  1. Would have to say an E46 M3 but then that is exactly what I have Sold the scooby for an M3 and don't regret it for a minute. Maybe not so fast around the twisties but lets face it the mates get sick at full bore in a scooby so they might as well enjoy the luxury and speed of the M3 instead.
  2. Maybe this is a stupid question but what about the actual piece of paper that we all have. Did you have one or not? My driving license to me is the bit of paper and the wee card. I assume that you have moved house since originally passing your test. I had moved around from flat to flat when in Uni all the time and only recently changed the address on my driving license after finding out that there is £1000 fine for having the wrong address on your driving license. Did you ever hire a car, did you not have to prove your driving status to your employer? Not meaning to offend just wondering that if you had the paper then surely it's not your fault and so they shouldn't be able to make you resit!
  3. Finnie - Don't use the forum as miuch as I used to. Had an RB5 (number 107) but now have a 2001 M3
  4. Poor caravan driver must have thought it was "Scooby attack Day"
  5. Have a great day Guys, wish I was there to see the convoy. A great and worthy cause for sure!
  6. Either you live about 500 miles from civilisation or work for Admiral Car insurance! That is amazing. Then again I have not got a quote for my Mums house in Lewis. At 25 I was paying just £400 for a V6 Golf whilst living [] there. Before I moved to Glasgow (on paper anyway)
  7. AWD do 5.1 fluid as part of the service and they did goodrich hoses for just £30 extra. Then again I did spend an extra £1000 on the service! (90,000)
  8. Just had a wee peek at "where are you"and this crossed my mind. None of us are and rich so it must be interesting to compare companies, jobs and rates. So here goes. Used to have a 1999 RB5 (group 17) with decat and tinted windows and paid £850 a year. Now own a standard 2001 BMW M3 with 19 inch wheels (group 20) and pay just £720. 28 years old, park on the street in glasgow city centre (ish) with 6 years ncb with no claims or points. Work at sea, have 49 year old Mum on policy and do 9,000 miles a year social only. Whats going on, that seems cheap to me! Interested to know what others pay?????????????????????????
  9. Ah P1 on 18" pff7s. Hhhhmmmmmm yuuuum yuuuuum! Me like that!
  10. No not spun it yet. Bought it drove it for two weeks then company asked me to join a ship for one month as a favour. 6 weeks later and I am still on the ship and will be for another 4 to 6 weeks. That poor car sitting in Mums garage just gathering dust. What a waste. Average miles coming down fast mind!
  11. Posted a few times but here is another of RB5 107 which I have sold and now drive this. I am sure to get abuse for this but who cares I love it!
  12. Yesterday I was coming back from Hillington via pollok (to avoid that flamin titwood road bridge closure!) Was at the lights just where the road near old pollok centre crosses the M77. Up behind me pulled a nice big white van with all the lights and oh yes the policemen drivers. Better behave i thought. Green went the lights. Limit is forty along road to Pollokshaws ( two lane duel carraigeway that goes on for over a mile) but car in front was doing 35. So I overtook at 40, past the speed camera and pulled back into left lane. Police didn't follow but I kept a beady eye on mirrors and stuck to forty. Next thing I see an old black car in right lane in my mirror, he must have been alongside police van now. I told my mate and we watched in awe as driver cruised past us all (who were doing spot on 40). We just couldn't believe it, what a muppet. Sure enough van followed nice and slow and at the end of the road pulled the guy over. What a donkey. me and my passenger nearly cried laughing watching it all. One thing to learn from this. Don't overtake a police vehicle which is travelling at speed limit, eben if it does have dog branch on the side!
  13. Whats going on here. When I had my car I never heard that many subaru's around here. Now I've sold it it seems every day there is a regular thrum turning down coustonholm road and kilmarnock road. Anybody on here, managed to spot a silver classic wagon go down earlier??? C'MON RANGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Doesn't optimax degrade over time. Last time I was away at sea the car had a quarter tank of optimax left in it for 10 weeks. When I got back I thought my knocklink had been swapped with a christmas tree light set. It was terrible and car ran like a bag of spanners. I have tried BP ultimate recently with good performance and no lighting.
  15. Insurance is a truly mad world! My insurance with A plan was 850 with exhaust, tints and green filter on my RB5 declared. Now sold the car and have 2001 M3. Checked insurance quote with elephant and it came out just 700 odd. Then called a plan to tell them of new car. They first said 1200 for year and 200 for remaining 2 months of policy. I told them of elephant quote and they said they'd get back to me. They duly did and offered a change over fee of just 45 notes! Its a mad mad world, how can a modified group 17 MY99 RB5 cost more to insure than a 20 grand group 20 with 100 odd horsepower more!
  16. Perhaps I'm not themost clued up but whats wrong with the plate, is the 52 or whatever misplaced because as far as I can see there isn't much wrong with that. Can someone explain
  17. England GET IT RIGHT UP YA! Away the scottish rugby team!!!!!
  18. I've seen something similer happen to that. Oh yes in the petrol station. Remember the five point check when you first get in the car. 1 Adjust seat, 2 Mirrors 3 Seatbelt 4Handbrake 5 Neutral Then start. Women have any number more you can think of Make up, phone, purse annoy the man waiting behind her!!!!!! Old folks just seem to have a wee snooze after all the stress of using those new fangled pump things and magic cards which pay for money.
  19. There are about 5 or 6 of them round the central belt, that I know of. Since Friday I'm not one of them though.
  20. Yeah I'm ready for all the digs. Yes it does have indicators, no I wont be handing over my licence when I pick up the car and yes it will travel in a lane other than the fast lane! Don't care though. I've always been a huge BMW fan, my first car was a 328i sport. The M3 has been a dream and now it's going to come through. I'm a wee bit apprehensive of going back to rear wheel drive especially with 340 odd horsepower but I'm sure it will be fine. I certailny don't drive like a loon round the corners. On the test drive gave it some beans on a couple of junctions and easily got the tail out but I was testing and the rear tyres are shot. Fortunately the deal includes some new rear tyres so that should help that. I'll be treating it with kid gloves over the next few weeks.Parking will be nightmare with the 19s though! Amazingly the insurance is less with the M3, how crazy is that? Got a warranty for a year too. Economy should be similar so all in all running costs shouldn't be too much (I hope).
  21. There were two moments I regretted it. First when I took the deposit. It's very final and you know that in a couple of days you'll be car less. Second time was when the car left. Like I said in other thread I've never heard the car drive away before apart from the guys moving it at AWD. But where it was parked on Friday the new owner had to reverse up the dead end. Car sounded great and looked fantastic. Then he pulled away and roared up the road.I've heard loads of scoobies drive past but must say my (old) car is the best sounding model I have ever heard. At that point i realised how much I'll miss it. But I just had to remember the straight six roar of the M3. A different noise but still fantastic and the ever lasting power and rev range.OOOOHHH These thoughts get my mind off losing such a great car!
  22. Cheers guys. Paddy a guy from Kilmarnock bought the car and seems a good guy. He's carrying on with the mods I had planned. You never know I told him about AWD so he might use you again. I know he's registered on here too.
  23. I've had quite a few waves and flashes or some kind of alright fellow owner gesture (nod, smile or thumbs) but I have had a lot of wierd looks too.
  24. Had the Rb5 for a year but decided to sell it a few weeks back So off it went to its new owner yesterday afternoon. Sounded brilliant as it went, Its very rare I wasn't in it when it was on the move so never got to hear it from the outside apart from at AWD. I'll miss it alright but I fancied some more comfort and leather. So this left yesterday and I'll be picking this up midweek. Counting the days! Lovely
  25. Seems there were a few of us there that day. Yep it was the car with 49000 miles. Actually had just over 50 but not bothered. can't wait for next week now
