  13. Hi Craig Looks towards the end of this thread for more info http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/827307/ShowPost.aspx Cheers Calum
  14. Yeah I suppose I am inclined to agree but I suppose you are ultimely paying for all of the testing, Cosworth involvement etc etc. But when you compare £40k to an M3 it seems like a bargain. Was is the Spec C version they had ? http://www.type-25.co.uk/ For £30k you could probably build an equivalent car though ....................whats sorta warranty does the T25 come with Cheers CGS
  15. doh...............posted about the Litchfield Type 25 in the wrong place
  16. Fark........I am in the Netherlands just now so will have to wait a day to see this............no doubt it will get onto Youtube at some point though ! Where did he drive the car - road, track or both ? CGS
  17. Like I said........you tried to take this pi55 out of me in a public fashion.............so I replied in a public fashion. You now seem to say I am talking nonsense........... I think everyone reading this thread nows the score so I don't need to resort to name calling. My last post on this matter was fairly neutral........you have sadly resorted to name calling despite the fact you wanted to go private. Your comment had nothing to do with CTR's and I never provoked anything. Cal ( still playing nice)
  18. -- See above for edits -- no need for PM's....... if you post off topic crap like that in a public manner I will respond to it in a public manner.
  19. Gaz - try PM'ing the Cusco Kid or see one of the group buys on SN for the drop links. If you can stretch another £100 or so then get the whiteline adjustable rear ARB too. Totally revolutionalises the "understeery" feel of the car............sideways if the new way forward [H]
  20. Read my thread again.............I am talking mainly about TRACK days. I bet you would not piss all over one at KH with someone who is a decent driver or are you talking about beating someone in a straight line at Crail ? Also to claim your car is standard seems pretty daft considering it was chuckin out 250 bhp at the RR - I do remember you posting up a while back to try and ascertain if your car had been fettled with ?? So another point to raise ? Hmmm.............this has feck all to do with CTR's but as you feel you have to bring it up........ a) I had 6 points to contend with - was it worth risking losing my job to keep up with you ? I didn't think so.. I chose to stick to driving below 80 mph whereas your were prepared to go way above that on a NSL road c) your overtaking was rather dubious to say the least d) we were in a convoy with some folk who did not know the route............ME included. e) I reserve my antics for KH where I can exploit my car the full f) I dont have anything to prove to anyone ! g) my car had not received the 1.2 bar treatment from Andy back then ( not that it really matters..) Enough said really...............so let's discuss CTR's in a constructive manner and not dwell on the fact that you were driving dangerously en route to Ellon []. Not online for the rest of the night so no need to reply as I cannot be ersed continuing a debate on this. Merely highlighting that the CTR is very capable and that racing on the road is not cool for cats. Rgds Cal p.s for the record - I now have zero points on my driving license [H]
  21. I would do it if I were you........WRXRich on SN was making over 400bhp with it on his WRX. This was using a TSL Thundercat. I just passed my MOT with flying colours with decatted up-pipe and centre. I used to have a decatted downpipe from H&S. I do not notice any difference between the two. Strangely I do get more pops with the TSL though ?! CGS
  22. That would be my ideal set up. Sports Cats are braw ( if they are good enough for the Litchfield Type 25 then they are good enough for me). The hydrid TD04 is also an immense piece of kit that will easily yield 320 but spool up VERY quickly ! Speak to Bing as he has done something very similiar to what you have planned. CGS
  23. Hmmmm.......................having nailed numerous Elises and Scoobies on KH over 2 years I reckon they are an absolute weapon on track. I have videos from 2003 where 3 CTR's pissed all over 75% of the Hot Marques attendees that day ( Ian Baines & Stevie McShannon at the helm). They have a great chassis, brakes that could embaress a Porsche ( as shown on 5th Gear years ago) and bullet proof engines.Yes they have poor torque but when the 6 speed gear box is worked by someone who knows what they are doing with it the V-tec can be fairly versatile. So in my opinion, the CTR is an better track tool than say a standard bug-eye. The true is reverse on a wet B-road but on a dry road there would not be much in it. I would be faster at KH in a CTR than a buggy given the same conditions. ( just ask Wilky who was surprised at my turn of pace through the bends when he was in his RA) Dougster is correct in saying that they would benefit from an LSD. At the KH hairpin you cannot lay down the power to any great effects until the wheels are almost in a straight line. But throw £2k at a CTR and £2k on a bugeye and the story is very different........ I went for a CTR as I was doing 350 miles a week back then. Now I am doing 100 miles or so a week so I am sticking with the car I have always longed for ......... So in summary, to say a CTR is pants is a tad nieve IMHO. CGS
