  1. Dependant on which year car you have you could go for a remap which is changing the settings in the ecu to run more in time with the changes you are making. 1999 onwards you can just go for a remap, im pretty sure its a replacement ecu a remap including dyno time will normally cost about 550+VAT, not sure what price a new ECU costs, same goes for this chip you have i wouldnt know sorry ed
  2. To be honest matey i dont know as i have not had the shell card long only a month or so, had the nector card for years but dont get the same deals on that. I signed up for fuel vouchers with the shell card as i can put them to better use
  3. Ha Ha i do the same now. although im not in the v power club yet even though i have only used my card for V power and the odd work van fuel up. Got my BP ultimate card the other day, think its double points if i fill up so much fuel over a set time, cant remember now. Had a nector car for 4 years and saved up 2 thousand points, since owning the impreza (Nov 09) i have now got 5 thousand points I like free stuff, cant wait for my free shell fuel
  4. 2 Today. A green classic with stickers on and gold with silver rim alloys, you followed me down from the air ballon pub down the A417 towards gloucester (i was in a white LDV Dog Van. And a Blue 04 WRX STI in Weyhill Hampshire at the company i went to to collect some stuff for work If your on here hi
  5. looks spot on that, going to have to get me some of that wax
  6. i would go for a FMIC myself as cold air is better for the car
  7. Looks smart mate, I think im going to go down the line of ast kit, being they are just down the road from me it would be rude not to. i wont be going for brembos though, i am goin for the KAD conversion as i get a good deal on their kit (having owned one of their mini's)
  8. yer you are right, i am not much of a fan of kits but i wanted to go for a wrc style car, with everything thats heavy gone (adding a kit dont make sense now i think about it if i want light weight) and good overall power etc, but you make a very good point i think i will rethink the kit idea and spend the extra on handling/performance as the price of a kit fitted is around the same as a higher spec turbo and a little bit of change to go in the fmic fund, and i can still strip out to a extent and cage it up i have looked at your car ace and i would have it without a blink of a eye but im not looking at buying until the end of summer.........shame as it looks like a right jem
  9. Right o, my mind has been made up on the model, im going to go for a 03/04 sti (uk or import depends on what is around at the time, more than likely be import) i have decided to go with wrc style but with less stickers, whats the general concencuss with kits on subarus i.e. the WRC wide kit, is it looked down upon and seen to be chavvy or are people ok with it in our subaru world? im looking at something like this (company to be decided yet but you get the idea)
  10. hmmm going to check mine in the morning now...... i best not have a swiming pool in there
  11. firstly ignore my bad fitting of the slam panel, i have since fitted it properly underneath the radiator brackets. I am after a aux belt cover as i am starting to clean the engne bay up and replacing bits with new parts. I am wanting a cover to cover both belts in one unit unlike now which there is one for the alt and one for the air con. is there any availble for the 2000 x reg classic turbo 2000 or am i stuck with this combo and just have to give the old one a spray up cheers ed
  12. First one was either a blob or hawk i only caught it out the corner of my eye as i was tucking into a mixed grill at the bell near weyhill on the way towards andover, was light blue with all the wrc decals on. second was a dark mica classic in lugershall parking on the grass verge as you get into the village third was a light blue classic with gold wheels in lugershall forth was a dark blue bugeye, think it had tinted windows again in lugershall fifth was a orange classic with some vent type holes in the side skirts, this was on the forcourt of ATS in marlborough I was in the van so you wouldnt have seen me, is lugershall the most subaru populated area of the uk
  13. I bet it will be had in no time, i need something thats going to be road legal as well, at the moment its to early to buy as im away for a while soon so will have nowhere to put it. i will be looking at an 03 ish model though, the guys at work cant understand why i would buy a newer impreza to strip it out and keep my turbo 2000 as a daily (ish) they think i should buy new and keep it to drive daily and strip the turbo 2000, they dont really understand the subarus though haha
  14. damm you subaru for making so many great versions of the impreza haha i have a while to make my mind up but still its going to be a hard decision lol
  15. you have probably already filled this out but if not, fill it out and they will email you when they become availible Coffee walnut whip link
  16. yes i belive they are, i have been told they import good cars, shame though i forgot i was at powerstation could have gone round to lichfields and had a look while mine was in MOT
  17. I am at home in kent for the weekend so was going to take a trip to sva in dover to have a little look, will also take a look for the one on ph, to be honest im in no major rush to buy, probably be looking at buying towards the end of the year, in the mean time i can look at the shiney bits i want to buy haha cheers yer should be good then i must admit i do like the civics, nice looking and like you say the vtecs are a superb engine, im pretty biased when it comes to minis haha but will be selling mine asap to fund the project i will look into that, do you mean a import or uk model? i was orgianaly going to get a 03 impreza but something told me to go classic (probably the insurance haha) i will take a look about as its a very valid point you bring up about gearboxes, the box in my mini cost 2k so dont really wanna spend out again if i dont have to Cheers all
  18. parked down the side of the big tesco on the way out of hereford had a personalised plate and a scooby doo dog on the parcel shelf hello if your on here i parked up behind you while i went in for driving food
  19. Some nice car choices there, get your self a vtec mini conversion lol there is some videos on youtube of a mini van vtec conversion cutting around the ring, some pretty good times lol been looking about today at some sti type r versions 1999 they seem to be taking my fancy
  20. Well guys and girls i have been bitten buy the bug big time and would like to buy a project car. what i am aiming for is a road legal/track day car want a good deal of power (strong engine), suspension, brakes etc etc, stipped out caged up etc im going to need a base car to work on and need some ideas on what model to go for now in my ideal world i would like a classic now if i go to classic what would be a good base car to work with (perferably a late model 1999 ish)?? this is a project that will probably take a few years and i will be looking into getting the car towards the end of the year so for now a general concencus on model i will be doing some of the fitting my self but the build will mostly commisioned by a performance center as i really dont have the time ed
  21. Just a touch lol I couldnt belive how bad the standard horns are in a subaru, must have been the last bit they added when money was low my vectras horn was awsome compaired to the standard subaru horn im glad i took the extra time in mounting them behind the grill think it makes all the diference and lets the sound escape a bit more
  22. Ok went to fit these today after the mot, the only horn to fit was the one that sits behind the passenger side headlight so i sacked that idea and mounted them both behind the grille using the holes that are already on the car as mounting places
  23. hmm not sure, could have been being it was edgar street, you never know very nice impreza history there,
  24. hi there i have a 2000 x reg turbo 2000 classic and from my house in herefordshire to my familys place in kent is 237 miles and it cost me about 30 quid in optimax that is after remap, sports cat, decat center section, afterburner back box, afterburner panel filter and sti top mount intercooler, i think that is a fairly good MPG on the insurance front, i am with HIC they were my best price i could get for my age (23 with 3 years no claims) 900 quid fully comp with all the trimmings. HIC were not bothered with whats been done they just wanted to know what bhp increase the mods have made and how many have been made, they gave me a qoute then asked me what the mods were when they called back to see if they could cover me (they had to check with supervisor) the quote was the same when they called back again once he had updated the supervisor they did the same with my kad mini which has upwards of 25 mods
