  1. Alreet folks. Better jump at the chance while I have it to organise a wee meeting for you lot. I have a window in my schedule to have a get together so if your up for it then I am too If we dont do it this week then I personaly wont be able to attend due to work commitments. So , Thursday night, 7:30 at the Hungry Horse in Stirling. Just the usual style meet that seems to work for everyone....informal chat and poke round each others cars. If your hungry then order food. If your thirsty then order drinks. If you want advice then ask questions. If you have ideas for the club then put them forward. If you want to cause trouble....stay at home because no one is interested Hope the usual suspects can make it plus any newbies. Looking forward to seeing you there.
  2. Wilky, well put. All we need to do now is educate folk into the major down side of running VTA Dump valves without 3bar map sensors and we will be on the way to keeping more scoobies on the road and out of the repair shops
  3. Unless your running 350+bhp then you dont need the CAI Kit. A good panel filter is better for performance. No doubt someone will disagree. The facts are proven though. Get an STi Element and save your cash!!
  4. Thanks for trying anyway Paul Its not everyones cup of tea. Some folk might be put off by the traveling and the fact its in a foregin country Theres also the chance they might get their car dirty and that just wont do Depending on my global position at the time I will hope to make it over. Fingers crossed.
  5. Mick Sorry to hear about your car, not a good start to the year for you!! Depends on how far you want to travel, Greere motorsport to the south of Glasgow or further north there is MVM in Dunfermline and AWD in Perth. All very good places to deal with. PM me if you want more advice
  6. Look on the forums both here and Scoobynet, also Pistonheads .com Try for one with lowish milage and service history. A version 3/4 STI or a 99 ish UK car should be in the range of your £££ Good luck
  7. Scoobyandy, Im throught the MS news every week but there are better ones on offer if you know where to look. Not going to waste anyones time until I have the cash sitting ready to go Spring 2007 I hope ANDYJDMSTI......watch that the marshals dont confuse you with the competitors What with those thick stickers you were going to get for the arches
  8. The ball is rolling already But the more contacts the better. I will Pm you my budget
  9. DVD's are top notch Cant beat seeing the "real deal" Scoobies being driven the way they should be Its what made me sell the road going version I think
  10. << perhaps if i had have said "rally babe seeks company up back road " >> Yeh..whatever...like any of them would know what to do
  11. Bloomin' good offer you have put down here Paul I hope everyone realises the effort you are putting in to sort this out! Price for the Ferry might put some folks off going but the sail over would be good "craik" too no doubt Done a trip over before and the scenery is good en route too Well worth thinking about for those folks that have only ever been to Knockhill or some of the small time rallys round the doors over here. Irish Tarmac rallying is at the same level as WRC due to the fact that the machinery is mostly WRC spec. If you want to see Subaru's, EVO's, Focus's and much more at 100% then this is the trip to do. It will make you want to come home and rip your Max Power mods off your car and book it into Prodrive or Roger Clark Motorsport for some proper upgrades Hope you do well with this Paul
  12. Looks like a cracker With the extras its had fitted, its pretty much a WR spec P1 Tempting!!! Good luck with the sale
  13. Bing, I dont mind being his man-servant...but its the abuse I cant handle!!! I cant walk properly for days. ...what with all those flights of stairs to go up and down with his breakfast-lunch and dinner-then his slippers
  14. Bing, yer too late!! I was roond last night and ate all his digestive Biccys, He had boxes of them too ...plus hes living on Farm Foods and Aldi produce now he has a mansion to keep
  15. Canny beat it eh Stephen!!! Not done a stroke since the 17th of December and might not until the 23rd of Jan Its a hard life
  16. Mega drift Vid
  17. << That must of cost a lot being made of 316 it marine grade stainless >> Lets just say there was no milk for a month
  18. He means Grade A IIRC I'm sure he had problems with them a while back. Can you confirm this Grant?
  19. Scotlands version of Grade A
  20. Grade A
  21. Not sure how big the part is that you need cleaned, but I think some of the fuel injection specialists should have ultra sonic baths for cleaning injectors and pump parts. Not sure if they would let you use it or even if they would be big enough to fit the part into. Got one on my ship too!!! But its off the coast of Angola just now, so not much use there
  22. Well done Faither Its amazing how much those wee jeeps can drift n' slide. I think the Falcon might just manage to do it via the gift of sheere grunt though!!!! See you later
  23. Brian, Sorry to hear about this. I know the car well and I also know the owner of the Garage that imported it from Japan. I am very surprised that this happened to be honest. The car has been treated like a member of the family since new!! As far as repairs go...I cant comment without seeing the engine first hand and perhaps striping it down. The problem you face with a shell turning is that it will have contaminated the whole engine with metal filings from the shell. You will be looking at (possibly) a new crank and rods along with a full set of big end and main bearings. There is no point in skimping when its down that far. The shell might have caused the travel of the rod/piston to increase and cause damage to the head/s and valves so be prepared to look at extra costs for this. Timing belt and new tensioner is a must as is a new oil pump. What you must watch for is the garage you decide to contract the job out too. If they are not 100% sure about the job, then dont let them touch it. You need to know what your looking at when stripping it down. For example it could be a MAF failure thats caused it to run lean and melted a piston. You need to know how to spot this and on rebuilding the engine and getting it back on the road again also fit a new MAF sensor.(just an example) Things like that you need to watch. Many people have rebuilt engines and had them blow again due to incompetent workmanship. Greere are a good bet as a few folk have said. Shop around but take your time and dont rush in
  24. Paddy, Just pull the headlamp uniy out. It takes about 10 seconds for a trained monkey to do, so you should manage it by tonight. Remove the grill bitty, then the two bolts behind there (10mm socket needed) then remove the one next to the wing (also 10mm) and hey presto.....access. P.s you will need to pull the unit straight forward to get it to pop out of the little socket it sits into. Dont be rough though If you need any more help....dont call
