About ASTiMAN

  1. So Dave, have you got the clutch in now and boost wound up to 1.4bar? Looky what santa brought to me early: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...N:IT&ih=014 Picked it up last Friday and drove 300 miles home. Needs some tidying up but should be good cheap fun. Getting a few bits for it already.
  2. More pics and video added to website. Videos now include Bray Hill start (practice) 2007 and coming into Granstand in 2006.
  3. Nothing at the moment I just want to to free up some cash to get my house finished! Sorry to hear you wrote off the P1 at the weekend - I hope you are ok.
  4. I sold my 440 injectors some time ago - the nissan 200sx boys are always on the look out for them. I did have a set of 850s, but settled on the 720s as the spray pattern of the 850s was not as good. My engine was not a bought unit - it was built to an agreed spec by Steve Guirey (SMG) over almost a year and many many telephone conversations with him. Steve is now squeezing around 1,000bhp out of his 2.5 litre and running low 9 second quarter miles! The last time I spoke to him he had just put his car on Surrey Rolling road for mapping and got 850bhp at 1.4bar before he blew the headers off. His car now runs 2bar with a 50bhp nitros shot (which can be upped to 150bhp shot). My engine is very similar spec to one of his old ones, just with some better bits and is easily capable of sustaining over 550bhp, just needing a bigger turbo and remap to achieve this (oh and stronger gearbox)!
  5. It's time for her to go. Some of you will know this car and it is one of the quickest, if not the quickest on the Island. Won the Manx vs Visitors Jurby Straightliners event last year posting a 12.3 second quarter mile @ 122mph. That was on the old turbo and road tyres. This should easily pull mid/low 11's now. The new turbo flows so much more air, especially at the top end where the old one struggled. To give you an idea, Bray Hill 2006 it pulled around 135mph whereas this year it hit the rev limiter in 5th 3 times before braking (thats around 155mph). Also took overall victory in the Manx Classic 3 Hills in April this year beating Mr Dangerfield in his Caterham R500. http://www.felikz.co.uk/subaru/ http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/235362.htm http://www.aetturbosonline.com/may_news_2007.htm 0-60mph comes in around 3.5 seconds and power to weight ratio is around 376bhp/ton
  6. Dave Give us a shout if you need help with the manifold - it is a horrible job, but mine has been on and off more than once! Regards Andrew
  7. Just been up to yours and bought 2 copies
  8. Hi Richard I was interviewed by the reporter commissioned by Motorsport News and he told me on Tuesday it was going in. Where did you get your copy from? I am told there will be a bigger article in Autosport next week. Kind regards Andrew
  9. The Audi was quick - Richard only just got it finished in time and the data log estimated power between 550 - 600bhp. I beat it by about 0.5sec on bray hill, 1sec on Sloc and 1 sec on Lhergy Frissell. Quick, but not quick enough! When you do the maths, at 423bhp my Scoob = around 370bhp/ton and the Audi at say 575bhp = around 360bhp/ton.
  10. Thanks Dave. Yeah, yeah! My front plate is perfectly legal as I proved to the police when I took the regulations and a tape measure up to Douglas Police Headquarters!
  11. Thanks Graeme We should look at modding the Warrior!
