  1. exactly my thinking Just shows that more people would probably use Crail if they tidied it up a bit!
  2. I had one on my last car for a full year and there was quite alot of stuff stuck to it The filter mags are supposed to be a much better option though as they are bigger and catch almost the full through-flow all the time
  3. can't wait to see this in the flesh at the weekend, it looks a bit mental
  4. £35 all in? Strip too? Sounds not too bad at all
  5. Juging by the bucket seat and roll cage it must be a sleeper of some sort.... or the farmer just likes to be secure
  6. some impressive looking machines there! What was the tractor all about???
  7. how much was it to get in and on the strip?
  8. turns out this is the same guy I was on about stuart@towlegal.co.uk or phone 07721 659731
  9. I second that I looked at getting a normal Hawk Eye STi and adding the usual bits to it, until I discovered that the insurance would be MORE than the RB320 I ended up getting with all the bits on it already
  10. there's a guy on the Landrover site I'm on involved in some sort of safe towing group, so I'll ask him if there's any he could suggust that are a bit closer
  11. a very impressive pair you have there I keep threatening to buy my mate's slightly tuned Type R for a track toy.... looks and sounds like fun!
  12. I do a bit of towing with my Defender, and when the other half was moving house I went to hire a box trailer After spending hours reading up on it I concluded that you could tow up to the Gross weight of the vehicle, so in my case 2.5 tonnes... wrong! It's all very complicated, but the local hire place said the same thing as above. 750kg un-braked on a normal licence. Anything over that or with a braked trailer you need to sit an additional test I wonder how many people are towing caravans illegally thinking they are ok?
  13. there's a good guy in Kincardine that does it if you are in the central belt I'll be doing the same soon
  14. but the local force website has to by law state all the sites they use The Central Scotland force has one, I found it once by accident and it had a few on it I had never seen a cop car sitting, until one day right enough there was one there!
  15. there's a few of them, normalyy tarted up GTS's, non turbos and mingers It would have to be that Westfield 2000 for me, by far the best play thing possible
  16. sounds like you had a fun time You'll have a fair bit of support behind you at Knockhill anyway
  17. I've got a Snooper Sapphire, and it's normally very accurate I like the sound of your one though
  18. Result! That'll be £200 please (remote assistance etc)
  19. I thought the power wandering issue was just me being silly, but the first time I took my grandad out in it (he used to rally and auto-test mini's back in the day) commented on how it felt a bit strange in the corners It might just be because it's the first Impreza I've had so I'm not used to how the AWD works Although I do admit I leave it in auto for motorway and short trips, but always in manual when I got out for a play, which is the only thing the RB does 80% of the time anyway lol oh and I forgot to say in the first post - if the diff is in auto you get all sorts of weird noises off it when you reverse, but in manual it's fine
  20. welcome not seen a murtaya yet so can't wait to see it
  21. any chance that one of the boost pipes has come off / split? Have a look at where the Apexi is piped in. I'm sure someone told me that can cause the car to cut out or go into limp home mode
  22. I've been playing around with this myself lately and I now tend to drive with the diff in manual all the time, normally with the lights sitting about in the middle of the range as I found that to be the best all round position for me anyway I found with the extra power of the RB the auto setting couldn't quite keep up some times, and you could feel the power shifting about in hard corners and roundabouts - not a nice feeling at all! When the bias is towards the front I found that the car tends to understeer alot more on roundabouts, and you notice torque steer a bit more Towards the rear and the trail ends starts getting twitchy, but that means in the damp you can kick the back out and hold it fairly easily (almost makes you look like you know what you are doing!) best bet is to ignore the manual and go play with it... that's the best way to learn
  23. there was talk of Knockhill making one Crail used to run a few events up at the Edzel US air base on the way to Aberdeen... I went to a few up there and the whole place is much better suited for it... but for some reason they stopped using it
  24. it's because it's a listed historic site, so they're not allowed to change it even if they wanted to It has improved slightly over the past years, but it's still a rip off considering what a state the place is in - that and it's on a hill! The scene hasn't quietened down, Crail have gotten lazy. The last Max power day was a joke, as said you would never have known it was anything to do with them. Even the pole dancers were half cut skanks I was at the Fast Ford day a few months back and it was nearly dead. Reminded me exactly why I stopped going, and I won't be going again any time soon
  25. no bad at all considering how limited you were Did that last Evo catch it or did he end up taking the scenic route? lol
