  1. Just a wee note to say I haven't forgotten this... Jon just seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth! Will keep trying if, for no other reason, to get monies back for those who're out of pocket assuming I can't get the orders completed. Thanks Glyn
  2. Now Rich, I hope you didn't sell the windscreen to pay for the cage... I know yer skint after buying the CTR, BUT.... *lol* Looks good mate. Keep it coming!
  3. Geez.... THAT's quite a tale of woe! At least you're sorted out now, mate, by the sound of it... still makes the pocket hurt though I'd imagine. Gutted for ya!
  4. Strewth! That's a bit committed! Good on you mate, but I'll be surprised if you can hear much above the road noise... Looking forward to your efforts. BTW, where are you from? Indeedy... you have a goat, mate, albeit just to say thanks. Still fairly convinced this is nearside dash though, rather than middle... any way of telling if the airbag's loose anyone? I don't fancy a head-on to test it out *chuckle*!
  5. See THIS thread in Scottish Scoobies > Events Cheers Glyn
  6. Guys, as some of you may know, Jon has had some awful car probs of late and as such is now without a scooby (no pun intended!) He's also got serious phone line and - as a result - internet access probs and I'm not therefore sure how much access he has to SIDC let alone his PM inbox. Using what details I have, I'll TRY and sort out what's happening with clothing/ orders etc, but it will take time... please DON'T bombard my PM inbox or Jon's - he possibly won't get them... and I may not have time to respond if I get a million PMs!!! I WILL however post up once I have more details... folk who've ordered WILL get their stuff (or a refund when I'm able) but PLEASE don't submit any more orders just yet till we get this sorted. Thanks for your continued patience! Glyn
  7. I was a bit disappointed when I opened this thread, actually... I thought brian had jacked in his Red hatch ALREADY and bought a GTR!!! Must say, I know which I'd spend £65K on between a GTR and this!
  8. *chortle* On the subject on "one-up-manship", sir, those are clearly SUPERleggeras unless you've been hard at the photoshop! *lol* Bit of fun & no flames intended... OZs ROCK!!! ...And I can't resist EITHER... *lol*
  9. This one's been flagged up on SIDC before several months ago... CAN'T think why it's not selling...
  10. Thought you'd bought her a new Clio RS? And then I spotted the scoob in Kirkcaldy fairly recently... problemo? Geo, for info, the parcel shelf fix is a doddle - get some self-adhesive 1-1.5cm wide velcro, take the 2 screws out of the springy end of the shelf "bar" (watch the cap doesn't go ping!) and then stick a "fuzzy" side of velcro round the end and rebuild it. Fits snugly but will still spring to hold the shelf in place... and NO NOISE! ... glad SOMEONE else has the same prob so I know I'm not going TOTALLY barking. Keep in touch mate. Might try a few of these other suggestions: Now, I wondered about this... stealer mentioned something about the sensor at one point, but I didn't really catch on... any chance of a "how-to" on yanking the stereo? I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to ripping bits off me pride and joy *chuckle* I'll PM you, mate. Any chance of copying that to me mate? I did the glovebox thang thisn afternoon as per your earlier post... tipped a whole load of crap out of the filter panel and *touches wood* NO noise since... but ain't REALLY been down the roads it used to rattle on since... not at any speed anyway! Bloomin' icy in places... there were 3 cars of en-route to work this morning and it was just as chilly tonight so I didn't push it. Will likewise keep y'all posted. Thanks guys. Further input welcome. Glyn
  11. Just wondered if I'm alone in this or whether it's something to take up with the stealership... For some time now have heard an occasional tapping noise somewhere behind/ above the glovebox. Difficult to replicate - and no I DON'T have anything in the 'box/ on the floor/ under the seat/ under the mat. Its increased to more of a rattle like a small bunch of keys, especially on rougher roads and perhaps also when it's colder (might be overplaying that bit...). The wife can defo hear it - thought I was making it up before. Have checked the visible bits of dash/ trim, windscreen, engine bay... can't replicate the noise at all. Wouldn't be, for example, passenger airbag coming loose? not sure how you'd even begin to check. Anyone else got this niggle (and it is just a niggle, but I wondered all the same!) Or is it just lil' ol' me? Glyn
  12. I guess there's a small chance that the green bits might JUST be vinyl overlays... Then again...
  13. ...And it is - PPP gives you a Prodrive ECU which eradicates the mapping problem on the non-PPP cars although i'd think most of the new ones now will come out the factory sorted anyway... hopefully! ...but then this has all been covered elsewhere... back to the topic in hand. Glyn
  14. Oh! Geo beat me to it... never mind! For info, am running Uniroyal Rainsport 2s in 235/35/19 trim on 19*8 et +45 OZ Ultraleggeras custom drilled from an Audi fitment (5x112) by Revolution as per their demo car. Handling is fine... but Geo, I'll be in touch EVENTUALLY when pennies permit for some ARBs etc... Yes you do... it's a metasat system, you should get a weird text message with your login details and an envelope from your dealer. If not, query it. Glyn
  15. Hi mate... have just done mine and was looking around for the same sort info at the time, so here goes... IIRC the wheels u have are 18 *8.5. I went by the fitment guide on Rochford tyres website. 225s'll fit on those rims fine although they won't give 'em much kerbage protection. Not an issue if you're swapping anyway though... HOWEVER... bear in mind that the "40" bit means the tyre sidewall is 40% of the width of the tread, ie: 40% of 225mm ain't the same as 40% of 245mm. It means your 245 wheels will have about 15-16mm greater diameter than the 225s which equates to about 50mm greater circumference, ie: your 245s will run 50mm further per complete rotation than your 225s... that's quite a lot when you add it up over the course of a journey... This also assumes both sets of tyres have no wear. if your 225s are older, they might have a slightly narrower diameter still due to worn tread. Doesn't make it sound so good m'afraid. Have quite a few good links for alloy/ tyre fitment threads for the hatch... if I can find 'em again, I'll post up. Here's one for starters on IWSTI. Hope this helps. Car looks great mate! Glyn
  16. Nice 'n' shiny... won't stay like that long on these roads *chuckle* Blacked out stealth look is VERY nice... would look good with a matt black resprayed grille... seen this elsewhere - nice. Another hatch convert... welcome to the fold mate! Glyn
  17. Just watch you're not liable for an admin charge if you've cancelled your renewal late... £65 still sounds a bit steep though... maybe £25-30 for something like that. Check your small print VERY carefully and go citizens advice if in doubt. If you ignore it and you ARE liable for this, £65 will seem very cheap indeed if you start having to involve solicitors etc. Bear in mind it might also bounce your credit rating. I agree it sounds like they're at it... just watch your back with them, mate, that's all. Glyn
  18. Had the same dangly wire prob previously. The footwell LED twists and locks into a small port just above the pedals... this'll keep the wire up out the road of yer feet. It's a fiddle to get in, although you've probably figured it out yourself by now. Just another wee niggle I guess!
  19. I've gone OZ (albeit Ultraleggeras... and no, I couldn't find any replicas!) with mine... top quality and very light too, although I know compomotive are not to be sneezed at either. Just watch your wheel offsets as well as the stud pattern.. you might find that makes your decision for you. I had to get an Audi fitment 5x112 and get them custom drilled to 5x114... (although i think classic stud pattern is 5x110 IIRC - feel free to correct). Best offset for hatch STI is about +45... not sure if that goes for classics too, but it'll not be far off. Am putting in another plug here for Revolution as they're top blokes and WELL sorted my wheels... they do their drilling in-house. They'll pricematch as well. If you need more info, PM me. Glyn
  20. Cheers mate. Be interesting to see how the Godspeed discs bear up... keep us posted.
  21. I knew the latter... just wasn't sure if the brembos were 4 pot as well.
  22. Aren't stock STI Brembos 4 pots? Or am I picking you up wrong? What are you running now? STI brembos with braided hoses? Glyn
  23. Sorry mate... oversight on my part, based on the following from Rich's Type-R thread:- Didn't spot that it was such an old post...But looks like we'll have a NEW Tayside "Two-scoobs" bod if THAT'S your game. NUR-Spec all-round and s*d the neighbours I say *lol* Glyn
  24. And did I hear right...? after ALL that you're NOW keeping the RB5 and doing it up? You big tease, you! *chortle*
