only 9 days to go ..............................
ian_finlayson replied to Gumball's topic in Scottish Scoobies
A wee idea. How about every third meet or so do a wee shownshine comp with the winner getting a free meal that night. Have something for the evening to focus on each month and bring everyone together with plenty of argueing. Or best new mod dirtiest car biggest dent.. I don't know -

Oh and my mates slag me off for going to a meet where apparently we all pleasure ourselves over either the bonnet or up the exhaust so it never appeals to tell them where I am going on said night -

I've only been to one meet and must admit I didn't talk to that many people and have to say felt welcome by some and not by a few. It doesn't help that I'm not the most forward person. I expected lots of climbing in and out of cars seeing different mods and seeing nice bits and pieces. You know....ooh thats nice, how much was that, do you have any more, could you fit that for me etc. I guess in Summer it may be better. For one thing I'd really like to compare exhaust volumes cause sometimes think mine is megga loud -
I could be going up the wrong lane here but i have an "armval" manual boost controller and it feeds out a very very consistent 14.7 psi at full boost with no drop off whatsoever. No running or idling problems at all. Amazingly i set it at its minimum and then got going. Reached 14 psi so did one more 1/4 tunr and got where I am so it must be capable of holding much more. Got it off ebay for just 24 notes. For sale in feb though as getting tek3 with 3 port boost solenoid. Not bothered if I manage to sell it or not though This is it below Ian

I do 10on/off and we all know if you are due home mid to late december then you have had it! Don't put down working offshore, it has it's perks. 6 months off a year, tax free earnings and in my case lots of sunshine. Oh and my ships hardly ever leave port. Did I mention I am in Bermuda right now. Yup away for christmas but no kids so not so bad. Single too though, sniff sniff

Just passed my test a few weeks, driving through town as you do with a few mates, waved to my cousin failing to see the car in front had stopped and tapped his bumper quite nicely. Then on another day a few weeks later going through town centre chatting away to mates and only noticed red light coming on at the last minute, cue transit not having as good brakes and hit me. Loudest non damaging bang I have ever heard, the whole town centre turned to see what happened.

Paddy it'll look even better with a nice set of 17" speedlines

I dont mind them paying less as long as there are certain constraints on their driving 1 keep out of car parks, especially those with the concrete posts they cannot seem to be able to see 2 do not attempt parallel parking. 3 Keep out of all parking spaces less than 3 car lengths long 4 stay out of chelsea tractors and smaller copies of such (ie rav4) 5 stay away from busy junctions where you have to pull out quickly and join traffic flow. Only joking ladies by the way.

I have to disagree and say that it is a common fault on the classics. before I bought the car I did a lot of research into what to look for in a classic and clutch judder was mentioned by lots of people. I heard that sometimes fitting a new clutch works, others said fitting a P1 flywheel sorts it and others said nothing works. Once its warm its fine on mine but some mornings the car judders all over the place. I don't do it very often but I know an " aggressive" start will clean the clutch surface and sort the juddering for a while.

Don't mean to stir it up but why bother unless you live at a motorway petrol station at the top of a hill or in a village beside the best road in scotland, even if you do it's not that hard to drive round the block once to cool the turbo down. It only needs about 1 to 2 mins normal driving to let everything cool down maybe more if you have thrashed the pants off the car for the past half hour. Unless that is you only use the car on track and even then why not leave it idling for a minute while calming yourself down in the process. Sorry to offend but i just dont see the need for them. But I do live in the city and always have a ten minute drive to/from my house to any high speed roads.

I've got front and rear drop links too. Just one problem with them They are still in the boot as I haven't fitted them yet. AWD supplied them and would have fitted them for a total of just £105 BTW (inc droplinks in case that reads wrong)

Before anyone says I know I wasn't there but.. We (you) have done the rural thing so how about now doing something urban and shiny. It s convenient for me and not for others but how about somewhere like the Glasgow Science centre or SECC at a rare quiet time. There would be some good vantage points if we could get permission. Then again 60 cars on Ibrox pitch would be the best photo ever. And again before anyone says. We would not be ripping the pitch up!!!!!! Then again it might improve their play and give us something interesting to watch on the pitch. Other suggestions Falkirk wheel?

Balls. Didn't make it. Just couldn't get out of bed after my big weekend. Hats off to you for getting up after 4 hours sleep. My bed was just too warm for this. Sorry guys, especially to the RB5OC members. Finnie

glasgow meeting point for the RUN/SHOOT
ian_finlayson replied to Gumball's topic in Scottish Scoobies
0730! I didn't know there was such a time on a sunday. Seriously doubting my attendance to this now. Fridays trip to Newcastle will no doubt lead on to a saturday night out too and I can't imagine getting up that early. But you never know might bow out early on saturday and try to get up for this. If so I'll be at the cumbernauld garage if I can find it. Then again if I pull on saturday then I will not be there. Highly unlikely though given recent (un)successful nights out! -
Ah c'mon, open to offers??

Andy, saw in another post that you are a internet anti virus man. Wondered if you can help/advise. I have a spyware virus called apropos c which norton sees but then doesn't do anything about after its scan. Then twenty minutes later it sees it again, scans and then again does nothing. Also have microsoft anti spywar but that doesn't see it either. Any advice?? Thanks Finnie

Just testing the water here but I am thinking about going for some 18s for my RB5. To fund this I would be selling my original pewter 17" speedlines. The are in reasonable nick but do need a refurb. Two of the original pirellis are nearly done for good but the others have about 4 mm left. Any offers on the doors??? If I have a definate good offer then I will sell. Thanks See pic below Ian Picture

Amazing quote and service from an insurance company

Squirrel, have you fitted the anti lift kit? How is the ride. Also I'm still thinking of selling the speedlines, how much would you think of offering for them. Two tyres are just about shot but the other two have 3 or 4 mm left. Just testing the water to see how much an 18" changover will cost me?? Thanks Finnie -
Anybody know the same for the Glasgow area??
