  1. aw man that must have been horrible cant imagine how it would have felt watching scoob no 2 go up like that, esp since scoob no 1 was stolen i'm surprised at a brand new one going on fire, surely that shouldnt have happened. any chance you can get some compensation off the dealer? hope you get thing sorted with the insurance and that its not put you off scoobs. if you decide to go for a third impreza perhaps avoid the GB270 series? they seem to give you nothing but bad luck...
  2. last minute decision last night and Grant, Nanaki and I were up at 0630 this morning to head down to Elvington. was a cracking day, sun splitting the sky and finally driving away the winter blues. the place was like Crail, minus the baltic wind it was good to see how they had set up the sprint, though by the time we arrived they were finishing the warm up/orientation laps and breaking for lunch got to see the Prodrive entry and it went and sounded tho it was strange to see a WR car outside the context of a forest rally. the driver drifted it effortlessly round the course Good to see Andy F do his stuff, his times were getting quicker lap by lap Other entries There was a Forester competing and seemed to have a lot of fun, swinging the thing around the corners I quite liked this glittering paint job this guy was actually 40+ years old Grant helping Andy check some bearing, or wheel thing North Yorkshire Scoobs stand Wulsey - spotted your car but didnt know if you were nearby when we were there there was also a quarter mile for the bikers going on, some of them were doing their run on one wheel Random

  7. aw pet no offence taken. i know its far for you to travel, but its the best alternative to Lanark thats still McRae-related.
  8. Chester random? dude, Chester Racecourse is where Colin McRae won his 95 World Rally Championship. not sure what you mean about "anything else happening that weekend", our thing is going to be a half day shindig, but likely to be minimum one full day if you count the travelling to and from the venue. we wanted to move the handover away from Lanark, didnt feel it was right to get a whole bunch of Subarus up there given the accident report.
  9. i must give a big shout to Al ScoUk and st3ph3n for their help with the new look Gathering website. Grant and I thank you both
  10. The rescheduled presentation of funds to Jimmy McRae will take place on SUNDAY 9 AUGUST 2009 and hope that you can make it. It will take place at CHESTER RACECOURSE, Chester, Cheshire. Although we've moved it away from Lanark, we felt Chester is an appropriate venue for the finale of the Gathering. I know it's further for us to travel to but hopefully you can make a weekend of it. Doors open 12 noon and the presentation will take place at 1pm. More info will be posted on our new look website http://www.mcrae-gathering.co.uk/ once the details have been ironed out and finalised. For those that can't wait until August, Grant has done a little photo montage of the event just to keep you all excited imy

  13. went for a wee run along the coast with the GT-R I was surprised at how long the car is, its bigger than it looks in pics. I had a wee pax ride and its Even though there are so many gadgets and things to set up, it handles so well at the moment its frightening to think of what its capable of when the engine is run in. and Andy, here's a Sepia effect pic for you
  14. check how many dials and button are on the dash and the wheel! its going to take you ages to figure out what they all do
  15. the big stickers were issued for the Gathering no sticker in the front of your car, no entry.
  16. not if you've got one on the front of the car Richie
  17. There are so many threads cropping up with cars being stolen its becoming hard to keep track. Lets start a thread listing the details of car and location, to help us keep an eye open when we're out and about. With luck it should give us just one thread to check if we've spotted something dodgy or want to check something. We can add a link to each individual thread for more info and updates. Feel free to edit/update this list. 9 April 2009, Bike and 17" copper WRX wheels, Aberdeen 8 April 2009, Series McRae, Reg K50BCD, South Queensferry 30 March 2009, Classic WRX, Portobello 24 March 2009, Red wagon, Reg ST51 KWX, Glasgow 10 March 2009, 3 KYB adjustable shocks, Bonnybridge 3 March 2009, Silver Wrx, Reg N898 ALS, Cardrona nr Peebles 23 Feb 09, GB270, No. 233, Cumbernauld
