  1. They look mint mate! :)

don't spose you know the paint code do you? :rotfl:

I don't mate, sorry. I'm sure I could find out though. Thought the colour was a Gisalo something but

looking at Alfa cods on t'internet, I can't see that :P

    Looks much better!

How much were they to get done if you don't mind me asking?

    Cheers,

    Rab

£240 cash. Might seem a lot but I thought about paying something like £40 a wheel for powder

coating and thought the extra was worth it. Knew I wouldn't be getting a quick one coat from Jim.

    They look good B)

I had mine powder coated gloss black and love how they look against the silver :D

It does look good, doesn't it B)

Looking braw Richie B) just need to lower it now :)B):D

Mmm, you may have a point there Gus!!! More mods!!! :P;)

looks superb Richie,i didnt realise how low your wagon sits at the front!.....you must get a few scary,'will i still have a front splitter' moments then.

Coilovers obviously helped but the splitter fills the gap nicely :) . Just plan ahead for any journeys!!!

Did have an issue when I first put it on with The Boss saying, 'If I want to go to Braehead (ie multi storey)

    then I'll go!!!!' :o

Thankfully that hasn't happened. It's been scraped a few times but a coating of silicone spray brings it back nicely.

    HT Autos £99 :)

Just need to get some anodised wheel nuts to finish off I think.

  2. Hi folks,

A wee while ago I posted up about going for a new wheel colour and if I should got with paint or powder

    coating.

In the end I went to speak with Jim Biggam at

    JB Coachworks

    54 Well St

    Paisley

    0141 842 1465

Jim has done some top notch work for me in the past and the choice of paint colours was endless.

I knew I wanted the wheels darker than standard so we ended up with an Alfa Romeo colour.

Here are the obligatory pics

    Before: standard wheels

    After:

And yes, I haven't changed the date/time on my camera ;)

  3. Cheers Richie

As I said before I'm not after much ..40/50bhp/lbs ft would do me fine..anything's better lol! Being an old fart my only trouble is I dont want any more exhaust noise ..I had a straight thro centre and TSL backbox but put the Prodrive zorst and OEM centre back on ..if I decat/sports cat it'll be even louder.. hell I'd go silent if I could ..stealth is good IMO B) .. hence me asking if I could keep my setup ..would add a better Panel Filter if it was necessary

I've kept the Prodrive backbox with the sports cat and centre section from Meercat. It is louder

than it was before but not much. More of a rumble/burble I think.....which is a good thing ;)

It's a tough one because to get a wee bit more oomph, the obvious place to start is with the car's

breathing....which may in turn increase the noise. You can go to the likes of Meercat and C&C

who can tailor your exhaust to your needs.

  4. Hi mate,

As Seafar says, have a look at Andy's site and you can't go wrong.

I've got an 05 WRX wagon as well. It had the PPP on it when I got it.

I had asked Andy about a remap without getting anything done and if I remember

    there wouldn't be huge gains.

Think it would drive better though.

You can keep standard engine components up to a certain point.

    I'm at 334bhp/335lbft with standard internals/clutch/gearbox.

If you're spending £500 on a remap, it would be worth your while in saving a bit more

and either get a full decat/sportscat/uppipe/downpipe etc for a better gain.

I waited til I had the bits together and I'm at Stage 3a now.

I believe the Subaru ECU is more than capable up to the big power gains.

I'm not technically minded so someone better will no doubt be along soon

  5. Yea mate thats me . Mystery machin3. I'll keep ma peepers peeled for you around the valley.

Do all impreza drivers wave to each other like bikers do ?

Yes mate, there is the 'scooby wave' :(

but don't be too disappointed if you get ignored and funny looks :)

  6. Far from sussing you guys out :)

Alan has sortid me out with some parts and colin will be doing the timing belt for me. Its supposed to be chipped and mapped by Grahame Goodridge????? no receipts

so I'll get colin to give it the once over.

I imagine that'll be Graham Goode. He's down south somewhere.

Not sure how much he does for Scoobies but he done some GGR (racing) packs for the ST or RS I think.

I'll look out for you as I'm in Glengarnock.

Have you been on Scoobynet as well? There's a current 'where in scotland are you from' and there's

someone else from Beith on there.

  7. Hello and welcome. I see you joined mid Feb....you been hiding away, sussing us out :)

Is the car going to Greers? (based on your username :( )

    Any mods so far?

  8. Thanks for that Phil, quite interesting. Im due down at Andy soon too. Which turbo to attach is my current problem...

Bob, I was planning to email the man himself tonight, I just wanted everyone else's views too.

My figures are similar to Fraser's with 334/335. Same mods apart from a VF34.

  9. My car is a MY05 PPP and when Andy remapped it, I paid full whack.

I know of people who have gone along for a map to be told by Andy it's already been

done so I'm guessing he would have told me if there was a licence already.

  10. Hi folks,

just looking for someone to answer a query for me?

I was wondering what the history of the sti wagon was?

I've only ever seen them in classic form but in the

Buchanan galleries car park yesterday I saw a blob eye

one that looked likeit was in WR1 blue?

I know someone could've just put an sti grille on the car

but couldn't remember seeing them in that colour either.

Private reg so don't know the exact year.

    Cheers

  11. Well, a nice surprise today.

My renewal with Keith Michaels is due at the start of April.

Over the last couple of years it had been £450 and then after doing a lot

of mods it had gone up by about 5% to just under £500.

So, nice to see my new policy through at £430 B)

Had tried A Plan who came back at £650!

  12. Hi mate,

Not sure about the rest of Ayrshire but you have Greers in Glengarnock.

They've done a lot of work for quite a few forum users.

Greers can do the geometry...by hand or you have Duskview garage in Barrmill

who have the 4 wheel laser alingnment kit.

I think geometry was about £40-£50 ish last time I had it done (although I went through

    to Progrip).

Fitting the ALK shouldn't take too long. I imagine within an hours charge.

  13. Our other car is a Grand Scenic. Good for the purpose.

It's a 7 seater with the 2 extra seats in the boot but I think I'd

only be using them for short journeys where there's no alternative.

Wouldn't like to take a rear shunt with anyone in the back.

Has loads of room. Very easy access and the rear seats can all go down

individually and lay pretty flat. You also have drawers under the front

seats and wee cuby holes on the floor at the feet of offside/nearside

    front and back seats.

Great for storing the wee ones dvd collection!!!

Downsides....well, it may not be the most powerful etc but it certainly does

    the job.
