  1. We'd like you arriving at 9am from a Marshaling point of view. We sure as hell don't want everyone descending at 10am as that would be chaos! If you can do 9am then you'd be making things a lot easier for yourselves and for us The Prodrive facilities won't open till 10, but you'd beat the rush and be parked up
  2. Indeed. You've not paid for them yet. That'll be MY bottle of Port then
  3. "Andy's list of things to do for the Gathering No. 31297 - Publicly thank Sue for fundraising efforts." I have thanked her by email, but should - on behalf of the Gathering organisers - Grant, Imy and myself, do it publicly. Her email was a very unexpected surprise and a very welcome addition to our fundraising efforts. It enters totally into the spirit of the event - doing what we do for the charities with no personal reward other than the satisfaction in knowing you've helped. This will get a mention on the Gathering site, of course, but it looks like fundraising is still going on so I won't publicise it yet - firstly to stop Sue getting swamped with orders from across the Globe (which WILL happen!) and secondly till we know the final sum raised. Once more - our sincere thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty to support this event - and thanks to all who have purchased too.
  4. Awesome. Scottish Scoobies come up with the goods yet again Well done to Peter and staff. Tonight's efforts will be sure to get more than a little mention in a mega news update to the Gathering going out tomorrow
  5. Great to see so many turn out - even though I don't have a fscking clue who most of you are! I left before the raffle was drawn, but never win anything anyway and next time somebody asks me to buy them £20 of tickets with a name like "Paul555sti" and I have to write it on the back of every sodding ticket I'll think twice I'm in Glasgow Tuesday afternoon so If Paul or Frenchy won owt I'll collect then
  6. What? Just one world record?
  7. To be honest, things have been so manic with stickers, shirts and everything else to be sorted it's only in the past couple of days we've started talking about the finer points of the logisitcs in any detail. To me "arrive for 10am" means exactly that. "FOR", not "AT". We'll be on-site from 8am to Marshal. With folk coming from all over there will probably be people there when we get there and still be arriving at 11am so I don't see a problem with arriving at 9 as long as you realise the Prodrive facilities won't open till 10 and there's nowt else to do in an industrial estate!
  8. There seems to be a little confusion over this. The Prodrive facilities at Banbury i.e. the Heritage Centre and SWRT workshops will open at 10am. That does not mean we want everyone arriving at bang on 10am as that would mean chaos. Marshals will be on-site from 8am onwards. You are free to arrive any time after 8am and Marshals will direct you to Parking, but the Prodrive facilities won't open until 10am. We cannot guarantee you will be parked together or leave Banbury together due to the sheer volume of cars expected. Because Prodrive are in an industrial estate we are having to use the parking facilities of other businesses to fit everyone in. You must follow the directions of Marshals to your designated parking area. Thinking about the logistics, I'd rather you arrived early i.e. any time from 8:30am onwards so we can get you parked up rather than delay your journey and arrive at 10am with several hundred others.
  9. Cheers! As we expected, it has gone absolutely crazy today with people doing last minute orders for stickers. Why? They've been available since MAY! Nonetheless, we'll muddle on through and it will be an awesome event
  10. The three original organisers of this - Grant, Imy and myself got together last night for a sticker envelope-stuffing session accompanied by dial-a-pizza. Grant's a bit indifferent to the whole "buzz" thing (probably down to stress!), but Imy & I love seeing all these topics in Forums all over the place about people making their plans for the Gathering. There is a real buzz about this event and it's great to see so many people wanting to be part of the entire thing and making the effort to get up to Lanark You'll get a good Scottish welcome (as long as you have a sticker up front!) Look forward to seeing you there Andy
  11. Steve - I live about 10 miles from Stirling. If Scotty is kind enough to offer the loan then I can take them home, put the data on DVD and post to you. That way you don't have to worry about couriers etc. I'll ensure return of the items to Scotty.
  12. Register where though? you register car details when you place the order. Please have him use the Contact Us link on the site to provide Name, Reg No and mobile No. He'll also need to tell us your order No so we can tie him to that order.
  13. We'll need this Jon's details...
  14. They better not be mine ya bas! :P
  15. As sent out to the mailing list today: The cut-off date for Sticker Orders to be placed with us is THURSDAY 14TH AUGUST. Stickers sales will be removed from the shop on that day. If we don't have your order by then, you will not be able to get a sticker in advance and risk being denied participation in the event. Note that if paying by cheque you MUST have this in the post to us, first class, no later than TUESDAY 12TH AUGUST. All cheques must be with us by the 14TH - no exceptions. We will remove the payment by cheque option from the Shop on the 12TH. On the subject of cheques, someone sent in a cheque in payment in the name of "Brooks" (or "Brookes"). They provided no other information and we have no outstanding orders in the name of Brooks. If this was you, you must contact us immediately. We cannot, at present, process the order as we have no idea what or who it relates to. If you have already ordered and got your stickers - sit back and relax! Thank you for helping us by getting your order in in good time. If you have already ordered and NOT got your stickers yet, please do not contact us chasing it unless you are absolutely certain 28 days have passed from the date of your order. There is still a backlog, but it is gradually being reduced. If you miss the cut off date, no amount of begging or pleading will get you a sticker in advance. We must remain focused on existing outstanding orders so that so those who ordered in good time get theirs as quickly as possible. We will have a VERY LIMITED supply of stickers at Lanark, and potentially at Banbury and Warwick at the cost of £20 instead of £10 for ordering in advance. Once they're gone, they're gone. If they sell out at Lanark there will be none at Banbury. If they sell out at Banbury there will be none at Warwick. It would be terrible for anyone to turn up on the day and us have to turn them away so PLEASE - get those orders in by the 14TH.
  16. I could tell it was an engine.
  17. You should still get stickers providing you order now and pay by PayPal. Cheque adds about a week to things. The Holiday Inn Express in Banbury, about 2 mins from Prodrive, still had rooms as of Wednesday. Not sure now.

    Wtf?

Guys, I've given you my position and opinions as the Administrator of this website regarding the reading of other people's Personal Messages and also some technical info on how it is or is not possible. That was done mostly to reassure you that the Administrators of the SIDC would never take part in practices like that. However, we've got the McRae Gathering coming up, which I am also involved in, where we want the entire Subaru community to forget their past or current differences and come together, united just once, for one sole purpose - to celebrate the life of Colin McRae. We really don't want any antagonism or fallouts either at the event or in the lead up to it. It's not what Colin would want, it's not what his family would want, it's not what Prodrive want and it's not what we want. Once the event is over, by all means go for it if you really feel it necessary. However, I don't think you need to. Personally, I'd say rise above any bait laid down and continue the way you have been - a post-whoring (!!), yet friendly and welcoming asset to the SIDC.
  19. I'm an admin. I can sort that. Fancy a date?
  20. Seig Heil! (And you guys think I'M a hard moderator. I'm a pussycat compared to Kim!) You can tell when it's not him posting. The messages don't say "slfdmkn sfgokmsf sflgm g gflkmgopigfm gfflkdmgf"
  21. I don't know who locked the thread last night and subsequently deleted it, but it wasn't me. I did find the topic a bit too "Scabbynet" for my liking, but some of the comments were very entertaining. What we have now though is two Forum users at each other's throats. If that continues, I WILL hit the delete button...

    Wtf?

Much like your car, there are hundreds of Mods available for all the popular Forum packages. They're written by third parties and are usually free. See the Garage up the top of the SIDC Forums? That's a Mod written by a third party designed to plug into the Forums. That's a good Mod Mods that allow you to abuse your position are bad Mods, IMO A quick Google for "VBulletin Read Personal Messages" and hey presto... http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=123166 (We don't use VBulletin, BTW. We use Invision Powerboard)

    Wtf?

Not expensive, but not free. It was about $80 (I think) and we pay $50 a year for support and upgrades. I've been running this forum software for 5 years plus now and over the years must have been into every single option in the Admin panel. There is not a way in there to view another user's PM's. You're even limited as to what you can edit in a users profile. All I've ever had cause to edit are Sigs - mostly to remove spam links or excessively long ones or inapprpriate avatars - mostly featuring nakkid women! I couldn't even log in as another user and read PM's that way as passwords are stored encrypted with no way of decrypting them. I daresay it would be possible if I were to drop out and access the database direct, but I wouldn't know where to look for them and, as I say have no desire to. If your PM's are anything like my PM's they're all a load of bollocks anyway! Oh - and if I can't do it, you can guarantee none of the other Admins on here can either. Phil is a total technophobe for starters!

    Wtf?

Strangely enough I was talking about this very subject with Frenchy last night. Not because of stuff in here, but the saga that was ongoing in Kent Scoobies! Apart from the fact I don't know how to (that's the truth, BTW) and have no desire to, I couldn't do it from an ethical standpoint any more than I could turn up at your house and open your mail. As far as I'm concerned, Personal Message means exactly that - PERSONAL. It's clear abuse of position and privilege to snoop into another person's private messages.
  25. Malke sure you eats loads too so you can't sting me for any diet money
