  1. Oh yeah Er...what I meant was I'd test them on the way to the meet.....no-one else involved as we'll be enjoying the scenery
  2. And there's me thinking they must be new cos I hadn't heard of them!!!
  3. Yeah, still running the OEM discs but with uprated pads all round. Haven't had a problem but don't leave my braking to the last second. We'll see how it goes on the club run next month! Still got a bit of life left in the pads but once they're on the way out, I'll look at getting the discs and I'll let you know.
  4. Nice one See on April 2nd for the first run!!!! Keep a check on the Events section of the forum.
  5. Yeah, heard a lot of good stuf about the Performance friction stuff. The DBA seemed good as they weren't too dear either.
  6. Hi folks, Was up at Hypertech recently and asking Duncan if it was worth upgrading my discs rather than just better pads and OEM discs on my WRX. Duncan recommended the DBA 4000 series (which I hadn't heard of) with Ferodo pads. Just wondered if anyone has them/has used them. Thanks
  7. Hello and welcome Get rid of your credit card!
  8. John, As I've just put on my new F1 Asymmetrics, I've still got my Pirelli P7000s and the tread is ok on them. They are 215/45/17 though. Yours if you want them.
  9. Hello and welcome Get your car spec up with the photos. We like to see what everyone else is driving
  10. Have a look here http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/ Follow the link to your model year for tuning and mapping and you can use that as a shopping list
  11. Thankfully I've a garage at home but always wondered if I'd want to keep the car if there was a failed attempt to steal it from my house!!! You'd be thinking they were coming back. Bit different that they try to take it on a busy street though. Then again.....how many times would you see someone at a car and because it was in broad daylight etc, you might just think they were getting into their own car and not give it a second thought.
  12. That's it mate.....you put the fear into Chris so he doesn't leave the window all day tomorrow!!!
  13. That's pi$h...but at least you still have it! I'm all for deterrent. I think it's human nature that people like that will move onto the next car/house if they think it's an easier job.....unless they were particularly after a Scooby (they could guess it would have security!) I got a steering lock from Halfords and IIRC it's Thatcham Cat 3 so it should at least last a bit longer than some others.
  14. Hello and welcome If the car's standard.....cut up the credit card now!!!!
  15. (Police hat on) While I don't approve of the same cops (if that's the case) stopping the same person over and over, you have to remember that we don't need a reason to stop you really. We can tell you it's for this or that. Thing is, if there hadn't been situations where someone young was driving a certain car and it turned out they didn't have insurance or no licence at all, young drivers wouldn't get stopped....but unfortunately that happens a lot. So, for the sake of a quick check, is that not better than that young driver who isn't insured not being checked and then crashing into you/partner/family member etc? Recently I was behind someone doing 30 in a 60...long queue of traffic behind so I stopped them. I didn't know if they were drunk/ill etc until I stopped them so it has to be done. There is so much that goes on in relation to other crime involving cars aside from driving offences that if cars weren't pulled, a lot of folk would get away with a lot of stuff. Unfortunately, like other jobs, there are ar$es so it's just your luck who you get. Me and the missus have been driving 20 odd years between us and neither of us have ever been pulled over so I guess when you do, it seems worse than it is? As for all the cops in Ork...send some down my way!!! We're always short!!
  16. Hi Chris, Had read the thread at the start but not recently. Should've sent me goats etc Yep, as Stewart said I got the sportscat fitted ages ago. That was one of my first mods. Nice snakehead number and Wullie ran it through a testing station and it was miles away from any figures that would fail. It made it sound a wee bit better and then I got the straight through centre section from Meercat a wee while after that. I'd been told I'd only need the remap when I got the up pipe changed. When I did all the mods, Meercat gave me a nice slip joint up pipe to go with everything else.
  17. IIRC the injectors for classics were different? I think someone has said that to me. Not much help that but as far as newage goes I've got STi pinks in my WRX Blob and the STi TMIC also fits into my WRX just fine.
  18. Can't help you with the problem but hello and welcome to the forum What's the spec of your car? Post up some pics when you can. Whereabouts in Glasgow are you? We have our monthly meeting in Hillington on the first Thurs of every month. Check the Events section.
  19. I've asked my traffic colleagues in the past and most of them are of the opinion that if they can or more importantly, ANPR, can read it then they don't bother. Emphasis on 'most' though. If they are officially illegal....some will ticket you. Depends if the £30 ticket is worth the risk etc etc.

  21. Really sorry to see that Jim. As already said, at least everyone is ok.
  22. Nice one. Did it take much persuasion? Were you passing Grieve's by chance!!!
