  1. I bought my VF34 second hand from a fine chap on the forum so I knew it was a trusted source. I believe Andy F sells them for about £600...IIRC. I had looked on ebay and when I sent a couple of links of 'VF34's' to Andy or other club members, there were a couple where I was told they weren't even VF34's!
  2. Kenny, With my WRX I more or less followed that exact path, with the addition of decattted up pipe that I needed. I used Andy F's website and made myself a tick list for Stage 2a using the VF34. After the remap I had 334/335 with the 2l engine.
  3. Hi Chris, Can't remember if you have an STI? As you know, I have the sportscat/decatted downpipe/up pipe on my WRX...all by Meercat. Only time I had the CEL light come on was right after the up pipe and it was for the EGT sensor prior to remap. Guess that doesn't help!!
  4. Hi, If you're talking about a top mount, do you mean the rubber seal? The undertray that attaches to the bottom of the scoop, makes a seal and gets the best from the scoop? Places like http://www.japperformanceparts.co.uk/ get them in or else try breakers etc.
  5. I think you could call it a vibration. I feel it up the steering wheel if the wheel is turned a bit and I'm putting the foot down a bit. Nothing on wide bends etc.
  6. Hope it helps too!!! Cheers for that. No-one has answered my question about how bad or potentially how bad it is? Go on.....I can take it!!! Just wondered if I need to keep it off high boost?
  7. Haven't noticed that Neil.....yet!
  8. Ok, cheers. Is it anything catastrophic.....or potentially???
  9. Any reason why it would only happen when the car is running on high boost though? I had visions of it being down to too much torque etc etc
  10. Got a decatted downpipe from Meercat when they did the sportscat etc......if that's the same!! Just reading my original post.....I should say that the steering wheel is turned more than just a bit. I won't get it on a sweeping bend etc.
  11. Hi folks, Wondered what your thoughts are on the following. The car: MY05 WRX wagon PPP Uprated turbo etc remapped to 334bhp/335lbft Andy F twin map (changeable via rear demister) Standard internals/clutch/gearbox Noise: This only happens when I've got the car on high boost and when the steering wheel has been turned a bit like if I'm putting the foot down coming off a roundabout or junction etc. I then get a noise...I guess a bit grating sounding. Not metallic though and I can 'feel' it through the steering wheel. The driveshaft has been suggested to me? So, I'm wondering.... 1) Is this bad/something to worry about 2) Something that's going to get worse 3) Do I have to drive around on low boost (about 250bhp) for evermore!!! etc etc Cheers
  12. If I remember, it's when you get rid of the cat in the up pipe. Andy F told me the EGT fault is one that he can clear but can't get rid of permanently......so in goes the resistor. If Andy doesn't have any, you can get them from Maplin etc
  13. Hi, I think you've said you've had other mods before the remap? I uprated my turbo/injectors/up pipe before the remap and my CEL came on for the EGT sensor. All I had to do was get a 2.2k resistor and solder that across the two points and that was that.
  14. Hi, I can vouch for the Meercat sportscat (100 cell). Nice bit of metalwork! Got one on my WRX blobeye. Wullie took it for an emissions test before I got it back and it passed with flying colours. I've kept my Prodrive backbox but got a Meercat centre section as well. Adds to the rumble nicely
  15. Nice total for the charity. So, what other cars turned up and what were they all putting out? Cheers
  16. Hi, I had the P7000s on my WRX when I got it and never liked them....especially in the wet. Now got the eagle asymmetric and really like them. Grip is better....especially in the wet!!! As for noise....not sure because of the exhaust but reckon they are quieter.
  17. Only get two weekends off a month and unfortunately this isn't one of them
  18. Been having a read of the MLR forum and it seems they'll get the 5 cars along after all
  19. Looks good. Hello and welcome to the forum by the way
  20. Hello and welcome C'mon the wagons!!!! Any pics or further spec of the car? I love my wagon but there will be others along who know more about the classics. All I can say is if the work was done by Hypertech then you have nothing to worry about. You can do a search for them and you'll see nothing but praise.....in fact there's a current thread running!!
  21. Just got mine from ebay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NGK-Spark-Plugs-x4-P...%3A1%7C294%3A50 That's compared to Scoobyparts where they're £13.46 each.
  22. No idea about leads but for plugs it's NGK PFR 7B for me. That was based on what Andy Forrest recommended prior to a remap etc.
