There you go.

Halfords sell the adaptors but I ended up butchering an old one as none of the local stores had the right one in stock. They'll order it in if you're not in a rush.
-
The matt black looks as hard as nails in the flesh. Got to get another one.

HELP! How do i get locking wheel nuts off - with no key?!
colin_ross replied to jacqui_robb's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Depends on what type of lockers you've got. Halfords sell removers but not sure if they work on the type that have the spinning collars on them. As said above hammer an old socket over it an undo it that way. If you don't mind throwing the old socket out afterwards I've heard of people heating one up with a blow torch to make it expand slightly, whacking it on (mind you don't burn your fingers) and letting it cool. When it cools down it'll be rock solid and a doddle to take off. A piccie of the bolt might help if all that fails. -
<< ...............then go head to head with the guy who posted before me, eh Colin? >> Any time matey. The first lesson was free but I'll be charging from now on. Got to pay for my mods somehow.

Not my first scoob but defo my best, my current whip is a my99 STI5 Type R. My last one was a silver uk 97 and boy was I clueless. Didn't know a thing about them before I bought it and ran it for 3 years on Safeway petrol and £10 brake pads (I'm not joking). I thought it was great and when I sold it I alway told myself I'd have another one. I was actually looking for an Evo VI when the Type R was brought to my attention, it was too much of a bargain to pass up. Or so I thought. The car itself has been great but the modding bug has bitten hard and its cost me more than a few bob recently. I haven't even driven it for a couple of months but the wait is nearly over and it'll be back with a bang soon. 1. GUMBALL ..............04 STI WR BLUE 2. WRXMANIA ...........03 WRX SILVER 3. Was going to buy one over the weekend but opted for an avcr instead. Time to start saving again.

Well done mate, every cloud and all that. Glad you could make good use of my slot (that doesn't sound very good does it?) and get the mapping done early. I hope you told him to keep his best work for me? -
Don't tell Andy that.
-
<< you are getting into the 12's and your car is standard well done >> Cheers mate. Yes it was standard, not even a decat or air filter. Hoping for better the next time as it's had a few choice mods since then.
-
I just made it into the 12's the last time I ran at Crail. The car was totally standard then so you need about 280bhp, or maybe a bit less as it was my first time and I'm sure there's room for improvement.
-
I'm from Bargeddie and there always seems to be loads about.

Don't worry about me mate. Will try and make the reccie tho but I don't know about a tarmac debut, I'll be happy if I can keep it on the tarmac. Anyway, remember what I said. It's standard, well nearly standard. -
Wow. Anyone want to buy a type r?
-
There's a guy (911) on Scoobynet who upgraded to a sti8 i/c and is running 407bhp through it. Thats on a 20g though.
-
What should the next modification be then?
colin_ross replied to the squiggle's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Looks like you've got a few options to me, 1 - If you're defo selling it put it up on the owners club web sites with the printout from Dastek confirming it's 300 bhp status (can't see you missing that with all the mods onboard) 2 - If you're selling it to the great unwashed patch up the door and arch and put the loudest dump valve on it you can find. Refit the back seat and anything else you stripped for weight saving. Obviously take all the quality parts off first and put them aside. Cry like a little girl as you see your car become a shadow of its former self. 3 - HARDCORE OPTION. Cash in your pension, look down the back of the sofa for any spare change, take all your ginger bottles back, sell all the furniture (and the house you used to keep it in) and start buying everything on the wish list. 2.33 engine, sequencial box, 18" buddy club wheels with p-zeros, carbon bodywork (painted matt black), 10 pots, stack dials etc, etc, etc. Oh, and a box of choccies for Imy if there's any cash left over. -

They should have checked the fuelling through a wide band sensor (up the exhaust) when on the rollers. It might just be engine noise or the sensor might not be fitted correctly, its might be a lot of things but I'd get it checked out. Also, do you add the NF before or after you fill up the tank? If its after the booster might just be sitting in the u-bend instead of being flushed into the tank.
-
What booster are you running it on or has it been remapped? Type R's are infamous for det if the fueling is not right.
-
You needing parts from my undertray to finish it off?
-
Ah my gone but not forgotten i/c. Looks like you've made a cracking job getting that square peg into your slantly hole mate. Like you say looks like its always been there, and you managed to keep the strut brace. Roll on the rolling road day.
