Thanks for all the advice guys !

Don't think so.................my aim was that the scooby anoraks in here may be able to help out as the current brake set up is causing MOT failure ( cables too short and fouling supposedly - even though they have been on for years and have passed previous MOT's) Anyway - I now have a nice excuse to get new discs & pads allround but I need some info on the braking set up Cheers Cal
-
Haha ! Found this thread via Google ! Guess who needs new pads and discs ! Wilky - I am going to upgrade to braided lines .......Do you know if the hoses were standard classic lines or custom jobbies ( ie wrx on one end & brembo/cupra @ the other ?) PICS here :- http://calum-shand.fotopic.net/c1626019.html Thanks Cal

Sterling effort folks and great pics ! There's gonna be some very happy faces in that Hospital !

Awesome indeed ! I like the Alistair Darling style "spend our way out of the credit crunch" assault on this car ! Always welcome luxurious spending on this forum. It's sheer indulgence
-
Cheers - they are the business - 132 Euros = 113.178622 British pounds to get delivered so I need to ponder this purchase. MOT due soon which may have a bearing on my expenditure ! They certainly fit the bill in terms of practicality !

I forgot to plug in the jack but I did have the microphone in the cabin for banter/engine & induction noise In the raw footage you just get wind noise and the DV blowing off Welshy - I never asked but they clocked it , inspected it and were fine with it CGS

For got to say that I'll rip ya a new erse on the twisties but it will be goodnight Vienna on the straights ! Will be good footage though !
-
I think the only footage I ever posted was some crap stuff around the backroads ? regardless I still think it's shnae too bad. I think it was from about 2006 When I retire I'll make a 3 hour SIDC epic with the near terrabytes worth of footage I have "I'll make ya famous !" Cal p.s anyone remember the Mad March Run footage ? It was epic.

What a tool I am - I didn't read this thread at all until now and the whole Sabelt issue has kinda been covered already - DOH !

Ignore the above - I forgot about this http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=124728

Sony HandyCam TRV 22E ( suffers almost zero interference despite the g being pulled) Mount is the top one in this link http://www.cameragrip.co.uk/acatalog/Camco...ion_Mounts.html We did a similiar thing with my mates 1972 Mini with V-tec engine but I have yet to get the tape and process this One thing for sure with the SIDC in the last 2-3 years - we are doing less and less runs due to increasing media & police attention - 'tis a sad day but livelihoods are at stake The keener eye'd amongst you will notice that the car was running RE070's with that lovely stiff sidewall - those tyres are immense. I rode the kerbs a few times but it was quite daunting to think that my gear my simply drop off and get smashed tae smithereens Cheers fellas

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SiqTt_1P_vs Quite neat eh ! Bear in mind I was warming up for the first few laps and had a few hundred pounds worth of kit hangin' off the side. Hope to repeat this again with The Patriot with the effin' mic running inside the cabin this time ! Catch ye The CalCam

Decided that I'll buy em' and then buy a bucket seat at some point too......seems to be the way to go Any recommendations for a poor man's bucket seat that works well in a Scooby ?

Quote Cal in 2007 - "C'moan Natalie...... it's a once in a lifetime trip" Quote Cal in 2008 - "C'moan Natalie ....my brothers emigrating to Calgary and this will be a good lad's holiday as a send off" Quote Cal in 2009 - "C'moan Natalie - it's an annual pilgrammage to Gods of Aspalt in the Eifel Mountains !" Let's get something sorted as I wanna let rip again with some decent brakes, tyres and handling ! P-A-R-T-why................cos I gotta ! -
Scottie - I still have footage of this slag at Knockhill - I'll see if I can dig it out because the sound/ acceleration was the shiznick !!! Are you "aff it" in terms of getting into modding n' cars again ? Cheers Cal

Good post - I am not interested in bling but I love the feeling of being pinned in. You can really steer with ease when you're not using your arms to support the lateral weight transfer I'm not sure if we'll ( Scottish Scoobies) ever come to a collective conclusion on this one CGS

Allow me the liberty of regurgitating this prime jackanory of a thread folks ........... Has anyone any plans to hit The Ring in 2009 - I single out G-unit above but the Chinese 500 has also mentioned such a mission too...... Will we ever get a Scottish Scoobies - Spa - Ring tour going on or has the Credit Crunch nailed the door shut ? The decision is yours ..... Cal -
Cheers Ed - not so sure about this hole spine compression theory and like you say there is still uncertainty. This install is quite neat but again relies on anchor points too low down ( ??) http://bbs.22b.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?...t=000593#000001 I think in all honesty I may just go with the CG lock because when I have been in a Caterham before the harness rode up when I hauled hard on the shoulder straps

I was out in -2 deg this morning and the car was going like a nuclear powered train - I was just stretching it's legs whilst it was dry outside though because 1.4 bar of boost and icey conditions are not a good mix ! My old boy used to have a Rolls Royce ( Chauffeur Business) and he always reckoned it would run like a dream in the cool summaer evenings just after dusk

Assuming you have the option to remove the back seats.............would you be inclined to weld some plate /hooks ( Demon Tweak) jobbies along the back (topside) of the rear seat ? Welding in & around the fuel pump neck of the woods could be interesting though !
-
Found this on NASIOC :- Still unsure whether to tell Santa to make a pit stop at the Sabelt or the CG LOck website but pleae keep the info /pics coming edit - crappy spelling
-
Thanks for the pics Welsho - I am torn as to what to do now given the constructive debate......... I could always whip out the back seats and weld in some form of anchor point I presume ?
-
Thanks guys - perhaps this might make sense too :- http://www.machevo.com/sphabar.html Welshy - wish I'd never punted the Defi's but glad they all work tickety boo. Often a worry when you've removed leccy items ! What harness are you using ? Any pics of the install ? CGS
