  1. First job on return plugs out to assess condition; No.3 had a small amout of oil on, what a surprise No3. being the problem; Checked cambelt alignment and it was all timed ok so no teeth jumped; Next wiring loom off; Followed by parrallel fuel rails; Drained the oil; Crank pulley off; Lightened flywheel off; Inlet manifold off; Water pipe off; Cambelt and tensioner off; Idler pulleys off; And rocker cover off;
  2. Pulled the engine yesterday morning; Took a bit of riggling about and the gearbox jacking up but got it out; Engine bay in need of a clean; In the garage; At which point I went the motor show for an hour, usual stuff but a few good cars also meet Graeme/Helen and John/Donna.
  3. Last weekend I removed all engine bay parts ready for the pull; IC pipes off; Alternator out; Air con out; Rad out; Turbo out; Gearbox split and clutch plate disengaged; Called it a day there as was too dark to continue.
  4. Well after finally moving house and getting everything sorted I'm back spannering on the car, but for a different reason. As most of you know it was suspected that the head gasket/gaskets had gone so the car was taken off the road last week. The last thing I did before moving was to port the compressor housing to maximise flow; Still need to weld the inlet on to housing though, but that should be it done.
  5. Hi John, nice to meet you and Donna at the show yesterday.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> That's not on taking you car out, been there myself Went to ATS for wheel alignment when I first got the car, trusted them to leave it there, on return 5 miles on the clock when confronted had to test the alignment mate, not over 5 miles you don’t. Asked him if he had a good jolly and got a rather blank but embarrassed expression, so only company I trust now is South Coast Performance as Nix/John use amongst others on here for the same reason. I would ask for the cost of the pads to be taken off the service, due to lying about it and having a jolly in your car. Disgusting behaviour and one way of not getting custom from anyone on here.[:@]
  6. Mornin Dudes. Hey Andi, Richard traded the leggy in for a new leggy outback not long after you left. Seen Nick the other week, talking about his new job and all is good, and yes he still has the scoob. How's project Mr Sparkle doing Jim?
  7. Without a doubt the way to go, just want to double check they are the correct fit. No prob it's just sat in garage collecting dust, dont know if I've mentioned before but it does have holes for the knocklink in it and it's twin 52mm. I've also still got the AFR due to going wibeband if you like.
  8. Dunno about drifting as such dude but yes it's one of those. Need to fit new big ends to it as it's knocking a little and it needs tidying but for £180 who cares! My mate and I have just bought it so we can strip it own and use as a cheap track day toy really. Should be fun once it's had some minor Crettling done to it! [] Very nice Jim, seen the pics on leggy forum. Dam good price if the bottom end isn't to bad, but see you are sorting that, need any tools/equipment or a hand let use know. Excellent paint scheme by the way.[]

    Welcome to the forum John. Doubt I will make that meet due to engine, but sure there will be others.[]
  10. Evening all, finally got my broadband back [:@] almost 3 weeks to sort! Got my PC's set up again after the move, so should be able to process the RB Relay pics soon [] I took the car off the road on Friday night pending rebuild, so thats me without car for probably a month if all goes smoothly.[^o)] I pick up the engine hoist next week so will hopefully see the engine out by next weekend (weather permitting).
  11. Still sorting a few things out but everything moved in ok cheers. If I go the route with the CDB then prob be Steve as its in the UK anyway plus he is equipped to machine the phase 2 crank in and oversize/hone the bores. Cheers Jim found the seller, looks a good deal only problem is I cant match the wiseco part No. on this listings http://www.importperformanceparts.net/impo...ons_subaru.html bit of a gamble if they dont fit. Will send a mail and ask plus check with engineer.
  12. Happy Birthday Richard have a good one.[] Still no broadband at home [:@] almost 2 weeks now! Sweeeeeet Jim you going to do a bit of drifting?[] Assuming thats the type of S13 you are talking about.[8-)]
  13. I've been offered the same block for nowt![] all I have to pay is shipping. Cheers anyway. Will sort it this week, just moved house today. Currently leaching off next doors ADSL[8-|] as they have just plugged it in and left it open! Will have mine transfered soon.
  14. And a few videos for Andrew;
  15. Todays pics; And the final; []
  16. Good day at Jurby, Andrew won the Manx v's visitors for those that dont know. So congrats Andrew.[] Final was based on handicap again, but unfortunately resulted in the OMA impreza throwing a rod as it went into 5th gear for the finish line.[] And best pic of the day has to be this, kept it large so you get the full facial expression!;
  17. A few pics;
  18. Great day today, except the bird $hite situation.[:@] Hitting me was'nt enough, just as I left one emptied all over my car big time.[8o|] Was a bit lacking on the car front though.
  19. Mornin dudes! I've heard he is chasing a childhood ambition to be a florist![] Should be a good weekend for Jurby, shame they dont have the leggy over Jim. Mind you would have had to watch you did'nt get your cars mixed up with your new alloys etc., or was that the plan?[6][]
  20. That be you in a rush to get to McDonalds then? lol[] Got in the car to go home and the turbo timer temp said 42°C! and that was leaving the windows open, settled down to 34°C on the way home.
  21. I've booked friday off to go up, so can give you a hand if you like. Dave.
  22. Hi Ben, welcome to the forum mate. As Graeme said a tad quiet on here at mo, moving house myself in a few weeks so not on here much. Anyway an earlier option for you, not a meet but no doubt most people off here will be going, is straightliners at Jurby next weekend on the 21,22 & 23. It's a drag weekend which results in a shootout Manx v's UK cars using a handicap system where required on the sunday. Dave.
  23. Morning all!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Yes still alive just, will be glad when this month is over, 3 weeks left till the move and I've had enough already. And to top that the Boss moved back to the island 2 weeks ago and it’s been none stop, even had to go out in his new boat on a Sunday because it has a gps/fishfinder unit, which automatically makes it an IT problem in his eyes.[:^)] Anyway belate congrats to you both Jim. Car looking good, the dark alloys finish it off.[H] Seen Graeme up Jurby yesterday in his new motor, very nice, I escaped packing for the morning. I've booked 21/22/23 off to go to jurby where I was even contemplating taking part until, as some of you may have heard, head gasket has started to go big ends are rattling and the rings have had it.[] So it's either engine rebuild or 2.5 conversion time.[]
  24. Why cant we edit posts? Just to add off to Scoobynet Live/Scooby Shootout at the weekend with a tad of drinking involved.[]
  25. Cheers everyone.[] Only downside is my office was broken into last night and trashed!; I'm not sure what they are trying to imply here;
