  1. Don't know the guy but still shocking. Get well soon mate. Best wishes to the family
  2. I can only echo what others have said. As far as i am concerned Subaru have treated their customers in an appalling way. The lack of good solid pro-active steps was the approach needed once failure started to take a grip. I am another one who has Subaru in my blood. I doubt i could ever trust the brand again though Quite surprised really that they are still trading (all things considered).
  3. Well the website is up. Was it worth the wait........not really. Let's hope there is a lot more to come.
  4. It is a bit on the p$*£. Noticed that on Sunday as i was chatting to Tony. Didn't have the heart to say anything. Nice car though Tony.
  5. It's turning into another Subaru marketing disaster. This is exactly what they did with the CS400. They really should learn to keep things under wraps until they are ready to go.
  6. Mark Which area of Derbyshire are you based and have you got any thoughts on where the meets may be? Mike
  7. Great looking car Tony. Silver strip on the boot has to go but other than that, spot on. Happy days !!!
  8. It was a good day (but i am suffering now). Good to chat with fellow Hatch owners. Sorry i missed you Phil i did visit your car a couple of times but you must have been sunbathing on one of the other stands. Roll on NBO 10 Mick
  9. Fitted the Godspeed grooved discs on mine with Mintex pads. Smiles better. Service was good to.
  10. Shocking Tony but not that surprising given everything that goes on with Subaru these days
  11. The truth is Subaru are not interested or cannot sort out this three year old problem. They have been content to sit back and keep pumping out replacement engines. There is no way they would take this commercial decision if there was a more straight forward and cheaper fix. Warranties are now expiring and they will walk away and no doubt breath a huge sigh of relief. As for the PPP cars suffering less failures. I am not sure where that info has come from but i suspect pro-rata the facts will show they actually have a higher failure rate. The engine is under engineered and does not meet its advertising claims or prove to be durable. Subaru not so long ago issued a technical statement, diverting the blame for failure onto customers who had modified there cars, bought imports etc. It will be very interesting to see what advice is given if we say buy a Pro-R exhaust, air filter or similar. Will this automatically involve a re-map ? Can the cars now suddenly cope with modification Anyway none of this is down to Pro-R, so the very best of luck with your new venture. Once again sorry to drift off topic.
  12. Darren / Stu Are you saying you have no knowledge of 330S engine failures. Do you not think that if the issues with engine failure were as simple as mapping problems, then Subaru would have put this to bed in 2008. Engines continue to fail despite the Subaru instructed re-flash and in some cases multiple engine fitments. Very recent cars seem to be holding up better and i certainly don't believe for one second that this is down to the luck of the draw. Sorry to go off topic but feelings still run high with many customers who have spent circa £30,000 to be left sitting in what would appear to be ticking bombs. Apologies again Pro-R. I really hope you can pull Subaru's reputation back to something like it was 10 years ago.
  13. Panel filter will be O.K with PPP map. The Typhoon however will involve mapping to be safe.
  14. I see the latest Impreza has a power upgrade. The 320R now on sale. http://subaru.co.uk/new_320r?utm_source=offers/unlike-most-performance-cars-subaru-doesnt-do-compromise-whatever-the-conditions-&utm_campaign=320R%20Offer%20Page&utm_medium=Web%20Redirect Hope the map and pistons on this one are "fit for purpose". Still staggers me that Subaru have plodded on with simply slotting in new engines (as and when they blow up). Putting effort into resolving (by design) the issues with the mapping / pistons on the 08> cars, would have been the right approach . All those loyal Subaru customers gone for ever. What a monumental own goal ehhh
  15. Dave Yes they are 5 x 114. Offset if i recall is 55. Mick
  16. How was the service Dave ?? Anything said about the brakes.
  17. Fuel prices are now crazy and the Middle East troubles mean they are likely to go up by 5p per ltr over the next fortnight. IMO the Government should be doing much more to assist motorists, after all the vast majority of the per ltr price goes to the Government. It's not as if our roads and infrastructure reflect what we pay through petrol and road tax is it !!!
  18. Tony You got any info on the MK II engine ? Can't seem to find anything myself.
  19. The CS400 didn't exactly get a round of applause last night on Top Gear. There does seem to be a bit of Subaru subterfuge with regards to availabilty. Clarkson says they are sold out, reports fromm last year seem to suggest the same. The reality however is that they do seem to have been a bit of a P.R disaster with several delayed launches and reports of limited numbers sold. Taking into account the big prices increases across the STI brand along with similar rises across parts over recent times (not all exchange rate related) a sceptic might suggest that I.M are getting what they can out of the U.K market before a possible change of direction. How do you plead Paul ?
  20. Let's be careful here. There are many Government issues that drive us Petrolheads mad but these are nothing whatsoever to do with the engine failures on our cars. Subaru have under engineered the car for there target market. They no the rules of emission regulations and they have not produced a car that can reliably meet them. The fact there are issues is not my gripe, it's the refusal to accept ownership of the root cause. All we have had is body swerving.
  21. Very well done to SIDC for pushing the point following the Hatch engine failures The explanations from Subaru's M.D regretably just raises my pulse (again). He quotes a 2% failure rate, yet i have an e-mail from Subaru stating the failure rate is running at 7% !!. The whole tone of the reply once again appears to lift the responcibility from the shoulders of Subaru and drop it straight onto their customers. My own opinion is that Subaru have tried there level best to body swerve this issue from day one. There are mapping issues which would appear to be un-resolved. The original reflash proceedures were handled poorly (check the forums). I am not convinced that Subaru are being honest with their customers and for this reason they have lost a huge amount of brand loyalty. There is still a cloud hanging over the Hatch STI and Subaru have failed to grasp how concerning this is for there customers. We enter a period soon where early cars run out of warranty. Lets see how customer focussed Subaru are then. Respect your customers Subaru, don't treat us all as fools !!!
