And if you're like me, get hold of a 2.2k ohm resistor to avoid getting your EGT warning light coming on!

Car is an MY02 STI and I'm told uprated front ARB and droplinks aren't necessary. I've already replaced the rear ARB and drop links with Whiteline items. Wasn't planning on roll centre adjustment because I'm aiming to keep close to the standard ride height.
One ALK on order then....
Look forward to comparing notes next week!
Cheers, Mark
There seems to be a couple of views on the arbs. I've had both fitted but others will say that you only need to
fitted an uprated rear and keep the front as standard.
So you just after the coilovers for the dampers? I'll probably only drop the car by another 10mm I think (another 10mm from where my Eibach springs are at the moment)
-
Good stuff new RO
Should be like a well oiled machine by now!
-
Ritchie I started off at 12 rear / 15 front which I found great if your heading up north on better roads the car drives like it's on rails.
But for the dirt tracks they call roads in the central belt I'm wound right back to 10 / 12
I've even went as soft as 8 / 10 for the roads around Bonnybridge
Where are you getting them fitted & set up?
Cheers Bobby.
Thought I might start on 10/12.
Will have them done by the time of the central meet anyway
-
Trying to decide if I should get an ALK fitted at the same time?
Why not? In for a penny etc.
Don't think it's complete until you have.....front rear droplinks/front/rear/both arbs/alk....and how about the roll centre adjustment/bump steer kit while you're there?

Getting them fitted and set up at Greers. They've done all my work and I'm happy to use them.
With them being about 1/2 mile from my house, it also makes them very handy

Hi folks,
Getting my BC coilovers fitted on Friday and wondered what users/previous users recommend as a
setting to start off with?
I think I remember reading the average seems to be about 12/14 from soft??
Is there much difference between the front and rear?
Thanks

Must've been a good flood!! I've recently fitted a front splitter and I've still to go over my first speed bumps and go into multi storey car parks!! I'll remember to be careful for floods as well!!!!
As far as I know, Kilcreggan isn't that big is it? Do you know the Stewart family? More so, Chris Stewart?
Oh.....good looking new car there

Hi,
Can't speak for the turbo but when it comes to other mods, you're still looking at the same ones as people
have stated in your other posts.
-
All that's done is the back cat is out and have a sport cat down pipe, I'm just going to try and get the parts together over the next few months, but as I said I am a novice so any info helps
Yeah, that's what I did. Took my time and sourced the parts.
You can't go wrong if you go with Andy F's guide
Level 1 260-280 bhp
Full Decat or Sportscat exhaust from turbo back 2.5 or 3” bore
Ecutek Custom ECU recalibration (similar to PPP)
Twin boost set up for high/low power switchable in-car
Walbro 255 l/hr uprated fuel pump
K+N panel filter
Level 2 290-310 bhp
Full Decat or Sportscat exhaust from turbo back 2.5 or 3” bore.
Decat uppipe Pre turbo
Walbro 255 l/hr uprated fuel pump
K+N panel filter
Ecutek Custom ECU recalibration
Twin boost set up for high/low power switchable in-car
AFP 04-H custom ported hybrid turbo
High Flow multi spray fuel injectors 550cc (380cc as std)
Uprated turbo to intercooler 'Y' pipe
NGK PFR 7B uprated spark plugs
Level 2(a) 300-320 bhp
Substitute VF34/35 or TD05-16G turbo in place of AFP04H for additional 10-20bhp but with slightly later turbo spool up
Use that as a tick list. The 550cc injectors are also called pinks....due to the colour.
I picked up the spark plugs on ebay for a lot cheaper.
If you get an STI TMIC, try and get one that has the intercooler Y pipe unless you have PPP which I think it came with?
If I remember, you get the decatted up pipe because the cat can break up after upgrades (or something along those lines!!)
Happy hunting

Hi,
I take it you have seen or are going by this guide?
http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/58901.html
I've got a VF34 and love it.
Like Paul says, keep an eye on the for sale sections.
I got my VF34, pink injectors, sti tmic and bigger scoop from members on here when I was upgrading.
Beware of some 34's on ebay as I was told they weren't even proper VF34's!
With you wanting the 34, injectors etc....have you had anything else done yet?
STi tmic/uprated fuel pump/downpipe/up pipe etc?
-
Er....em......(goes off to check the Events section!).....I'm 'sure' that wasn't there earlier.
I'm just up off nights....does that count
-
Thought I'd bump this back up for the Glasgow regulars who still have to vote and it's only a week until
our usual meet night.
Even though it's majority rule, is this the first test of our new RO's decision making since coming to power!
Do we stay to make sure we concentrate on Santa Cruise???
If we're sticking to the tried and tested formula, are we just not getting forms etc?
-
wanna upgrade everything on it
had it up on the ramps at the weekdend and its looking a wee bit scabby lol
Good excuse
So, what you going for?
arb's, anti lift kit, droplinks....everything??
-
Is it OEM stuff or aftermarket?
If it's aftermarket then most people go with Whiteline.
Send a PM to Cusco Kid (aka Geo) who will see what he can do for you
Online you have Scoobyparts, Scoobyworld..ebay!
-
Majority rules so please choose.
Keep the same

One had flipped over Richie, bad crash that un. Thursday night at around 4am I passed a truck and a Police X5 on there side just passed diversion on the M8 WestBound. What happened there Rich!?
Hadn't heard but I'll try and find out.
-
blimey.
Took a very easy trip to Linwood (I was in the Scenic though!). Lots of flooding on the roads.
Yesterday afternoon we headed over to the west end and saw a couple of smashes.
One on the M8 at the exit towards the clyde tunnel (coming from the airport) where one car was
in lane 3 and the other 2 were on the hard shoulder.
And then within a couple of hundred yards from the clyde tunnel, one car was on my side, I saw damage to the
central reservation and another car on the other side.
Either it was a coincidence that both had crashed on opposite sides of the road or one had flipped over!

I never thought I was a fan of white scoobies but really liked the black/white mix you had on your old one.
Loving the new one as well.
Did it already come with the front grilles etc?
-

Hello and welcome to the forum.
There's a guide somewhere for putting up pics etc.
Check out the Events section for meets. The Glasgow one is the first Thurs of every month at
The Harvester in Hillington. Meet at 7pm for 7.30pm.

Congrats to the new guys and job well done to the old

I'd either hang on and keep an eye on this forum and scoobynet etc so you might feel better about getting
a genuine vf34/35 etc.
Otherwise, be prepared to spend a bit more money and buy one from somewhere reputable like Andy Forrest etc etc.
You could also try breakers yards.
