  1. Scooby Doom - good post............I think you'll find the complete opposite in here as you have pointed out. I for one, welcome you in here for alternative points of view, good information & harmless banter. So please post more and I look forward to meeting you []. Do you have shiny bottomed strides or are you a regular officer out of interest ? Cheers Cal
  2. Ride is firm but not crashy..........I would describe it as pliant. Steering feel is dampened at low speeds but at 30mph plus it feels way more responsive. They are gonna send me the geo settings print-out in the post Cost for springs was £165 for springs ( but got SIDC discount of 10% ) plus two hours labour @ SIDC rate ( £90) + VAT. The Geo set up was £89 Peter - see you up there brother [H] CGS
  3. Yip, a robust post my friend.........................lets keep any shenanigans & showboating for Knockhill [au] Been close to losing my license in the past ( just totting up basic motorway SP30's) but it makes you value your job, house & car ........ Rgds Calum
  4. Got these fitted today along with two new rear shocker and then full prodrive geo settings...............Hawt diggity ! [<)] Observations as follows :- less pitch and dive during acceleration way less roll ( almost neglible) on beds car corners a lot flat and thus mair grip all round confidence in the wet is greatly increased car feels planted at 70 mph + initial turn in is tremendous mud flaps may need hoisted up a notch they do not bottom out even at high speeds over a series of washborad style bumps look a bit "pimpier" with the 30mm drop. So brakes, suspension and power are pretty sorted for now. Very useable every day driver at the moment. I said I would not do anymore modding but cannot get Defi's oot of my heid just now..............Tried the louder exhaust route ( for 20 mins) On track @ KH on Sunday to test the car.........I hope it's wet ! CGS
  5. Seems strange that some posts have gone walkies here ?
  6. Some more observations after some post work full boost B-road attacks :- car feels faster yet car feels quieter car feels more solid i.e probably cos I hear less noise I dont'g get the same slight increase in revs when i lift off like i did before on occasion car does has not produced a single pop yet ( therefore AFR is probably spot on now) I cannot scare pedestrians anymore So in some ways I prefer it off but I badly miss the ttttshhh ! CGS
  7. I removed mine and sold it last night........really miss the noise but I am keeping hold of my car so want to keep it in the best possible condition. Even my exhaust seems quieter now..........all in the mind I suppose ! Doubt I will get the same pops and bangs...........getting prodrive springs and alignment done on Friday so that will restore the grin [H] CGS
  8. 1 - If your sidelights won't switch off look for the parking light switch on top of the steering column . 2 - Use the search function on the forum before asking the same old question . 3 - The best first mod for an impreza is the exhaust (backbox at least) 4 - Buy a newage 5 - Make sure you get regular quality oil / filter changes every 3 - 4000 miles 6 - Always run the car on good quality fuel - V Power/BP Ultimate/Tesco 99 and add octane booster for safety in an unremapped import 7 - Avoid "chip"ing an impreza - get it remapped by an expert like Andy Forrest (Apexi for classics, ECUtek for newage) 8 - Sell the Newage and buy a Classic 9 - Always wait till the engine is nice and warm before giving it full pelt and let it cool down befrore switching it off 10 - Upgrade your brakes before modding the engine 11 - A VTA dumpvalve isnt really a good idea unless your car is getting remapped to compensate for it. It will momentarily make your car run rich as the ecu gives fuel for air which has been dumped and not recirculated. All you are missing is the gay noise. 12 - Solid rear droplinks and a decent suspension geometry set-up are probably one of the best sub-£100 modifications you can do to a standard car. 13. new ages will undertseer when at the limit 14. If you have a classic get Strutt Braces. The improvement is outstanding! If you have a new age...no luck! loL! 15. Clean out the boost solenoid once in a while and dont fill engine oil right up to max. 16.Go to the SIDC track days at knockhill, you get free tuition from an instructor if you want (plus ensure you wear Cat boots far better that way!!!!) 17. Love every minute of driving and owning it (it will make handing over the credit card much easier 18. Goto meets/Knockhill/Crail and tell us who you are?We don't bite sometimes:P]" src="/emoticons/emotion-4.gif"> 20.Join the SIDC and you'll get discounts on insurance and dealer supplied parts in addition to track days. 19. For some obscure reason there is a lot of mention of goats & homosexuals in here. Do NOT let this put you off our forums. 99% of our members are "normal" but we are all fans of The Hoff.
  9. I have a very simple solution............... Let's all grow Mullets for the purposes of SIDC identification ! []
  10. Beware that PPP high flow cats from the STi do not fit a WRX. I have tried in the past and the brackets were not the same plus it was not a perfect fit. The PPP cat is also 200 cell whereas the Ninja & Thundercat are 100 cell. £299 for the Ninja is a good price in my opinion CGS
  11. Yip - it's just the tailpipe that's different. WR is oval with WR embossed on the end. You can always pick em up on Ebay at much cheapness CGS
  12. Just sent one off - 1 hr and 5 mins till the "lines" close !
  13. Get them fitted @ Altens Tyre Services - 3 of the workers there have Scoobies hence you are in good hands. There's a guy called Peter who fitted mine and torqued the bolts by hand with loving care. Top bloke who has done a few favours Cal
  14. Bigger Piccy for ya fellas ......... Cal
  15. That sounds sweet - I had the same WR Sport / decat pipe combo last year and loved it ! Incidentally, I "borrowed" an Afterburner backbox for 20 minutes befor I whipped it back off. It was a joke - sounded immense but i felt like a c0ck in my works car park ( especially after I set off a car alarm) It was way too bassy but weirdly at motorway revs it wasn't too intrusive "! The ScoobySport is back on a sounds very similiar to the WR Sport BB. Just a nice compromise between burble and bonkers. CGS
  16. Toyo T1R's all the way - good in the wet, great in the dry and have a harder shoulder then the T1-S's picture above Good year get rave reviews too. Tyre deals in the member section too. If you are paying a lot fo those rims be fussy who fits the tyres dude ! CGS
  17. James Conn near Morrisons / Lemontree of King Street - very good service 01224 635 735 CGS
  18. and fitted to an Evo in dark colour ......... pure sax !
  19. They are much hawtness as the yanks say ! CGS
  20. Any idea what sorta rims this bad boy will be wearing ? I know they will be 18'' but wonder if they will be PFF7's or like those found on the Litchfield ( Enkei I think) CGS
  21. Any pictures of these you pimpy thang ? They will look immense !
  22. Better video here from The CalCam http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=48...704&q=sti+7 CGS
  23. If you are turning up the boost then I would add a Samco intercooler hose to your list. The standard one is cheap, thin and does not promote the best airflow :- http://www.scoobymods.comforumsshowthread.phpt=5660 Cal
  24. Twa just thinking tonight that we ought to have another meet up [H]
