  1. your right in me wanting a nice clean sti , 2001 ish onwards , aslong as it has the big spoiler on the back , and prefer them with the big scoop on the bonnet as opposed to the turbos with the smaller bonet scoops , other than that if its blue prefered colour and bonus if it has the gold alloys . just finding one in budget is the thing,
  2. aye know to avoid them as a dealership and i thot arnold clarck was bad lol, thought seeing how i paid for the extra 2year warrenty then it might have came under that but them takin the cost cause they sold it like that but gues they dont realy check motors over when they get them, its just a case of get them out the door asap and hope nowt goes wrong , now the hunt will be on as soon as i get the cash in the account , tough to find a sti wi the cash il get back , or even a wrx wi the sti body kit on it , but not lookin for anythin wi mods so much just a plain scoobaru will do me fine ,
  3. soz havent been as much internets been down had to use mates yesterday neway... their takin the peeeeasshhhh now !!!!!!!! michael bolton - dealer principal/manager at evans halshaw citreon rotheram where i got the car phonedsaid they cant get the work done as a warrenty job from subaru as it had been modded obviously i knew that neway. unless nobles could come down in the price to fix it £1200 they will buy back from me , at the price i bought it, including the £348 i paid of an extended 2year warrenty , they will give me back the £90 i paid for the tyre to be put on it , (THIS IS THE FUNNY BIT NOW ) - They WILL NOT pay for the 2months insurance ive been paying for the car to sit at the back of their dealership up here waiting to get fixed, -they WILL NOT pay the £60 admin fee my inusrance charged me to change the details from my hyundia to the subaru - they WILL NOT pay for the two qauter tanks of petrol i put in it that have been used, qauter tank in it when they first got it and gave back with empty light on and when it was supposedly fixed i put another qauter tank in before the engine management light back on and staright back into the garage 20mins after i got it. - they will not pay the 2months higher purchase i took out with the bank to help me buy the car aswel as my part exchange . he said anything ive paid for and put on the car or had done to the car they will cover but anything else they wont pay for .and will phone on monday to give arrange a time for me to get my stuff from the car and a date to hand back the courtesy car back to the garage up here. i also now have a full set of subaru world rally decals that i bought ready to go on the car when i got it back that are still sittin in the box , so basicly come monday i will have just under £7k which i paid for the car after partexchange , i will be out of pocket for 2months insurance, admin fee, higher purchase payments and a half tank of petrol, i will also be carless now , and still have to get to work , my local citizens advice is closed and my legal advice place is shut over the weekend until monday morning, he only decent thing wi evans halshaw is paul the service advisor up here at seafield said i shld get straight on the phone to citizens advice and that michael bolton guy is takin the piss , and he feels gutted for me and he would be raginng if it was him, i know its not much but atleast he agrees the guys takin the piss tho .
  4. ok got the call today , guy from down south is off sick , michael bolton guy , but told will get a call tomorow , apparently their going to keep the scooobaru because of high repair costs and try to sort me out with another car, but unless its a scoob wrx sti , or a wrx with a sti body kit then im not intrested , will see if they will give me any compensation or pay back all the stuff ive been paying for the past cpl months insurance ,fuel ive had in it etc etc
  5. CHEERS GAV GOOD TO KNOW. also appreciate the offer too, will be in touch with whoever and what ever would be closer, if i get the cash back. still not had a call from the dealer manager down south and even tried phoning the dealer manager down there but phones always engaged need to know whats happening asap because my insurance is due on friday , and i dnt wana pay £668 for a years insurance and get told their not gona be fixing it, remind me never to buy fi evans halshaw again... yeah dealer side gives me peice of mind unless their evans halshaw but prices are higher , and theres some nice private ones out there that are reasonabley priced but no safety net of a warrenty or dealership cover....
  6. not to fussed about mods the now if im geting my money back ,just looking for a bog standard wrx sti , or wrx with sti spoiler on the rear , the main thing if i get the money back is GET A SUBARU ,MUST HAVE A SUBARU, I WANT A SUBARU!!!! lol i know im a subaru man , even though im 27 ive been wanting the impreza since i was 16 , its the dream/ultimate car for me , you know even in that dream garage if i had it , the subaru wld always be at the top 1- subaru impreza 2- ac cobra 3- ferrari f40 4- mustang super snake 5- camero 6 -aston matin db5 7 - aston martin v8 vanq 1970's/80's 8 - 1969 pontiac gto judge 9- bugati veron 10- dodge charger but will see what happens ,shld know either tomorow by the latest - heres hoping neway
  7. which one gav....? anything im looking for has to be around the £7k range , , but still waiting to see what happens with mine if itl be fixed or not , which is the prefered option , but if it doesnt get fixed then im thinking i shld get about £7k back and hoping for some compo ,and a reinbursement of the 2months insurance that ive been paying for the car to sit at the back of evans halshaw or in a garage, also thinking of goign to citizens advice or phoning to see if they think id be able to get some comp in any way sort of form for the way ive been treated and sold a car the way it is that ive not had any use out of. so im just browsing what used ones are out there to keep my options open ,would also prefer to go wi a dealer atleast i got a bit of cover if sumthin goes wrong, but private sellers is where the better prices are but i dnt know too much mechanicly of what too look for if im going to look at one so dont want to get stung and have to pay heavily down the line for it to get fixed , but spacemans offer to help and go along if it wasnt to far out was amazing , and apreciated , everyone on here so helpful even to strangers like me, will keep everyone updated wi whats happening , if im geting it fixed and if il have it back in time for next tue edin meet or next sat classic show at stirling where i had my name down aswel ,
  8. this is the short list of what ive found so far and what i mite be able to affoard , obviously all depending if mines gets fixed http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1711407.htm http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=149305 (depnding on compensation if any , and what savings i might have ) http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=142002 http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=147656 http://iangrievesubaru.co.uk/vehicles/used - blue wrx £8995 51,170 miles
  9. apreciate the offer spaceman, havent got shot of mine yet , still waiting to hear if their writing it of and giving me my full cash back + some compensation or if their gona go ahead and fix it , still waiting on a phonecall today tho .
  10. dont realy have anyone that knows alot about cars , just stuff ive learned myself which isnt much , i just learned from experience with cars ive had before , and thats usualy sounds i hear , as for looking into a bonnet and looking at an engine, and going hmm that doesnt look right or that looks damaged, im not that good,
  11. yeah service advisor from porty thinks the same , he said he doubts they will want to go ahead and pay for the work, not knowing what else could be wrong , and that the rotheram dealership even phoned nobles themselves to see what they think . will be a bit pissd if they do, have to say though the one that ggmac has sudgested in stirling looks good too, and in my price range if i do get a refund, only thing is the 4 previous owners, and i wont be protected if the car goes tits up when i get it, id have to pay for everything mmyself and thats money i dont have ,
  12. cheers gmac, thats a good looking scoob , and thanks for the info spaceman , few people have now said that about not buying from them.. update of the car in the garage - the tappets on engine are not working properly and nobles said £1200 to fix, evans halshaw in portobello is waiting for authorisation from rotheram evanshalshaw to get the work done, having trouble getting the dealership manager at moment, but not to sure if he will ok the work because im thinking theyve already made a prety hefty loss on the car with parts and labour fixing it, if they do get the go ahead i dunno how long it will take to get the parts and fix it, so dunno if i will make the meet on the 29th or the classic car show at bridge of allen on the 4th , but im hoping i will, im peed of at missing out on all these events , and im choking to get to my very first event .
  13. looks mint mate, lovin the big spoiler on the back, and the agressive look of it all, and very good inside aswel
  14. i want 1 i want 1 i want 1 looks the buisness again, now il just have to wait 5- 7years to buy one used , lol but wld be worth the wait
  15. waiting on phonecall from nobles on what they think , their gona have somebody working through weekend and a few hours on monday checking it over , just incase i do hand it back , ive been shopping around for a new one , saw this wondered if any of you recognise it or have any input. looks nice enough, , and if you see the pic of the inside the car someones put the gauges in on the dash board, tho to be honest im not too fussed if they are there or not , looks in decent knick too for the price but should i be wary ??????? l http://caldermotor.co.uk/cgi-bin/details.pl?v_vin=GK02TZT just no to sure incase i do give mine back and get the cash and go for this as i dont wana get stung again with something that looks good but is a shed and dnt wana be paying a fortune on geting things seen to or fixed that i cant affoard especialy when any spare cash i have would be going to pay for this , and atleast with the shed that i have the now evans halshaw are paying for all the new parts , fixes and labour so its not costing me anything , but with that itd be out of my own pocket.anything i shld look out for when buying? it seems to be modded but not sure what i should or shouldnt check if i go to see it /buy it , but its got everything i want for around teh £7k mark wrx sti type uk 2002/2003 proper bodykit , though not to fussed about mods, and it has the gold alloys and proper sti spoiler and boonet scoop size, and its in blue which is what i also want ,
  16. cheers andy , apreciate the offer like, waiting to see what they say about it, if its worth while getting the repairs done or just leaving it, they were meant to phone evans halshaw the day but they didnt as paul from evans halshaw said , so wating on a phonecall tomorow to see what happens, he usualy phones the missus but dunno if shel be to happy cause ive just dropped her off up town and she likes a lie in after a drink lol but already started looking for another scoob just incase its not fixable, babs wants to get sumthing sensible astra, fiesta, corsa but i said i want the scoob , struggling to find anything tho in the price range , especialy in scotland ,seem to be alot cheeper down south . except from manse veihicle managemeant in fife, but alot of their stuff is jap imoprt from what i could see. will let you know though what happens and if im just tellin them to keep it or not, dont want to because ive always wanted a scoob since i was 16, but also dont want it playing at the back of my mind that theres another dodgy mod been done somewhere and taken out that hasnt registered a fault yet or broke and that im gona pay for it bigstyle further down the line .
  17. more of an update now. turns out the previous a-pipe modded all the wireing, and although nobles changed teh affected wireing loom/harness cant mind which ,a nd replaced with new wires, they found out after second diagnostic that another four points in the wireing was knackered aswel, tehy said the guy who done all the modding before i got her used normal STI wiring, and not WRX STI wireing ,, didnt know there was a difference to be honest , or that it would affect it . so nobles are looking into seeing if its worth while fixing . heres what the guy from evans halshaw down at porty emailed me to sudjest From: "..................." @evanshalshaw.com> Date: Wed, 16 Jun 2010 13:17:55 +0100 To: < Subject: Possible ideas?? 20. lets face it if you had to choose which one was to get knicked , youd be picking the mondeo , unless it was the new version of subaru which is just too round short and doesnt have a proper bonnet scoop on it , looks like a bigger up to date version of a pulsar but but that black bad boy looks the dogs knackers
  21. looking good and shiney , was also tempted to get that turtle wax ice as it looked good, also good to see thr priorities are correct, hide the number plate on the scoob, dont bother with the ford
  22. yeah also bought the extended warrenty when i bought the car , it was either a year or two years extened warrenty for £400 thinking that im atleast covered on the car incase something goes wrong with it being 7 years old, so when i next pick it up i will go over exactly what it covers and what it doesnt cover so if something else does go then i know whether im paying or not,
  23. there a meet the 29th this month? lol duno if il hav the car back by then , its so sad its turnin funy
