The only interest Andy from the plod was the interest they were showing in Brians Bacon rolls....... They had a jeep beside our temporary barbcue site and were dropping the hints for a few rolls..... so we reckong 3 points or £60 for roll and sausage was a fair price...[] by the way Russ....it was me heading up the pack on the drive home......jeez...you car looks great and sounds even better......when you passed me the sound was mmmmmmm....... although Erin my daughter did say....."daddy whats that smell.." Also must thank Duncan at Hpertech for doing such a fab job on the suspension on the car....at short notice he managed to source me the parts and get them fitted.....in time for the run today...I appreciate how busy he was so would like to say thanks...I dont know if Duncan looks at this site or not....but hey its worth saying... As for the new set up the Tein "Basic Damper" set..shocks and springs with subraru geometry settings...and the car has been totally transformed....there is a huge difference and my smile is almost as big as the whole in my wallet...but they were worth every penny........ I would like to thank everyone involved for making today such a success......Obviously special thanks are reserved for Callum who done a fabulous job and should be very proud of his acheivements over the many months and weeks it took to organise this event.....You are a credit to the SIDC Callum and I for one am very proud to have taken part in the events of today..... Everyone deserves a mention though and my thanks to everyone involved in the run from Stirling through to Aviemore for the immpecable behaviour......it was a most enjoyable run...... Finally though thanks to our friends who joined us at the unofficial RB Relay Barbecue site......Brian rallye6 your catering equipment arrangement would have put the scouts to shame....you and Nick Nairn did a great job on the old bacon and egg rolls.....Special mention to my daughters favourite "boy" ha ha........Gus......how does £5 per hour babysitting sound mate..... Seriously though it was a fantastic afternoon...and I enjoyed every minute........ Evening All Just a note on the charity side of the event..... As I only came to this role a week ago......the Central region has not had any events organised like the other areas where funds were raised for the SIDC overall donation to Cancer Research.. I am concious of the fact the most other regions have cheques to hand over at each meet point....so I will be bringing a collection bucket to the central meet point as per Callums suggestion and would welcome any donations to the fund....This is purely for people who have not already been involved in any of the other fundraising events...myself included......I will then write a cheque to cover our cash amount and pass onto the next section of the event as the Central Region donation..... Looking forward to meeting you all on Sunday.....10am Stirling services....... Cheers Paul

After my post last night I called to see Duncan at Hypertech...... I was glad to see he lived up to the expectations I had following all the good reports on here about them.....[] Duncan very kindly looked at the car at very short notice and unfortunately reported that the rear shock had indeed gone, bust, caput, exploded...etc......[] So due to the cost involved of getting replacment genuine sti parts I have opted on Duncans advice for a complete Tein Basic Damper/Spring set.[H]......This will be fitted on Friday in time for the RB run on Sunday.... So somebody pleaseeeeeee reasure me I can expect a different better handling car for my hard earned cash (plastic)...The car has felt crap recently....I just hope this makes me a happier bunny and the car feels better... Any opinions......or should I just sell it?????? cheers Paul

But I take it the rears have to be the same as the front???? so i would need to find out what is on the car......somehow...will check to see if I can see the colour..??

I wasn't technical.....well I need some help... On the way up to Knockhill on Sat I heard some very loud knocking from the back passenger side suspension...I nearly sh** myself and pulled over but nothing was visible. It happenend again a few more times on the way up to the track, but I began to notice more that the car felt very very unstable conering especially going roug rh bends....it also felt like it was skipping out of line....feels terrible and quite frightening sometimes.....[] So I am guessing that my back shock has gone? could it be anything else..... So what sort of money am I looking at for new shocks ..Do I need to replace all of them or just the duff one.....the only thing is whilst the car has eibach springs Im not sure what the shocks are.....as the previous owner upgraded everything else to sti spec or better....as spooks will testify after looking at my brake set up......but ..I dont know if he did the shocks or not..... So what is my best course of action.....shocks all round....or just one shiny new one...???????[:'(] Was thinking of calling in Hypertech and asking them to look at the car....any ideas?? cheers Paul

Great day........Thanks to Peter for the pax lap...that was a real eye opener mate......stomach still not recovered.... [] so good to see so many people out supporting the event..... Had a good laugh with Spooks............is it to early to remind you about the lights....ha ha [] and....dont even get me started on my new friend from Weirs....[A] All in all a really good morning out.....looking forward to the next one....If only I could find pads for my brembo's..........[:$] Hope there is as good a turn out next weekend for the RB relay..... cheers all....
