Hello there folks, I am trying to get my AVC-R fitted but I cant find a pin out diagram anywhere so I can find out which wires to cut I can find the diagrams for the 04 sti no problem with the 4 plug connection at the back but mine is a 5 plug version presumably as I gave DCCD and the newer model is no good either as the Hawkeye is fly by wire, so different again anyways the car is a 2005 STI and the label on the ECU reads as follows B4 22611AJ840 12200-8830 Any help in finding a diagram would be greatfuly received Graeme

Hey Grant, when did you change your name from Eric? or is Eric just an alter ego? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNknWT-agT0 I also heard he has just gone out and bought this too!!! http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h...l%3Den%26sa%3DG

Ye its fun in the snow ps turn yer speakers up Graeme

When Grant first described the car to me I was almost sick with a picture of pure boggingness in my mind ( yellow, graphics and bloomin 3 spoke alloys) but when we pulled up at the sellers address I was amazed to find that I actually quite liked the car and that the overall package works realy quite well, looks far better in the flesh than the photos but that low front shot does make it look like a right fat pie I just need to start puting some cash away now so when one of the remaining four come up for sale I can jump in there with a cheeky wee bid As said before, I look forward to seeing her in action once Andy has given her a full bill of health and a wee tweek or two. I wouldnt like to think how much this cost Trial to build, even in today's terms where alot of the mods can be had cheeper than in 1997 ps Grant yer still a tart
-
AND I was sooooo wanting to have a go with that new GTR, but no I stayed with Grant as he was worried about something or another falling off or blowing up. So nothing fell off and nothing blew up and I didnt get to give a GTR owner a fright that a lardy assed Subaru could possibly keep up (would have found out either way but I didnt). oh well, theres always a next time Graeme

70!, 70 you say!!!!, I wish!!!!, ma cars 420ish bhp and I got 200 miles out of less than 3/4 of a tank, my granny could drive faster and she is 96 and never had a driving licence....lmao. Na was thre run was no too bad, not used to this stopping lark every 50 or 60 miles, more used to stopping only after 300 - 400 miles Cars looking good, look forward to seeing it perform after Mr F has worked his magic on it and given it a clean bill of health. Imy, get the pics up!!!!! Me

Realy sad news these people should have their fingers broken. Unfortunately as its a numbered ltd edition I dont see the car being found whole, I recon it will be parts by now, sad I know. Hope these tossers get caught Graeme

SIDC is a good place to start but I find it quite difficult to find what im wanting usually http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/ Main differences between WRX and STI (UK ones anyway) are that the STI has 6 speed gearbox (alot stronger than the normal 5 speed) less restrictive exhaust (doesnt matter as you change it anyway) stronger engine internals does not have tumble delete valves in inlet manifold stronger clutch (didnt help me I wrecked my standard clutch in 14.5K miles ) larger injectors larger turbo larger top mount stronger drivetrain 4 pot brembo's with 330mm disks at the front and and 2 pot Brembos at the back slightly higher rpm limit better heads better suspension (although the rears always tend to knock) different steering rack too I think the STI interior and sti clocks slightly wider wheels 8J opposed to a 7.5J wheel (225 tyre opposed to a 215 tyre) in the case of 05 onwards 114.3 pcd (ie different hubs and wrx wheels wont fit the sti as the wrx ones are 100pcd) DCCD roll it right back into the open position and its almost like a rwd car, played with it in the snow and rolled it forward 3 notches and mucho controlability to be had then) 10mm wider track at the rear I only realy take it off auto when im on the track and whenever it snows or im on wet slippy grass etc, if you play with the DCCD you car almost dial out the understeer, granted you do get a little when you are getting close to the edge but just put your foot down and you have some nice oversteer erm I thats all I can remember off the top of my head
-
yea on the subarus they are but the new new version is black I think. They are the same caliper that is fitted to Evo's some alfas and quite a few more cars Graeme
-
wouldnt bother me, I would probably have a poke about the areas that were painted to make sure that the owner wasnt telling porkies but to repaint the front end to get rid of stone chips is a sign of an enthusiast in my book Paint away I say! Graeme
-
Na the brembo's are a standard fit on all STI's from 2001 onwards
-
Jim deff a 5 or a 6 for me purely on looks and the fact that there "almost" newages :) If my car didnt stand me so much I think I would be going down the same lines. Hindsight is a wonderfull thing eh!!
