About Dave K

  1. True have'nt been on here myself for some time. Quality Jim. lol But on a more serious note congratulations to you & Gail.
  2. Good to meet you Jon, next time I should'nt have my niece in tow! Pending turbo and mapping should be able to make a run.[]
  3. Many thanks one and all, except Dave who thought I was 40. lol
  4. Happy Birthday for the weekend Nix’s. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I’m afraid I wont be able to make it this weekend, as I have to work the next 2 weekends. And not on the car either.[:@]
  5. Whilst waiting for the heads I got carried away with the rocker covers, nothing new there then; Bit of etch primer; And a bit of the wrinkly stuff; Got the heads back after valve seats being cut, cheers to Paul at South Coast Performance, and then a skim by Mr Ross at Motivation; And then it was onto valve lapping, which I have to say is the most depressing thing to do on an engine build, thank god it ins't a 20 valves like my old motor.
  6. Shiny it may be, lets just hope it don’t end up in one big oily mess if I get it wrong! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Very jealous Jim wouldn’t mind that kind of setup myself. How’s the SX project coming?
  7. Indeed Jim, hate to think what may have happened if the pin had got stuck in the access hole!
  8. Sorry for delay Nick, your other pics; No.3 the oily one surprise surprise. not; Cambelt off; The lovely big score down No.3 bore. Where the previous builder didn’t put the rear c clip on the piston, which resulted in the gudgeon pin being dragged up and down the bore;<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> End result one block that cant be rebored.
  9. Continued with the porting; Inlet ports finished; Also give the exhaust side a port; Just need to get the valve seats cut and heads skimmed then can start building them back up and shim etc. And stick them on this ; After I have swapped the pistons for these, well the replacements as these are the wrong ones! ;
  10. Sorry for long delay in reply, part No. if you still need it is 12115117306, but it is not for an airbag fitment as they dont do one.
  11. No grass fires this year!! as I will be a passenger only. lol []
  12. The MAF started playing up just before the Shore Hotel so that's why we went back, better safe than sorry trying to keep up. Always be next time.[] We put the MAF off my car on and Dave has reported it's solved the problem, he just needs to do the lambda now. Did we all have fun? Would have liked a closer look at the evo, no doubt will get to say hello to the rest of you all next time we meet.
  13. Lol @ Graeme. Well the most important symbol is in there
  14. Well finally bit the bullet and made the decision, all the parts to build the engine back up should be here next week. So need to get the heads sorted, started off cleaning up the valve seat areas as they were covered in oil/carbon; Then began porting the inlets; Only 15 more to go!;
