  5. Hog roasts draw in the crowds I understand, along with mince and apple pies Having had a large amount of input with Unity's Christmas Open Event, I'd suggest something either on a Saturday which allows more families to attend, or during the week on a night that could be your usual monthly meet date. The later you get into the year the more likely you'll struggle to get numbers to commit due to Christmas being round the corner. (Assuming they are Pro-R retailers) see if they can get some of the Pro-R demonstrators and reps there to be on hand to discuss their products. Hope that helps a bit
  6. Hi guys, hope you're all good Sorry I've not replied sooner, been having some personal time and was away on my hollibobs Having a BBQ sounds like a cracking idea. Here's some food for thought: Choose a date that wont conflict too closely with any other events to encourage as many people to attend as possible; Set the date and stick to it - book early to avoid disappointment; Choose a location that has all facilities on offer, especially if it's going to include families (maybe near a zoo or other attractions); Agree food/drink arrangements (bring your own etc, keeps costs down); Chip in for charcoal, condiments etc; Organise entertainment for children and adults; Now, you're main issue if you decide to do a camping/night stop over somewhere is that you'll need to find somewhere that accepts group bookings, or as some call them "rallies". My local club found this to be an issue last year, this is mainly due to other campers on the same site and noise restrictions. If you find a location that accepts group bookings then you're onto a winner as you wont need to pay for any additional facilities - ie loos etc. An issue regarding Trax is that this show is on a Sunday so anyone wanting to stop over would need to take a days annual leave on the Monday and I'm not sure many would be keen on that. Silverstone does have camping facilities now but I'm not sure it's something they'd offer on the Sunday seeing as it's only a one day show. Most shows/events wont allow BBQ's on site due to health and safety so having the get together at a show may pose to be difficult. A suggestion..... Organise something low key this year and maybe look at arranging something bigger next year alongside a big event (Japfest, RallyDay, Trax etc) which will allow you more time to plan time off work, make arrangements for a large attendance, it may even make it easier to choose a date. Just my 2p worth. Good luck
  7. Great photos guys, looks like you all had a cracking day Now, who's going to do a write up for the next issue of True Grip?

  9. The SIDC were invited to take part in Japfest 2012's 10th Anniversary Cavalcade! The quote for the Japfest website: There were around 22 of us IIRC and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised, expecting one slow lap but actually getting four rather spirited laps was an awesome experience. Here's the video of us coming into the pit: And some pictures of us lining up for our track session: And on track doing the parade:

  15. News release just out.... SUBARU ANNOUNCES PRICING AND SPEC FOR BRZ SPORTS CAR ■Prices ranging from £24,995 to £27,995 ■Choice of two specification levels: SE and SE Lux ■Six-speed manual transmission or six-speed auto with paddle shift ■Torque-sensing limited slip differential ■Comprehensive Subaru ETCo aftercare with every new car Subaru UK has today announced highly competitive prices and a choice of two model variants for its new BRZ sports car, ahead of its arrival in UK showrooms in the summer. The BRZ has already been acclaimed for delivering a thoroughbred driving experience, thanks to its light weight, low centre of gravity, superb rear-wheel-drive chassis balance, and high-revving 2.0 litre Boxer engine. With on-the-road prices confirmed at just £24,995 to £27,995, it will also offer great value for money. Giving customers a good choice in interior equipment and trim levels, the Subaru BRZ will be offered from launch in two model variants: 2.0i SE, and 2.0i SE Lux with a choice of a six-speed manual or, for £1,500 more, a six-speed automatic with paddle shift operation. A more basic S model is anticipated for launch in 2013. Both the SE and SE Lux will come equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, a sophisticated torque-sensing limited slip differential and fully automatic air conditioning with dual-zone controls. The SE and SE Lux also feature electrically-folding door mirrors with heaters; keyless Smart Entry with push-button engine start; leather-trimmed steering wheel, parking brake and gearshift lever; and a high-quality six-speaker audio system with CD, radio and iPod connectivity. In addition to all these features, the SE Lux also has heated leather seats. There are just two optional extras: Pioneer satellite navigation (£1,000) and special paint finishes (£500). Six bodywork colours will be available: Satin White Pearl, Sterling Silver Metallic, Dark Grey Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, San Remo Red, and WR Blue Mica. To further enhance the ownership experience, all Subaru BRZ buyers will be entitled to Subaru’s unique Everything Taken Care of (ETCo) aftercare package, the most comprehensive in the UK. At no additional cost, Subaru ETCo covers minor dent and scratch repairs, alloy wheel repairs, monthly wash, annual valet, lost keys replacement, service collection and delivery, annual wheel alignment check, first MOT cover, and winter wheel and tyre storage, as well as providing an accident management service and a contribution to insurance cover excess. Subaru ETCo is offered in addition to Subaru’s three-year / 60,000-mile manufacturer warranty. Marketing Director of Subaru UK, Kenyon Neads, commented: “There is huge interest in the Subaru BRZ, heightened by very positive press reviews of the car so far. Early demand is strong so we fully expect that some early customers will have to wait some months for delivery, especially during 2012, but we have no doubt they will agree it will be worth the wait.” For more information about the BRZ or the rest of the Subaru model range, visit www.subaru.co.uk/brz. 17. A member on here??! I'm really sorry to hear you've traveled that far with such a disappointing outcome. I was in a similar situation last year and lost over £200. Some people are so dishonest
  18. Welcome to SIDC Sam. Good luck with your purchase of the UK300. Hopefully we'll see you at an event this year with your new Scoob
