About big_dave

  1. Scoobyclinic is just outside Chesterfield and is on a farm. I'm no expert on major mods but from my experience with them they'll be able to tailor a package for you. If you try Roger Clarke you might get more luck on google!
  2. In all honesty I'd fire an email off to some of the more recognisable scooby tuners and see what they say. I took mine to scoobyclinic (although only for a modest 50bhp increase) and would recommend them.
  3. I put my car in to settle a bet with a mate over whoes car was worth more, and they offered me £17525 in January, just did it again and it's now worth £13415!! The fact that they exsist at all is a real shame
  4. Cheers for that. As I said I'm clueless with that model/year so thought I'd do him a favour. As Simon said it was the insurance costs that got him hooked into the sport, I guess there's a reason they're so good!
  5. I've got a mate whoes just got a 51 sport and he's already after a bit more ooomph! I'll be the first to admit that I know nothing about the sport model and his question was how can he get more power cheaply? Would it be possible to simply bolt a turbo on and off we go, or are there implications? Help!!!!
  6. Sounds like you've done exactly what I've done to my hatch! I went for the perrin CAI, a remap and the full decat on my sti from scoobyclinic and it's very loud, but that's what I wanted! I'm no expert but I don't think there's much more you can do to the exhaust apart from taking the cat out. I think the only problem with driving it on an unmapped induction kit is you might get an engine management light pop on because of the different air flow rates, but as dipsy said; take it easy (as tempting as it is to floor it!!) and it'll be OK
  7. Haha, Bazza is looking at what else that sort of money could buy now, and it is true that you can get much more for your money. I think it all comes down to that little orange badge for him and the rarity of it.
  8. I've got a mate whoes interested in getting an RB320, only problem is that they're so expensive for what they are. Is it really worth the extra money for the exclusivity or should he just get a black STI? Discuss!!!!!!
  9. Does anyone know the stud diameter and offset for the 2008 sti? I think it's 5x114 with an offset of 53, but thought it would be wise to check first!
  10. Never went in due to work commitments. Got it re-booked for a couple of weeks so I'll let you know when it's been in
  11. Try this mate http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2471071.htm I dunno if thats a good price or not. Have you tried any subaru breakers?
  12. My hatch is going in for a service next week and they'll have a good ol' look at the brakes, so if they've got any tips I'll let you know
  13. Sooooooo glad to here it's not just mine that does that! I live quite close to the sea and had to leave it outside for three weeks a while ago. When I came back it looked like the discs had been sprayed a completely different and rustier colour. Had to go nearly 500m with left foot on the brake to clean them back off!
