Thats a bit strange. My photo card has an expiry 10 years after issue. Just looked up what the deal is, and all photocards expire 10 years. None have expiry at 75 if its more than 10 years from issue date.

Hospital staff going through your Mobile Phone?? I dont think so!! The idea itself is probably a good one but the only person who would go through the phone would be Police. Hospital Staff accessing the info on your phone constitutes an Offence under the DATA PROTECTION act 1998 and more seriously, Privacy Act 1998. Only an Oathed Police Officer (which means your hobby bobby cant do this) is allowed to deem the situation Justisfiable to access your mobile phone for personal information. As i am VERY familiar with a paramedic, i just asked her if she is allowed to do this and the answer *HELL NO!!*

At this present moment in time a 97 model type R with nearly 70k on the clock isnt gonna fetch 6K!! If yours is only worth 1.6k then that should go for 4k!! I wouldnt spend 6k on that car even if i had the money mate! Deffo get him down a fair bit!

Youre welcome. Just make sure the bolts on the ARB and Link are tight, and theres not too much movement sideways on the link. It will move some, and this is normally caused with heavy cornering. its certainly not dangerous at present. Obviously if the Bushes are bad, they can fail, that will leave you with no ARB force on the back, making it a bit wibbly.
-
Looks like flex in the bushes (which is normal) is causing the drop link to rub on the ARB. Its not all that bad, have seen some really bad! If youre worried, get Hypertech to check the bushes in the ARB and drop link arent loose. but id wager that its just flex.

if youre looking at 350Bhp then an external wastegate is about as necessary as a parrot dropping piston! echo what KP above says, theyre NEEDED on high flow engines that are producing serious BOOST PRESSURES, because as we all know, what goes in MUST come out, and a normal penny type wastegate will just blow open at those pressures. Hence the need for external wastegate. The cost involved is high. Firstly you require a turbo that does not have integral Wastegate housing, then a completely different manufactured up-pipe with branch tee'd for the EW fitment. Then you require a Downpipe made with another branch Tee, and made precisely so that when it bolts to the flange of the turbo output, the tee's flange fits to the output of the External wastegate. This is not something thats easy for everybody to do. Personally, theyre not something you need to be contemplating!!

Import TURBO and UK TURBO are the same UK SPORT is different.

98 have a different ECU. cant put sisterboard, piggyback or even remap the original. Has to be standalone ECU change. 00 model has phase 2 engine, different ECu. will allow piggyback and remap of original.

Private sale at the moment isnt all that great. £1600 for trade is pathetic mate, its worth more than that to you. breaking the car probably wont be brilliant but MAY make more money that selling. Although from the sounds of things, you need a quick sale, and breaking the car will take a while. The problem is the money at the moment. People just dont want to spend too much, so what your car was worth last year is way lower this year. Good luck.

let me list a few directives for you! 1: You can go out at night without your scooby bitching. 2: you can ride in your mates scooby and yours wont get upset. 3: your scooby is ALWAYS ready for action. 4: if you look at other scoobys on the internet, yours wont get p1ssed OFF! 5: you can have two scoobys at one time and its ok. 6: you can trade your scooby in for a younger model without all the arguments 7: if you do get rid of your scooby, it wont come back after 6 months claiming its pregnant!!

Been out this morning to play. brilliant if theres somewhere to mess around safely.. to the rest of you having to drive to wrok, BE CAREFUL!!! the idiots that dont understand how to drive on snow and messy roads are out in force this morning!! Lets all stick to the principle, NOTHING is worth ending up in a ditch, in the side of a car, or worse in hospital for.

Mine is a 98 model, running an Apexi FC, they are available, give Paul at ZEN PERFORMANCE a call, he can supply and fit for you. Mine is now running over 300 (a touch!) with supporting mods. www.zenperfomance,co.uk

Mine is a 98 model, i had Paul at ZEN PERFORMANCE fit and map an Apexi. this is the way to go mate unless you want antilag and launch control. It replaces the ECU you have as its not mappable nor can you fit a sister board, (piggyback) to yours.

Impretty sure thatuntaxed vehicles NOT booked in to a pre-MOT face a fine and POSSIBLE destruction of the vehicle depending on the circumstaces. Obviously, if youre caught a couple of weeks out of Tax, there should be some leniency. If youre months out, i do believe the Law states they have the right to seize the vehicle, and DVLA are allowed to crush.

Suspension setup can m,ake a car or totally ruini a car. Its not simple and unless you have a lot of experience in suspension and the effects, its best left to a pro. I did mine, took me all damn day with runs up and down and an afternoon at Mallory for final set up. Do as these guys say and get it to a decent tuner.

Mine is being replaced this coming week. Paul at ZEN told me that it isnt necessary to DEFINENTLY change the tensioner when you do the belt ..... BUT..... theres two things here. 1: if the belt is off, and it looks like the tensioner is ok. you fit a new belt but unfortunately the tensioner fails in 5000 miles destroying your engine, was it worth the saving of the extra £100?? 2: the hard work is done!! you may as well change the tesioner for a new one!! thats just my two pennies!! Edited as i cant F***ing spell!!!

Guys!! When Our boss came to us after loosing the GM vauxhall Vectra cup car contract, telling us that we had a new contract with Hyundai to make the rally cars, id say that 99% of us laughed!! We thought he had lost his marbles!! Renault had just pulled the plug on the Touring cars we built, and then vauxhall pulling, he took on the VECTRA GSI rebuilds for vauxhall to make ends meet. Then to have this come along was perposterous!! BUT, i have to say the early days of build were a bit iffy. The original coupe we built it on wasnt anywhere near good enough to adapt. However when Alistair McRae walked in (we honestly did not know at that time he was being signed) and said he would be driving one of these cars, again there were looks of horror!! But it did play out ok. I wont say they were the best cars but noone could say they didnt stand a chance. I think that Proton deserve a go. If race teams and the industry reveolved around high performance high status cars like Mitsibushi, subaru, porche, BMW, Audi, etc then where is the potential for lesser companies to break into an opening? Also having a little bit of competition, even if it is from a much lesser capable company always injects a decent amount of Forward momentum in the industry. Having said that, The company i worked for when we did the Hyundai fell flat on its face after a while!! but i cant put that down to the car!!!
