  1. Not sure who it was I seen a Blue classic parked outside the Glasgow Climbing Center. Also seen a silver newage at Glasgow fort reg S***BDY. Both cars had SIDC tax disc holders.
  2. Does the car drive o.k. normally??? No hesitations etc when you first start to drive it from cold….? Just a stab in the dark from me, but was wondering if your Lambda sensor could be on it’s way out, meaning the car could be running richer than it should be and therefore producing more pops and flames. I’m sure there be more techie guys than me along that may be able to tell you what’s what. As above mine jdm sti v3 also pops and bangs but Andy F mapped it like that for me.
  3. I have a classic STI V3 and get about 200 miles out of a tank, car is mapped for v-power only.
  4. Hi all, I need to replace my Lambda sensor as the o.e one is dead; my car is a V3 sti import at the mo the original Lambda is a 3 wire 1 black and 2 white wires. I have bought a universal one from Cats Direct (because I can’t afford a Subaru one) it matches mine same 3 wires, 1 black and 2 white wires. My question is I’m going to have to cut the original Lambda sensor so I can use the plug, the 2 white wires I know are heater wires, now do I have to wire one of the white wire to a specific white wire on the plug??? Or because they are both heater wires can I just wire the first white to the first white on the plug then the next white to the next one on the plug??? Hope this makes sense, thanks in advance for any advice. Alan.
  5. by four and a half seconds !!!! check it out. Top gear lap Scroll down and check in the in car lap, quite fast me thinks.
  6. I had the same problem with my car about 3yrs ago, car was not over heating but when in boost coolant would come out of the expansion tank and when off boost there was nothing - with me it was the head gasket, sounds like the same for you........... every thing you have mentioned so far is pointing towards the head gaskets. Alan.
  7. Great news Peter, can't wait to see the car in person and hear the beast for real. Get those pic's of the beast up.
  8. Sounds like you have got your self a real beast there. I was down at Greer's today talking to Bill about your car...... sounds crazy mate... will have to get you to take me for a spin next time I see you.
  9. I got mine from Calder Motor Company over 3 and half years ago - only because I did not know any other places to look. Personally I would not recommend Calder as I have heard a lot of bad stories about them and I had a few problems with mine. About of months after I got mine the rocker gasket went leaking oil, the head gasket went and as a knock on effect the heater matrix then went, then got a hair line crack in the radiator and the car needed a new clutch………. After a visit to Greer’s the car came back and I've not had any major prob's in the last 3yrs. As Squiggle says "even sh@t garages/importers can sell the occasional one that wont blow up" Alan.
  10. I'm sure that was me Cal, you were behind me from Lanark to when you went onto the M8. It was great to have a little run home with someone else. Nice to know other drivers can hear when the car pops and bangs away. Hope to meet you next time other than a wave at the end. Alan. oh I don't have equal length headers I have RCM Headers.
  11. Well what can I say - first of all thanks for the ribbon Imy Lynda and I started off meeting some of the guys at Bothwell services, then we drove down to Happendon with some very interesting driving by other road users (no one in the club)! The sight that welcomed us at Happendon was very special indeed. Grant your talk before setting off was spot on as well. When leaving Happendon and driving to Lanark was another special moment when all I could see till the end of the roads was Subaru after subaru after subaru...... to see the turn out and Happendon and then seeing us on the road made me proud to be a member. The service itself was very moving, it was very well put together between the service and clips etc... something I will not forget at all. The day was put together so well and big thank you to Strathyclyde Police for stopping traffice etc... and giving us right of way over the bridge Transport to and from the event was spot on as well. It was nice to meet some of you folk today and I hope to meet more of you soon. Alan + Lynda I'd also like to put down in writing, something that struck me today too, Grant said that it was our love of the man and car that first brought us together in a common interest. It was his death that brought us together as a community. I was proud today, to be a part of that too. Lynda

  17. First of all have to say what a great idea. If this is something that can be pulled off and all families involved are happy for us to have such a present on the roads / pavements – then I would be more than honored to be involved with this.
  18. A very, very sad day indeed not only a great loss to the world of motor sport, but the loss of him and his son will be devastating for his friends and family. Colin you will be greatly missed. Colin and son R.I.P Alan & Lynda
  19. Looking to get some advice from you bikers out there..... I am in the process of hunting about to find the best place to take motor bike lessons and take my bike test, I'm based in Glasgow and went over to the south side and spoke to the guys at Ride On... they seem like a honest bunch of people. I’m just really looking for any advice if there are any other better places to learn.... recommendations etc... Also if there are any websites, clubs you guys can point me in the direction of. Also any recommendations on clothing makes good bad etc….. Thanks in advance, Alan.
