  1. Aye, I remember reading that article when it was published back in January 2009
  2. Sounds like he's a couple of pubes short of a plughole!
  3. And at the original uncensored version of Graeme's post too! And they say he "just drinks to be sociable"?!
  4. Should that not be "the world's your oobster"?
  5. Just to say that I think it's rather nice - don't see many Hawk turbo wagons around and about Agreed about that STI badge!
  6. Seeing is believing, Den Wouldn't be my cup of tea on the standard bodywork, but looks the part when combined with your existing Rally regalia
  7. Thanks for all the comments, guys! Aye Derek, early days - but I'm very pleased so far Thanks Greig - the fitting was carried out by Hypertech in Bonnybridge. Cheers, and you're absolutely right - a front lip looks great on a Hawkeye. You know, that's one of only two cosmetic mods I'd consider making to the car - that and a set of Blobeye rear tail lamps to replace the plasticy 'Lexus style' efforts. Just couldn't justify spending cash on cosmetic stuff just now... I could barely justify the KWs TBH, but they do add so much to the car I think they're worth it As accurately as I can measure, it now sits 4cm lower front and 3cm lower rear.OK over speed bumps so far, but the real test will be next week...
  8. Hello and welcome to the forum Sounds like an unfortunate incident on the motorway there - good that Grieves were able to polish out most of the damage - phew! Generally found Charlie helpful when I've used Grieves for servicing too.
  9. Had some KW Variant 3 coilovers and a Whiteline Anti-Lift Kit fitted today - I'll wade straight in with some attention-grabbing pics Before: After: ...also went for a 'fast road' geometry (i.e. touch more neg. camber). Early days yet, but body roll has been reduced significantly and steering is more responsive, with a sharper turn-in. The car seems really eager to change direction, which makes for a very pleasing drive. Certainly, if desired, roundabouts can be dispensed with at an unfeasible rate! Delighted with the ride quality - slightly firmer than before over small road imperfections, but with a 'rounded' feel that's not harsh or crashy at all. Over uneven road surfaces the ride actually feels better - more controlled and less inclined to deviate from the chosen path. Bit less bounce than before, but still maybe a tad more than I'd prefer..... might have to play with the rebound setting, see if that can be dialed out Thanks to young Dunc and the guys at Hypertech for their work on the fitting, thanks to Dunc senior for taking the time to chat about the setup before and after purchasing, and thanks to Alex for making everything go smoothly Can't wait to take it out for a proper run now...
  10. Thanks for posting - I wasn't aware of Alistair's services until now. Steep SW license fees have put me off remapping in the past, so this is of particular interest.
  11. Sounds like a liability
  12. The Milleniums are nice, really nice... but on a Wagon? ...no' so sure
  13. Then that's a healthy amount of juice in a relatively light Scoob
  14. That's perfect Sinny, thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions - very helpful Keeping having fun with all your newly-acquired performance!
  15. Cheers Sinny! What made you replace the up-pipe, out of curiosity? I didn't think the STI had a cat in there? Does your centre section delete the lower cat, or the 'resonator' section, or both? Do you reckon the ProDrive back box is much less restrictive than standard, or were you just after a bit more burble? Hope you don't mind aw the questions, just trying to work out what's required if/when I get around to this 392lb/ft sounds like a wh*re of a lot torquies from the standard turbo, BTW!
  16. Sounds great. What kind of Impreza do you drive?
  17. Sounds like fun. Which hardware mods did you do prior to the remap? Cheers.
  18. Very nice - always loved the look of the GB270 Torquey beast too!
  19. You printed the MOT cert from your PC?
  20. Power steering mod - interesting KW are due to be fitted in a couple of weeks - had to be ordered from the factory, apparently... Cannae wait!
  21. Similar recent thread here: http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=150367 I went for Brembos at £164 from here: http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/produ...roducts_id=1426 Service from the above vendor was very quick and communicative
  22. I don't think the Scooby's light steering is a function of 4WD, TBH - more likely a combination of the level of power assistance, the steering components (bushes, etc) and the suspension geometry... Whiteline offer various products which claim to help by modifying the latter two of the above: http://www.just-subaru.com/suspension-hawk-eye-69870-0.html
  23. Aye, I'd be interested in hearing how you get on with the 1144s - if they work OK for you I'll maybe sling them on my back brakes come the time
  24. Interesting, cheers. More weight in the steering would be a good thing indeed
