I've always had problems controlling my weight, it's been the hardest to control since I gave up smoking 3 years ago. But I've learnt some things along the way with a little help from a good friend of mine.....
If you don't eat, your body will know about it.
It starts to build up a resistance to starving yourself and you don't end up losing any weight.
Your body is a smart thing, so don't treat it like an idiot
You need to balance your carbs, fat and protein Jac.
You need your carbs for energy, but you need the right carbs. Brown carbs, bread, porridge, wholemeal pasta are all slow release carbs which will benefit your more than white.... white carbs just tend to bloat you.
Fruit and Veg are both carbs too
Try to have a higher protein intake than carbs, but don't stuff yourself full of fatty proteins like burgers or sausages. Grilled Chicken, Fish, Seafood are all good examples.
Your body does need fat, but a certain amount and make sure you don't have too much saturated fat (in crisps, cakes, burgers etc).
I hope that helps
