  1. Anyways, I would have took on anything, especially performance cars to both see and hear them go,

I think this could be true. Had it a couple of times on the M8 when I'm casually going past an Astra/Fiesta etc and

they start speeding up again until I get annoyed enough to gun it down the road..........and have the wife shout at me

  2. heres an old thread of mine showing my prosport gauges. I actually spoke with the owner of prosport when i was in Vegas a few years ago and got mine through him with the plates and t piece for the temp sensor (so much easier). Bought the pod from ebay and drilled the hole for the LED alarm.

Cheers Noel. Yeah, your thread was one of the ones I had read.

Going by your thread, it seemd straightforward enough......are you reading this Stewart

I'm sure I'd read some people saying you didn't need the sandwich plate or that it can be a bad idea??

Apart from buying from America, the only places I seem to have found were ebay or Scoobyparts or Xyberautos in Singapore. Apparently there are no issues with their delivery etc and they're cheaper than the UK.

With regards to pods, I think there was a Zero Sports one that kept the clock, although pretty dear.

The scoobyparts one had the hole for the alarm LED.

  3. Hi folks,

I believe from previous posts, some people have used Prosport gauges (can't afford Defis!)

and they seem to be fine.

Looking at getting boost/oil temp/oil pressure.

Waiting to find out if I've missed out on a group buy over on scoobynet where they're getting them

via Xyberautos. I think with 15% discount, the 3 gauges should come in about £97.

What you have guys done with regards the centre pod?

Looking on ebay there are ones going for about £50 but this one

    http://www.scoobyparts.co.uk/acatalog/copy..._-_NEW_AGE.html

seems to be the only one I can find that keeps the alarm LED etc.

I believe you can get one that keeps the clock....but that's not an issue.

    Also.......sandwich plate........yes/no?

    What does it do?

    Many thanks,

    Richie

  4. looks like i am missing the meet again

was over in mull for last meet and maybe north for 2 weeks again starting 1st nov

Cheers Neil.....putting a smiley after saying you'll miss the meet!!!!

Is that what you really think of us!!!! :D or can your diesel hawns not type or use a mouse!!!

  5. So they're still doing that group buy on SNet, I got mine from there also but that was months ago! Did it fit straight on or did you have to play a bit with the size of the screw holes (should I ask Stewartyboy ;) ), I almost burst it I think when I changed mine around, but think made for a neater/tighter fit especially at the front middle where the shape changes.

Managed to squeeze in the group buy on the last day. From my supervisory role, there didn't seem to be any problems . Stewart drilled a couple of holes to tighten the fitting up a bit.

The grilles just popped in as well.

  6. Hi folks,

Well, after a good few comments on the fact that my wagon needed a splitter, my arm was twisted

    into getting one.

Got an HT Autos number via a Snet group buy.

Also got the Zun Sport upper and lower mesh grille set in black.

A big thanks to Stewartyboy for fitting them tonight as I'm pretty much incapable of doing anything

    like that myself!!!

    Cheers bud ;)

Personally, I think it looks good.

Now looking forward to the end of the month when I'll be able to get my BC coilovers fitted and drop the ride

height a wee bit further than the Eibachs currently do.

Oh....and my Godspeed 335mm front brake kit ;)

PS: Stewart.....nothing fell off on the way home!!! :D

    Some pics for you

  7. Hi mate,

Andy takes you out onto dual carriageway where you do a series of fairly hard accelerations upto 6k rpm

    from 2nd, 3rd or 4th gear etc.

So, I imagine an 8year old would be big enough to cope with these accelerations....and probably enjoy it!!!!

I know us big kids do!!! ;)

  8. well iv'e spent some serious time on call of duty 5, anyone else play this???

    Oh yes! ;)

Although a lot of my mates haven't been too keen and stuck with COD4.

Looking forward to Modern Warfare 2.

360 all the way for me.

  9. Hi,

You find the person you want to send a message to.

Go onto their profile and it gives you the option of a message or an e-mail.

If you send a message, they'll receive it the next time they log into SIDC.

A message window automatically pops up. As long as they've logged in.

  10. Hi,

    I've got an 05 wagon.

Got the Eibach springs (soon to be replaced with BC coilovers B) ) and

Whiteline front and rear arbs (22 or 24mm I think), whiteline droplinks and anti lift kit.

Send a PM to Cusco Kid aka Geo for all things whiteline :D

I had both arb's put on at once but some people only go for the rear. I can't really remember anything

being said with regards to the fact the car was a wagon.

  11. The Ht auto splitter will lower the front end by 30-50mm mate so you should be fine with the coilovers. :P

    Cheers.

Might have to do some work to level the top of my drive!

Had a look when the front wheels were over the lip and there doesn't seem to be a huge gap from the

ground to the side skirts! :)

  12. Rich,

I'm also waiting for my BC coilovers from the GB.

Have you had any quotes to get them fitted? So far Extreme in Whitburn have quoted £300 + vat for fitting incl a full geometry alignment.

Would appreciate any suggestions for other options....

    Cheers, Mark

Haven't looked myself mate but I think I read the Hypertech were fitting plus geometry for £250.

I've a couple of places near to me so I'll see when the time comes....which I wish was sooner!!! :)

  13. Ball joints and rod ends fail. Like said above mate, it gives you the full package when upgrading all parts i.e coilovers whiteline but its not a major must.

Forgot to ask about this last night. You know when and how I drive so wondered if I would really notice?

Or will I just be thinking 'well, it's only an extra £££'?

  14. Richie in my experience dealing with Whiteline is the Roll Centre Kit is much overlooked when lowering a car..

It's not essential by any stretch, it's a complimentary mod when lowering. Most people I find do this when they need a ball joint or track rod end.

If you've the budget to do it now then yes by all means. you won't regret fitting the kit.

Ok, cheers for the replies. Is what I read about ball joints going due to the coilovers something that will happen

    eventually?
