yea DCCD is a superb piece of kit, on auto it just wants to understeer everywhere unless you give it welly. rolled it right back to open and the car is more or less RWD but roll it forward 3 notches and its just brilliant, ive started uploading some of my poor attempts with my cameraphone onto my photobucket so should get the squiggle posted up later. Ikea was superb with 3 drift tracks, but there was a few a*** clenching moments as the car got a wee bit too close to comfort to the trolly park, shame the truck drivers now use the big open part of the carpark as a sleeping spot boo hisss....lol. LOL Pedro You dont need to be a man to do the 1/4 mile, the real test of manhood is going round corners way too fast enough not planning on doing much of the 1/4 mile as i have already broken 2 clutches and I far prefer going round corners on the limit of traction Graeme

Hello there Grant Im running an exedy twin plate Hyper compe D clutch so should be strong enough for what im going to throw at it, been in the car for a month Neil - The intercooler is leaking as when I went to clean the oil residue out it petrol came piddling out of the top right hand corner. Andy told me it is possible to re crimp the edges back down so I will give that a try when I get home and go for a map tweek so i wont be running lean. All other mods ar on hold at the moment as I have to pay the final payment for the car in Feb £7300 !! (would be lucky to get much more than that if I were to sell the car in the current climate ffs) All in the fullness of time Graeme

Yup one of the best mods you can do styling wise Good on ya Graeme

no no no, dont bother with that, get down and see Wully at Meercat and get him to make you a nice wee exhaust, quite a few of the folk on here have his exhausts, full system is about £550ish heres mine I found it a bit loud at the start coming from the standard setup, but I then fitted a set of GT spec 2 headers which quietened it down a bit, I dont find the exhaust noisey at all now, infact I couldnt see me with any other exhaust. Meercat exhausts come with a lifetime guarentee also as far as im aware I stand to be corrected but cars with this exhaust get consistantly good power gains I'm sure Alister and Colin Mcrae had an exhaust made there. http://www.meercat-exhausts.com/ Graeme

That looks superb!!!!!! Ive always wanted to do that, definitely one of the things i want to do before im in incontinence pants....lol, but saying that, they might be of some use whilst jumping out a good airplane!!!!! Bungee jujmping on the other hand, thats just something I could never do. Graeme

Nope, not touched the internals. I think the newages should be good for around the 500bhp mark as long as fueling and other supporting mods are spot on like oil cooler etc if money allows the next round should see Solaris oil cooler 2nd fuel pump, and probably a swirl pot as i used to get fuel surge at half a tank round the hairpin at knockhill. front mount, possibly with rotated manifold depending on which kit i go for and again depending on how much cash I have spare And toying with Aquamist as Jim has had some nice results with his, also for a bit of added safety We shall see, not going to think about it too much untill after the car is payed off in Feb Graeme

Alright folks just thought I would post up how i got on the other day through at Andy's best figure was 432bhp 407 lbs-ft torque from the T+ running 30% E85 and 3ml per L of fuel and the car pulls like a train. 1 bar of boost by 3100 rpm and 1.6 - 1.65 bar by 3300 rpm which is pretty dam good for a MD321T+ but Andy did say that my car can do strange things with turbos and makes them perform better than they should We had an air leak somewhere and couldnt find it so Andy had to be a bit more creative to get the fueling right, got home and checked the intercooler (easiest place to start) by giving it a clean out as there was some oil in it anyway and to my amazement the petrol started leaking out the seams...lol. Andy told me not to fix it if i found it as I would end up running lean and probably melt something...oh well. At least the intercooler is an easy fix as its just needing the crimps cripmed back down and all should be fine. Andy was saying the main limiting factors now are my ECU, and lack of boost controler as he cant give me any more boost on the stock ECU as it only reads up to 1.75 bar and he needs to leave a wee bit in reserve so the ECU can detect any boost spikes. He was saying that if he mapped the car right up to the 1.75 bar and if I were to get a boost surge the ECU would not see it and I would blow myself up so on that note im glad he only mapped it to 1.6 - 1.65 bar. If I had a boost controller and 3 port boost solenoid he could have given me a bit more boost. During the mapping session Andy was finding it hard to control the boost and at one point i even saw my boost gauge do a full 360!!!! lol. on a posative note, when the car did over boost a tad to somewhere well over 2 bar Andy didnt hear any det what so ever. We ended up going back to his place to change the restrictor as he thought the one that was fitted was too restrictive which proved to be correct and all was well. On the way home during some spirited gear changine 3rd-4th up to 6500 rpm and reasonably into 5th the check engine light came on but after a while of normal driving went back out. Later that night I wanted to try my launch control with the new turbo (Settings wernt changed and still pings off about 5300 rpm) brought the car onto the launch control, built up the revs, poped the clutch and nothin, the car almost died and i think ive knackered something.as the check engine light came on so I went home and parked it up. Yesterday i went back out to the car as i had to deliver some crimbo pressies to my wee god daughter and all seemed well with the car, all the hoses looked fine under the bonnet and the CEL was off again so naturally I drove slow at the start till the car was nice and warm then gradually started giving it some beans, the car felt great again. On the way home I decided to use the full rev range in a couple of gears and when I booted it in 3rd and 4th the boost tails off to about 1.2 bar over about 4500 - 5000 rpm which I didnt remember it doing before. Will send Andy an e-mail but im just going to bide my time and save up for Solaris as it does not require the AVCR and has the full knock control and full wideband functionality along with being a dam good ECU package and a good front mount and Andy told me I should be good for the high 400's or possibly more if im lucky. I did rush into these mods a bit as I was planning on waiting untill mext year untill I could afford the ECU, front mount and another couple of bits and bobs but once the Turbo and Injectors arrived a sort of red mist decended and i just had to have them fitted RIGHT AWAY Im glad I did as it has highlighted a few issues but the car is still running strong and safe next round should be the middle of next year :D in time for the August Knockhill A still happy Graeme Oh yea forgot about the fuel pump, its still working fine, I thought Greers had fitted a 255 lph Bosch pump a few years ago but Andy was saying that it was still flowing fine and he didnt need to dial in any extra injector duty cycle at the top end, injectors running at 73% on the 800's but did recomend doubling up the pump for next time for added safety I also forgot to say a big thankyou to Jimzer for giving me a hand fitting my fuel pressure regulator, cheers jim

Nice To Know The Gathering Had The Support Of Nasioc
G.Mac replied to G.Mac's topic in Scottish Scoobies
I emailed another moderator before the gathering and he contacted the guy who runs the board several times and never got a response about supporting the gathering, so I think we have done our bit and that forum can be excluded from any information about possible auctions etc etc in the future Graeme -
Alright there folks, I posted a wee thread over on NASIOC and another couple of American sites Highlighting the McRae gathering items grant placed on Ebay with a wee bit about the event, a link to the gathering website and stating all monies raised would go to chartiy but a mod ofer on NASIOC edits my post deleting the links to teh McRae Gathering website, Auctions and the info about the charity and kindly left a responce saying that i required a vendor account to sell on NASIOC obviously the moderator did not take the time to read the whole post and does not give a hoot about charity. Im sure a wee PM or Email to me would have been enough so that i could have explained my post Well NASIOC get it up ye Graeme
