About kad 16v

  1. Change of plan tony, need to change the coolant in the mini and I felt sorry for the T20. So I have taxed it today and washed it so I will bring the T20
  2. I will be there but not in the type 20 I'm afraid. I will still be in something cool though
  3. Sorry I couldn't attend, I was down in kent doing some aerial photography of the newly built largest solar farm in the UK. I will try my best to get to the next one, looks like I missed out on a good afternoon.
  4. It was at 350bhp and 350 lbft torque, I've got 420bhp and 400 lbft torque now. To be honest I could have run better times when I went the first time as I didn't play with tyre pressures at all. Fingers crossed for ok weather in March so I can have another go
  5. Hi there, I have run both my type 20 impreza at santa pod and my classic mini, the later on Sunday just gone. It's a chilled out affair really. If it's your first time there I suggest having a little mechanical sympathy for your car as damage can be done launching to hard. Take some form of checking tyre pressures and a pump. More tyre pressure gives less grip off the line but less drag at higher speeds so you may go through the 1/4 faster but vital seconds could be lost in spinning your wheels up at the start line. Less tyre pressure gives more grip which is good but again it's quite easy to have to much grip and damage your drivetrain, and in turn less pressure will slow your overall speed down. I ran 36psi front and 34 rear with no traction issues off the line so probably could of upped my pressures to 40-45 all round to bring my speed up but I didn't worry about all that as I was having fun. I plan on going on the first RWYB in March (Sunday 9th) if I remember correctly with the type 20. Last time I went I was getting 12.3, now I have more power and torque plus better know how on tyre pressures I hope to hit high 11s. Good time of the year to go as it's not stupidly busy so no extrended wait in line to get on, which is never good for heat soak. If the weather is due to be dry then hopefully see you there Ed
  6. The type 20 is now off the road, keeps the miles down and the roads around here are pretty poor during the colder months with more and more pot holes turning up overnight. The Toyota Hilux is my daily, that's made to take the chips from the gritters. Another thumbs up for rainex, I use it on all 3 of my cars, even on the drivers and passengers window.
  7. Depends when it is as I'm not in Kent all the time but I'd be interested
  8. I've got that cheapie eBay thing which is just good enough for picking number plates up, but you can't beat the quality of your camera Matt unless you put a gopro in there but that to bulky and would be stolen in no time. It is a good camera yours
  9. Are you going up in the morning Tony? Or overnighting it somewhere near combe?
  10. Glad you've got your plate back on mate. The amount of waves I used to get when I still had it on the T20 was crazy, surprised I didn't get pulled out the car and accused of stealing it when driving round the city lol
  11. I know mattJ will be traveling up from Kent but not sure when he is
  12. Welcome back Matt, will see you at Lydden Hill on the 7th for track day (subject to the weather) if your still free.
  13. Indeed very shady area. The emergency services have a system called run lock which essentially left the engine running with the keys removed. This was mostly used on vehicles fitted with power intensive emergency lights I.E halogen bulbs, now with the LED market taking over this is not so important but will probably still be fitted to local police cars etc that use halogen still as they don't need the brightness so much, works off the same idea though with a kill switch on the handbrake when taken off. As for the turbo timer, not really needed as you still need to stay near the car to lock it with the fob as it won't lock with fob or arm anything until the engine is off, well my old turbo 2000 wouldn't with its sigma alarm
  14. HT Autos sell one much like that as well. Got one on my T20 and its fine, fits perfect. They were doing free shipping when I got mine http://subaru-impreza-body-kits.co.uk/splitter-front-lip-spoilers_3.html#
