  2. happy birthday squire , cheers for the help aswel
  3. YET again im still being taken for a mug !!!!!! apprently they ordered the wrong switch for the front electric window, dunno how you can order the wrong switch when all you do is phone up subaru and give them the numberplate/chais number and tell them the part you want , but for evanshalshaw this seemed to much as instead of getting the car back they have said the switch is on back order now, when speaking to "CHARLOTTE" ( the useless behatch- inflateable dart board) this is subarus fault for sending the wrong part , and when asked if it had been sent for its diagnostic neway without the switch , she was still adament that it needed to wait for the electric window button before it got that done. luckily i spoke to the service lads up at nobles and he said it wouldnt matter fitted or not fitted the diagnostic machine wouldnt matter if the button was or wasnt on, so i tell this charlotte this and she says i quote " oh well that how it works with our ford models we have to wait for any electrical problems to be fixed before we can run a diagnostic on them" still a load of bull if you ask me , funny though how yesterday when i speak to the services department the switch was being fitted as they spoke to me on the phone when i asked to speak to the dealership manager david gibb, so its went from being fitted as we speak to being the wrong switch entirely , what kind of circus do they run down there,....??? more evanshalshaw lies so i ask cahrlotte miss useless to put me through to david gibb branch manager again , and ohh wait shes jumping through hoops saying shes gona find out the problem and get back in touch . get a phone call back as im typing this , now someone else , saying they are sorry for messing me about and for the job taking so long and that they are goin to take the car up to nobles and let them order the switch ( can take up to 10 days on back order) and let them diagnose the machine . and they hope to phone me in the near future saying the car is ready . now lets hope they do what they say this time and tommorow its up at subaru in penicuik for the near future getting treated properly and fixed as soon as , so i am now back in the mood from being all happy and smiley and cant wait to finish putting the rally decals on to back being realy peeeed off and like this again P.S the chances of me making my first meet/event on knockhill on the 23rd is looking slim and as the deadline is this weekend which i was hoping to have my shift sorted by , is very slim especialy seeing how they have hung out geting it fixed for what seems like 3weeks
  4. id say spent all my pennys buying my car in the first place, and buying some rally decal,s wld luv to get the dails for the dash for oil and temp etc. wld luv to change my leads to blue , give the engine bay a clean and get a ecu preformance upgrade from andy , but alas more pennys , add that to my insurance due next month and a long term girlfreind that wants a ring on the finger, she already got bumped to the back of the que for me to get the subaru . " see got my prioritys right" mods are goin to have to wait lol
  5. you mean the "wack" badge stuck on it, guesin the previous owner put it on, have had chance to remove it yet, more intrested in finishing of the rest of the decals on it, get the rest of the sponsor ones on , though ordered the full kit so will have spare ones of the ones that are already on it .
  6. just wana say big thanks to gus for the mention of the scottish motor trade association , (SMTA) just off the phone to evans halshaw after asking to speak to the guy that runs the dealership, no managers. no service manager, no sales manager, but the head honcho, told him that ive been lied to , hung up on the service customer service was crap, and that i phoned nobles about getting the parts and doin it myself and sending them the bill as they have taken so long, and asked if his dealer ship was part of the of the SMTA and within 5 mins my electric window button is being put on as we speak, the tyre is refunded , and it is booked in at nobles tomorow to get diagnosed and have the ecu fixed, and i should get the ca back tomorow at some point if its a case of resetting the ecu . big thanks to all realy dunno what i wouldnt have done without the help of you lot and all the info, realy glad i joined up here, and all you members are so helpful, thanks folk. the first rounds on me when i eventualy meet you all , and we go to the mcdonalds drive through lol but seriously thanks folk appreciate all the help yous have all given me .
  7. some better ones , now that i have a photo bucket account and can upload pics woo hoo i miss her sooooooooooooo much said theyd phone me back in 5 - 10 mins that was 13:55 still waiting
  8. yeah but price was including paying of outstanding finance on my hyundia coupe thats i had before hand , which was £2.500 theres my baby
  9. lol exchange " hi welcome to marathon how may i help you" for " hi welcome to evans halshaw how may i help you "
  10. JUST A WEE UPDATE spoke to nobles, they said car cld get booked for diagnostic next mon, switch could take up to 10 dyas but they wld try to push to get it quicker, no record of my car being booked in is in their books yet , so about to phone evanshalshaw and kick up some sh it , service department at nobles also said what you guys said and that window doesnt effect diagnostic and says he thinks im being spun bull, yeah car is paid out rite, £9,000 in total all paid off, no finance nothing , even took out 2 year extended warrenty . because car is 6.5 year old
  11. already got a curtesy car off them , took a week cause they kept saying they had none in stock , until i eventualy said you have vaious other dealerships around edinburgh to borrow a curtesy car , and if they dont supply me with one are they going to foot the bill for the taxis id need to get to work because i start work at 3am and 4 am , and cant get busses , magicly they phoned me back 10mins later saying i could pick one up the next day . its just all this bull of suposedly waiting on parts and not being able to put on diagnostic machine until electric window is fixed, and waiting on that part ,
  12. this is exactly how i feel - cheers for the responses lads
  13. hey folks pesky me again , need some help. bought my 03 WRX STI TYPE UK from evans halshaw down in rotheram, got it transported up to edinburgh , when arrived up here it hadc the ecu light on , guy said this was due to it being empty of petrol on the forecourt before he left , and that if i filled it up it would reset itself , ( which i thought was a load of bull). also the passenger electric window button didnt work but the drivers side did. and there was an 8inch chunk of tyre missing from front pasenger side tyre which i noticed . neway on to the mug part , booked the car in on the 30th of may to evans halshaw down at portobello, at 8am in the morning, received a phonecall at 5pm that night saying the tyre would get replaced, their diagnostic machines dont work on the car so they will have to send it up to alex f noble in penicuik so they can diagnose the ecu problem and that it needed new button for the electric window, fast forward a week to the 7th of may and a ton of evasis phone calls from the evanshalshaw service department saying its booked in to nobles , the switch has been ordered , the switch is in , the tyres being refunded and replaced, to geting nowhere , i get told id receive a phone call on monday the 10th , which i didnt. ( their customer service realy is that bad keep saying they will phone back on certain dates to update me on the progress but never do always me chasing them ) so i phone them , get put through to charlotte the service department manager who tells me yet again the tyre has been refunded/replaced, BUT now the switch for the passenger window is ordered but they are still waiting on it and because they are a ford dealership it takes longer to get subaru parts , where as if it was a ford part they can get it over night, also that they cant put it on the diagnostic machine until they replace the switch , and because they dont know when the switch will arrive so they cant get it booked up at nobles for the diagnostic, - my thinking is that it doesnt take nearly two weeks to order a switch for an electric window unless they are ordering it from japan and getting it delivered by ship. this is the part that makes me think im being taken for mug . because by the time they eventualy get the switch in and installed, they will then have to wait for a place on nobles books to get it booked in , an dthen thats further waiting until it gets the diagnostic and if there is anything wrong then even more waiting to get that fixed, also this charlotte the service manager said that there is no point putting it in for a diagnostic before they fix the electric window switch , because that would show up on the report , and then once they fix the switch they would have to send it away again for another diagnostic because that would interfere with it . is any of this true?? also they are doing it as a warrenty job so they aint making any money out of it because they sold it to me saying there wasnt any problems other than a couple stone chips would love to have something to go back to them with and say they are talking a load of bull ..
  14. thanks lads, the place that supplied me with the kit, gave me a plastic scraper for the bubles , so think when i eventualy get the car back i will leave it to a sunny day when its my day off and by god if it takes me all day i will do my best to have them all level and looking good
  15. lol could be the dealership taking my car to the subaru garage to get put on the diagnostic machine, thats why its taking so long and they keep stalling , becuase one of their mechanics have totaled it , i shouldnt joke bout my baby burning , and someone could have been hurt , but the gagrage is killing me having it longer than me
  16. hey tezro neil, i know im kinda new, but this is the one forum/place that ive actualy seen people offer to help others so much, and that actualy does meets and shows, when i had my hyundia coupe, i was a member on there and nobody realy helped anyone, and the meets and that were maybe once every 6 months, and it was just a local car park sumwhere outside a restraunt or sumthin , nothing like what i have seen on here, saying that the only trouble thing i seem to have noticed was alot of people having a go at the lad that posted the vids of the suposed car thefts and joy riding, racerx maybe his name was i cnt mind, but it seemed a unity of poeple trying to get the lad to report it, obviously i dont know the full story cause i saw people mention that he had been banned or changed his name or sumthing, but ive never seen such a helpful or freindly forum that does so much and tries to organise so much. this may not seem /mean much from a "newbie" who hasnt atteneded anything yet , but i hope once the dealership is done with my car that i will meet all you lads and lasses that seem so freindly and helpful , and hope to join you on runs and shows and help out here if i can so id ask that you take a min to consider that although there may be folk on here that cause hassle and just like to stir things or wind people up , but theres also us newbies on here that apreciate the the help you guys give and information you lads are giving sory and lassies.
  17. HEY folks, just took delivery of my rally decals and wondered if anyone has any tips on putting them on the car, like things to watch out for or thinsg i should do. already heard of the washing up liquid and water incase i make a mistake i can move them, and not to have the car waxed before i put them on , and also not to use a power hose when cleaning the car for the first couple weeks . dont plan on putting them on any time soon as the garage still has my car, and as of midinight tonight , they will have owned the car longer than what i have , as i only had it for a week before it got taken in. and they seem to be a bit slow at fixing it seeing how its a warrenty job
  18. if i could sudgest a possible driving day out , edinburgh to berwick-upon-tweed, but going via galashiels and otterburn (northumberland national park) , Total Distance: 126.17 mile(s), 203.05 km(s) one way or = 252.34miles round trip back to edinburgh unless you hop on the A1 back Estimated journey time of: 3 hour(s) 10 minute(s) thats without stopping, but could always stop at galashiels for something to eat or lauder, could start at hawes in south queens ferry , and on either the A68 great national speed limit road sometimes dual carrigway for a mile or 2 for over taking and quite a few long straights that are up to 5miles at points just outside lauder , or the alternative way would be to go the the A7 more remote but a far better road more of a drivers road, more challenging great country veiws, less places to over take though , just a sudgestion , and its a 6hour round trip back to edinburgh /south queens ferry , or slightly quicker if you go the A1, good mix of roads/scenery and places to stop, cost = full tank and a bit of petrol , plus anything else for food, so be guesing no more than maybe £80 if you wanted to see the route yourself i used www.rac.co.uk/route-planner . and just typed in edinburgh to bewrick-upon-tweed via galashiels and via otterburn, just a sudjestion for a day out , that has a mix of scenery, good roads, and a decent trip time and costs,
  19. cheers mark and micra thanks for the help, apreciate it, maybe i looked at wheels wrongly then maybe it is just the standard 17" , as for the rumble i meant the burble of the scooby , not so much the power side of things just hear the grunt/burble a bit more, but it is defo the standard sti back box on it , pipe even has sti writen on it, and im hapy with it, but my 48 year old boss's evo 4 has a loud exhaust on it he said he previously owned a scooby , and had the exhaust changed to give a loud sound , saw on the highland trip pics and vids, that alot of folk (3-4 drivers) lol had similar exhausts well the tail pipes looked similar so thought there mite of been a baseline exhaust that many of you agreed upon as a whole that gave yous a good soudning burble. p.s cars already in garage has been for past week, with passenger window problem , engine management light being on and the gouge out of the front tyre, lol gues il wring them tomorow and mention the acelarator pedal now too lol, sucks cause i just got the rally decals delivered and wana get them on the car asap lol
  20. hey folks, got some realy daft questions that im not to sure of the answer of. p.s its in regards to a 03 wrx sti type uk 1- accelarator pedal, in my car the accelarator pedal moves left and right by about an inch , it doesnt sit or move loosely or freely on its own , it sits bang in the middle but if u place your foot on it with a little pressure and then tilt your foot left , it will move to the left by about half an inch to an inch , same if you do it to the right, but it always centres its self again if you lift your foot of the pedal. It doesnt feel loose or anything , so what im wanting to know is... Is THIS NORMAL on scoobs? 2 - intercooler button inside car - ok ive read in the manual that the intercooler button is to spray water into the intercooler, when its been driven hard and heated up. how do i know when i should press the button? i dont realy drive the car hard , or even hammer it through the rev range, (except when a mazda rx8 was driving up my a*** and tried to undertake on me the bypass), but when i get it back from teh garage , is there some way of telling that it needs the intercooler button pressed or an indicator light on it..? 3 - what type of tyres do people recomend the car should be on? or psi shld it run at for normal day to day use. took it to farmers tyres in mussleburgh cause of a nail in the tyre and they took it off and found about an 8 inch chunk missing from the top of the tyre , guy said if i havent hit anything and its not a remold, then someones put cheap new tyres on it and the cars power has basicly been to much for it and its torns itself apart /failed under the strain . he asked if i want another cheepy on or sumthig better , i got an avon put on for £87, rims are the normal 18" ten spoke gold ones. 4 - saw on a subaru website cant mind where think it was a link from one on here, said a normal service £xxx or a full detailed service £xxx anyone know what the diference is, as the full detailed service was about double the price, 5 - like my rumble out of the standard exhaust , but looking for a little more grunt, what do you folks recomend and a decent place i could take to get it fitted that wont rip me off, did do the exhaust on my old corsa when i was a young nipper take the back box off, new rubber clamps on it and the paste at the joins but would rather someone proper did it on my "baby" 6 - how the **** do i upload pictures, i thought it mite be because im not a full member and just a forum newbie, cause i keep getting an error contact a site person if im not sure how to use the function, cant even put an avatar pic up , but ive seen other forum newbies posting pics, so wondering if im missing something out, any help to some or all of those questions would be great folks, p.s whens the next edinburgh meet,
