  1. Thoughts out to the folks involved, hope all turns out ok, that's the most important thing, and then as an afterthought it's not good press for rallying or scoobs is it?
  2. Nice pic, pure stealth approach
  3. http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts_info.asp?id=8261&cat=96⊂=494&sec=1540&var=49&dc=0&gen=&searchKey= In stock here
  4. Welcome and sure you'll enjoy the scoob on road as well as on track
  5. Might smear a bit more when flies on screen, but not with rain. Beads up at slow speed just like a waxed painted surface but needs wipers to shift it, unlike at speed the droplets shift themselves
  6. Yup, Great stuff. Best once you hit 50 pr 60 as opposed to slow speed round town, rain just beads up and runs right off without using wipers. Passing lorries in the wet is great, the spray just seems to pass over the screen in a flash, doesn't stick to the glass at all. Highly recommended. Needs reapplying every few weeks but takes just minutes.
  7. Winter parked up? No way. Life goes on thru winter and scoobs come alive, for the N/A Impreza it's Winter tyres on, Rainex on windscreen, seat heater on, , mudflaps fitted on rear. Forester had new michelins on last month, Rainex to do, that's it. Can't wait !
  8. Import car parts had them in, genuine subaru letters
  9. Worth learning how to do it yourself, our forester key lost its code twice in 10years. Both times parked at shop with mobile phone mast just over the road and key went dead and needed recoding in. Also happened to Impreza once in 5years. That page of the manual is left folded open and pin codes kept in wallet!
  10. The stuff from Aldi. With carnauba wax, Leaves good shine, but not always on shelves so stock up when it's in.
  11. You could almost say that Motorsport made the man, and he made Motorsport. Big loss to all.
  12. Winters on its way, Nokian WRA3. And got some gold WRX wheels for them this year. The Bridgestone RE050s wIll be off mid October or so
  13. Welcome Hope you can share experience /advice or others can help you, from being in here.
  14. Get the red coolant next and you're all set for a busy but rewarding day then!
  15. Yes. Tried that in my GX even a 15 inch 195 tyre sat 3or 4inches up into the boot space compared to the space saver that lies flat under the carpet, And I do need the boot space sometimes!
  16. Can't help with your flashing lights but its a worthwhile task you're taking on there, good luck and welcome!
  17. Cheers bigfellys, just that the previous point made to mine just got me thinking and could see where he was coming from, It's not all like that mind but at times it seems so. By the way did you ever get that run down to the DC museum?
  18. Never seen one cracked that bad,
  19. From above:"my advice would be be less cliquey, I understand folks want to have a laugh with their mates but if a topic is 6 pages long and 5 of those pages are pals taking the p.i.s.s out of each other then anyone looking for info is going to get fed up and go elsewhere. " Well said there. Good observations all round. Lack of replies to technical stuff is even more pronounced if ithe question is related to a non turbo version. cliquey stuff should be handled on Facebook or whatever and leave SIDC for Subaru related stuff, specific or general, but not personal insults / stuff the rest of us don't get, or cliquey
  20. Check if your Cambelt was changed at 50 K miles, if not you need to budget that aswell? If you have the service schedule handbook / records that came with the car, check that you're reading the WRX/ turbo schedules, for blob eyes they have a major service at 50 K whereas the non turbo major service is 60K. They are a few pages apart in the handbook, the relevant table will give you a good idea what's needed.
  21. Thanks, hadn't seen or more likely hadn't read that link. Just need to scan the bit of paper now and make it digital, ha.
  22. Haven't sorted this photo bucket lark yet so no photo to post up. Was looking through my old photos the other day and found my first ever photo I took of Colin driving, or rather the back end of a very fast legacy going through Kielder forest in the Pirelli Rally of 1992. Was in a class of his own in those days, absolutely committed, no fear, just a blur round a bend then away, fantastic noise that started me noticing and thinking seriously about Subaru,s. fantastic memory even now.
  23. Welcome along and thanks for the post the other day Re. Sensors. Some of us have a few years on you already, age means nowt ha ha.
  24. Same bearing on forester was about 400 pds not long ago, As well as bearing and a "speedy sleeve" that goes in to help new seal fit tightly, needed the big bolt that goes through the bottom hub into the arms, and a bush. These are not cheap. These bottom long bolts are a known issue to get bolts out after a few years. So with parts and 3 hours labour mainly to get old bits out, quite a decent sized bill. But prepared to pay rather than struggle on at home with badly seized bolts.
