  1. I wonder if the credit crunch has buried them ? Bloody hope not - I have 6 GB of photos on there that my friends & family frequent. Average 80 visits a day with over 100,000 pics viewed per year Does anyone know any facts about them ? Web is full of news but hoping some of the SLR whores know what's really going on ? Cheers Cal
  2. I am indeed - here's a few apps you MUST install http://dynolicious.com/ ( do and Andy Forrest style dyno session) http://www.appletell.com/apple/comment/mea...d-touch-review/ http://www.tioti.com/ ( allows you to record Sky Plus via your iPhone) http://www.shazam.com/music/web/pages/iphone.html http://www.macworld.com/article/137430/showtimes.html http://www.compulab.de/iphone/cs2.html http://iphone.facebook.com/ I simply cannot get over how good it is. Over Xmas I redeemed an iTunes voucher and downloaded loads of stuff over to the iphone via my parents Wi_fi ENJOY !!
  3. Thanks for the heads up ! One of my favourite editions with the GT3 RS, A Martin & Lambo across Europe
  4. I buckled and bought 16Gb one today............still chargin' it for a good 3 hrs before switching on. I was finally roused into purchasing after seeing this dyno application http://www.zercustoms.com/news/iPhone-Dyno-Application.html It's not going to be accurate but really does show how mesmerizingly powerful the programming applications are ! Thanks for all of the advice guys !
  5. some info here :- http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=443943 wrapping advice :- http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/engine-modif...at-turbo-2.html I think I ran an HKS up-pipe on my bugeye after running a ported classic one for a while Hope this helps CGS
  6. This thread has been more useful to me than any Googling to date. Sooooooooo many negative people leave comments on the web and those who are happy just get on with it. As a consequence, Google generates lots of whingers. In any case, I think it's time to go iPhone for the following reasons 1. I have a Mac so syncing should be a doddle 2. I love gadgets and customising things - the lure of all these apps is muchos appealing 3. whilst I may not take a huge amount of photos on my phone I do show a lot of them to family & friends in which case the iphone to iphoto sync should be excellent 4. I never really use any calendar features in the k850i because typeing text is quite fiddily My last 7 phones have been Ericssons though so I shall miss the mega battery life, intuitive functionality, camera quality, robustness. Cheers folks Cal
  7. I have not done anything yet - that was just a random quote I found........ The lure of the iphone is strong indeed Stephen - despite all of it's shortfalls it's sooooo customisable I have had mobiles since 1995 or so...... and this iphone 3G is such a huge leap. Having researched more it seems the battery life can be prolonged more by switching off lots of the functionality I'll maybe pay them a visit in the morning and see what they have to say Cheers for the advice folks Cal
  8. Might give this a whirl and force my phone to go dual band when I am in the house - the signal is not that bad to be fair but comes and goes when I am downstairs. In my mother in-laws house the signal is woeful and I have to stand on top of a small wall outside to get a decent signal :- Quote from Money Supermarket e: End of Orange contract imminent Reply Quote Spam Giant, I'd start the process now. You have to give 30 days notice (roughly) although you can say that you want it to finish at the end of your agreed contract if you can give about 3 weeks notice. I followed this procedure and would advise the same: * Call Orange and say you are coming to the end of the contract and ask how they will accept cancellation: over the phone or by letter?; but say you are going to look around for a couple of days first as you have 'seen' various deals and phones at other networks - personally I will never deal with a 3rd party like Carphone Warehouse again. * Ask for your PAC code as you plan to keep your number if you leave. It is your legal right (I believe) so they cannot deny you this. It expires after 30 days and you dont have to use it if you stay with Orange. This should be given to you over the phone and then confirmed by a letter. * Start looking around for the phone you want and see which networks offer this - with me, it was only 2 networks - and find a deal that gives you the tariff you want. I, and others on here, would advise away from chequeback/cashback deal as it inevitably leads to hassle and not getting the great deal you expected. * Using the information you have on the deal and phone you want, phone Orange (use SAY NO TO 0870 website) and say that you are looking to cancel and "What can you offer me to stay?". They'll put you through and offer you something which probably isn't that great. Say you think you can get better elsewhere. NOW YOU HAVE A CHOICE HERE - follow through and have your contract cancelled at it's expiry if you are sure you can get a better deal elsewhere OR you can play the waiting game for a couple of days - if you want to stay at Orange. * You should start recieving calls from other networks but more importantly from Orange themselves trying to keep you. This is where you can haggle and get THE best deal (and phone) Orange can offer you. Compare this to other networks and then I'd say to "give me a call after 24 hours as I need to talk to ??? (say a network you are comparing them with) as they offered you a better deal". * In the next 24 hours call the other relevant networks stating what you have been offered and see if any can better it. * Orange will call back where you can tell them yes or no. If yes, make sure they waiver any cancellation fee and make sure you know when your new contract starts. If no, make sure your contract is cancelled at expiration and you know when your PAC code will also expire as you want to take your number with you. That's what I did and I stayed with the network I was on already. I've cut out the middle man now though and pay £10 a month for unlimited texts, 750 mins, a top of the range phone and a contract for only 12 months!
  9. Thanks Dougs - I shall bear that in mind. I'd hate to loose my number or incur extra grief !
  10. Thanks guys - Ofcom do a great website that shows you where your local antennae are :- http://www.sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk/ Does anyont who has an iPhone care to comment on it's performance ? 11. Just binned Orange after 7 years of service..........signal indoors is pretty poor but outdoors it's excellent. What's your thoughts on :- iphone on 02 versus Ericsson C905 on Vodaphone I have to wait for my PAC code before I decide who to run with..... Thanks Cal

  14. Don't think so.................my aim was that the scooby anoraks in here may be able to help out as the current brake set up is causing MOT failure ( cables too short and fouling supposedly - even though they have been on for years and have passed previous MOT's) Anyway - I now have a nice excuse to get new discs & pads allround but I need some info on the braking set up Cheers Cal
  15. Haha ! Found this thread via Google ! Guess who needs new pads and discs ! Wilky - I am going to upgrade to braided lines .......Do you know if the hoses were standard classic lines or custom jobbies ( ie wrx on one end & brembo/cupra @ the other ?)
