  1. Depends on what engine you have. The 98 was right on the cusp of Phase 1.5 and Phase 2 engines. If your COIL PACK is in the middle of the intake manifold, and the AIR CONTROL VALVE is a hunky thing on the right hand side, then its a Phase 1.5 If the COIL PACK is on the right hand side and the AIC valve is smaller, then you have a phase 2 Bear in mind, thats a visual check on a STANDARD CAR, if someone has messed about and fitted a later intake or such like then youll not know for certain, youll then need to look at the fuel rails. Phases do use different fitments for injectors. Try taking a pic of the engine and injectors with fuel rail and we may be able to give you an idea. Good luck.
  2. They are Subaru 4 pot brakes, all working perfectly, in black with the white SUBARU raised lettering. Came off a 99 model. http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=122079
  3. Tinted windows pose a safety threat to people at night, as previously stated in Summer time with harsh sun they are great but as soon as the dark falls, they are deadly. Ive had many pull out on me in the bike because they just cant see!! Loud exhausts and de-cats dont cause you to loose ability to drive. I believe that loud exhausts as long as they are not obtrusive are not a major point the law enforcement should worry about! Tints on front windows i do!! also if you can remove before the window is tested then they cant do anything, but if they test it first and then you peel it off, you might find a decent cop give a bit of leniency. My friend had it on his Voyager to stop the kids from cooking in the sun, got stopped 3 weeks ago coming out of lowestoft. The cop tested the windows and when Ian pulled the film off afterwards, he said he would not give him the points, just a £30 fine.
  4. WOW!! was that really the way they delivered the car to you?????? Thats appalling! Absolutely excellent job on the recification though!! and those rally mudflaps really work with the car too. The numberplate looks cool too, although i wonder how the local plod will react. Its not as bad as some i have seen so hopefully they will leave you alone on that!!
  5. Hammy, i am guessing that you have the pipe off the car. Id imagine it to be nearly impossible with it fitted. I did mine by holding it rigid in a vice, then making sure i kept the wrap tight, and made sure i had at least a 1/3rd over wrap. Then use the Steel type clips. it takes some elbow grease and a little patience to do the job right mate.
  6. If anyone is also interested in NEW music, My nephew (who was my Agent) runs the vril, http://thevril.com He promotes new bands either just signed or being signed up and some of the talent he has come across is really good! He only promotes TRUE bands, not electronica or anyone who cant play an instrument!! thought that a lot of the music lovers on here might want to listen to whats going to be in the charts soon!!

    Ecu Swap

UK spec cars also run a 3 plug BUT the JDM vehicles have a slightly different pin layout, theres a couple of the wires that youll need to change over in order for it to work, and then you will deffo need a remap to use on your engine.
  10. Shiralee, i have a set of 16" with nearly new tyres i was going to sell for £100. If kip doesnt need them to put on his car for the time being, then i will let you have them at a cheap price!!
  11. Eureka, that is not the largest they do mate, theres a TD07 25g and a TD08 28g models, both of which are capable of 800+hp
  12. I have one on mine, it isnt exactly a DIRECT bolt on as such, but isnt a major job either. The holes line up, but you have to use bolts rather than the original fixings. Not a problem though and i like mine!!
  13. Welcome to the club!! Can i just say that for a youngster, you have got some good ideas and what im reading shows that yorue determined to make things right rather than bodge and 'CHAV' them. WELL DONE!! The car looks very nice, id keep the colour red, as a full respray otherwise youll have to do the whole thing, engine bay, door shuts, etc. Also, the front bumper looks a bit iffy mate, not quite as clean as the rest by the looks of things. Other than that, good car, glad to see you here!
  14. John i have done tests with the CAF systems and the Std airbox with a modified feed, and the difference is amazing. http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=120275 Heres the post with the mods. If you want to know how to mod the intake tube inside the Wing, Pm me and ill explain.
  15. John, why do you want an induction kit? Are you running a Front mount? If not, id advise you stay with the Airbox and a free flow filter, along with a mod for the cold air feed. Induction kits pull hot air in from the engine bay and that is not good for the Turbo engines.
  16. damn right craigy!! we had a fantastic day!! went up snowdon on the HARDEST route, with the first 1000 feet as rocky roads, the next thousand as very steep rocky steps, and the last thousand feet or so as complete vertical hands and feet rock climbing. I carried a total weight of 45lbs on my back, and Craig, myself, marcus and Steve went back down the WATKIN path to fetch the cars, We set a fearsome pace and managed the top to the bottom in 1 1/2 hours!!! thats a record for me!! Thanks to everyone who sponsored us, and thanks to Craigy, who worked like a horse on this climb!! i am now going to bed, as i a shattered!!!
  17. I agree too!! its nice that there are members and users on this forum that are willing to lend a hand to others! Well done, and good luck sorting the box out!!
  18. Well i feel sorry for the person whos car is now damaged. If idiots like that want to kill themselves then id let them, saves us tax payers having to pay for that helicopter and treatment of two deranged idiots. Couldnt the highways agency just back over them both and finish the job?? This is the reason we carry guns on duty in america.
  19. neither Hammy, the VF35 isnt a TD05 at all!
  20. yeah but skull promises to only use 1st and second!!!
  21. That test will not work on the models they have tested. The cars used were built and their ECU fueling is set to standard 95 ron, (meaning less advance and regulated fuel via the lambda readings) so putting higher octane in will NOT IMPROVE performance or mileage. The whole reason we need high octane fuel is because with most turbo cars, the fuel has a tendancy to burn late, causing Detonation, therefore high octane fuel burns more complete, therefore (again) the fuel does not ignite again and create a detonation in the cylinder. Secondly we run mapped vehicles and that means the fuel is optimised to be as close to 14.1:1 as possible giving the best burn you can get, and also the advaced timing means more power. HOWEVER with lower RON fuel it will simply not burn correctly, causing DET, (meaning the engine management will back off!) and less power, so all in all, Thanks WHICH magazine for a totally useless test for PERFORMANCE cars!!!
  22. try these guys [link] http://www.thor-racing.co.uk/Knock_Link-LNK_KNK_LNK.asp[/link]
