Skyline Adam. Zen have a dry sump solution in the pipeline, not far away timewise either. Pennine Subaru, I 'believe' are also developing a system
  18. Andy uses a Cosworth Sump and Baffle plate and is still seeing some surge, however his application is a little different to our cars I think I'm sure they are both a good product. I have an Alloy Big Winged Arc sump in the garage and I wouldn't p1ss in it as I'd probably get wet feet, it's Sh!t. ---john---
  19. That Baffle plate is more of a windage tray really, whilst a good idea, it'll not prevent surge on it's own. You need a properly baffled sump for that. If I get a minute I'll take a pic of my Lateral Performance Baffle setup. Did a whole season last year without so much as a sniff of oil surge with this on the car. These things aint cheap, but if you consider the relative cost to replacing an engine then it is a sound investment. ---john---
  20. Really depends on how well setup your car is, but realistically, I would certainly be thinking about it
  21. ... and much fun they are too Just fancy something different
  22. Intercooler pipes are taped up in case Craig drops any thing down there
  23. Another wee job done today to aid in the 'transmogrification' from Hillclimb car to Circuit car. Oil cooler installed in the inner wing Thanks KennyS for the help today
