  1. Go for the 3", it'll help with any mods you do in the future. The turbo won't spool as quick but you'll never notice as it's marginal. i run a 3" system with my standard tdo5 16g and it spools up fine. Johnny
  2. Here Dave, maybe you should have had a word with Colin...lol
  3. Also dave (DRB5) is another good option.
  4. Cheers grant, L2, firstly a remap is a good idea but what has been done to your car so far? Also which year? If it was me then firstly i would get a decat pipe and 3" system with free flowing filter. If you already have this then a scoobyecu if it's and early car or my99 on an ecu tek remap. I would also consider an uprated fuel pump and large supply of octane booster...lol Johnny
  5. ?? there is no pipework with the hks defencer, it's an electrical device that you splice into the ecu loom. but to answer your question, a fcd set up properly is ok but not ideal. What you are looking at is a cheap way to increase boost but it can be risky if not done properly, i.e, you can run lean and feck engines. If your looking to increase power on a budget and havn't already done so i'd get a decat downpipe and decent filter. If you want to increase boost but don't want to spend £££'s on ecu's then get a proper electrical boost controller like an apexi avcr or a scooby ecu chip, keeping boost to around 1.2bar but i would look into ensuring the car gets enough fuel. Ideally on a r/r or someone with a wideband to make sure it's happy with the extra boost. Johnny
  6. Niice... i could use them on the rear... Johnny
  7. Awesome pics m8,.. that wheel looks familiar... Johnny
  8. There's your answer then... Johnny
  9. As grant says it's in the drivers side footwell and the best thing to do is just go through the fuses one by one. A pain but if it is the fuse you'll find it eventually. Johnny
  10. filled up myself and thought 93.9... bargain But then again compared to almost anywhere else, what a rip off, our government at it's best. Johnny
  11. Peter the car's looking good m8. glad to see it's all sorted. Johnny
  12. george, have you ever tried the uprated arb mounting kit or welding up the mounting brackets? I've heard this is good for the track. Johnny
  13. Which falkens? If it's ze512's don't do it, they are mediocre in the dry and a liability in the wet. I felt like my car was floating with them, good for stepping the rear out at will if you could stop the understeer, but no good for grip. johnny
  14. Depends on whther it's just a chip, like scoobyecu which is set up for certain mods and not specifically for your car, but certain piggyback ecu's like the greddy e-manage can be mapped to suit your car altering fuel and ignition timing. Still doesn't seem to be as good as a fully remappably ecu or ecu tek.
  15. You took your time...
  16. No matter what it says it looks like an aftermarket chip from japan which increases boost and is prob set for the better quality jap fuel. It maybe ok but i would get it checked on a r/r to make sure it is not detting. My car came with a zero sports chip and although it felt rapid a quick run on the dyno had the operator thinking i was running my car on cheap supermarket fuel it was detting that much. Chip removed and all was fine. Some cars cope fine on our fuel with jap chips but i would defo get it checked out, not worth the risk for the price of a dyno run. Sorry if that sounds pessimistic. Johnny
  17. A v5 with a 20g or md321 would easily handle 350. As for importing i s'pose it all depends on whats on offer here. I would look into importing whilst looking for one here as you may find a very nice one with sensible mods already here which you can see in the flesh and even test drive. johnny.
  18. Don't do white m8, the dark colour seems to suit your car, a bit darker would look mean. Johnny
  19. Excellent Imy, Looking forward to seeing the results of this. Sounds interesting. Johnny
  20. only the v1 had a silver manifold. V2 on had red.
  21. Again......
  22. Mostly road work sti, For a plaything then sti ra. I've got a v2 sti and it's great, the slightly longer gearing make it easier to live with especially on the motorway and it's still bloody quick. v2 onwards had the 280 ps engine. Which one is tricky, it's all down to price and condition. A mint v2 is gonna be a better buy than a rough v3 even for the same money. Good luck, Johnny
  23. Hey Carnwath is down my way m8ey, drop in for a cuppa Johnny
  24. I give a wave, nod or kick to all bikes when on my bike obviously and always get a wave or nod back. I used to do it in the scoob but after years of getting ignored or the what on earth are you waving at you moron look, i gave up. If someone waves at me i always wave back though. Johnny
