Cheers mate ,i will be paying my fine at the Sheriff Court in Airdrie.I will tell them that the Street name is wrong.
Kenny
Hi Kenny,
For yourself and anyone else that's interested, the only way the ticket will not go through is if
the amount and the court code are wrong I'm afraid.
That comes from a traffic Sgt.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
-
Cheers for the pics folks.
I don't know what kind of colour range you get with the powder coated ones but that's the
good thing about getting them painted. I have the full spectrum etc to choose from.
Think I'd stick to the one colour as I don't have anything else to of another colour to co-ordinate with.
-
Excellent. Cheers.
I'm liking that a lot

Was not traffic mate.....
Kenny
Really! Must have been traffic wannabes!!!
Most regular folk I know don't do that much traffic!
Best you can do is be as nice as possible and pass the attitude test.
You don't want traffic to do a complete vehicle check on you!
-
Shut it!
Graphite or gunmetal looks braw with silver
black is too much IMHO
That's what I was aiming for Gus.....if my car was silver and not crystal grey!
There must be a few shades difference in there!
-
Hi Kenny,
I know where you're coming from as I know a lot of traffic guys (if it was a traffic cop?)that
say that if they can read it or ANPR will be able to then they're not bothered
BUT
traffic is black and white really, legal or not, and if you know your reg or whatever isn't how it
should be then there's always the chance you might get someone who is bothered etc.
Traffic do traffic stuff so they're more likely to be on the lookout etc.

Hi folks,
Well, after recently weighing up the options of powder coating vs painting, my wheels
will be getting painted in the next few weeks.
As the car is crystal grey, I had only really thought of something a few shades darker...like
anthracite etc.
So, I'm putting it out to the forum for any other suggestions/personal experiences?
Black too dark?
Here's a photo if someone could possible do a photoshop job?
The photo is pre coilovers so excuse the ride height
and I've also now got a black front splitter
so there's more black to complement another colour etc.
Cheers

That's stunning.

I've recently had the Godspeed 330mm front conversion with DS2500 pads fitted and I've not been
really blown away by them.
Before that I just had the standard discs with DS2500 pads and they worked fine to be honest.
I don't track the car and don't really leave my braking til the last moment either but just fancied
bigger brakes and liked the look of bigger discs.
I was going to go for the K Sport set up which also have 330mm discs but with the 8 pot calipers
but didn't think I could justify spending the extra £250 or so.
£575 for the Godspeed set up and maybe it's just because I was expecting them to be so much
better over standard that I feel that I shouldn't have bothered.
Maybe the standard discs with uprated pads are better than I imagined.
I always felt that standard isn't the best etc.
Maybe I expected them to be so much better because of the cost when really that's just par for
the course?
So...the are ok but thinking back, I think I might've just added the extra for the K Sports onto
the good old credit card.
Oh.....one of my discs turned out to be 0.4mm too think so I had to get it skimmed. E-mailed
Ian Godney to tell him but never got a reply which was a bit annoying.

I've followed Andy's list and haven't anything different to his level 2a (where I put on a VF34).
Mapped to 334/335 on my wrx blob wagon

I believe you should decat because if it's got a cat in it, it's being more restrictive
than if there wasn't one.
Also, I think I've read something about the chance that the cat could break up and
you'll have bits going into your turbo....not good.
I think you can pick up cheapish STI ones that are decatted IIRC.
I got one from Meercat. £90 slip joint number. Basically a two piece, not connected (welded etc) but
once it warms up, a tight seal is formed.......or something a bit more technical than that!!!
-
I think this comes down to personal choice and maybe the compound of the tyre???
If you search tyre pressure, you should see a few threads about it.
I've read some running 36 all round. Think I'm about 33/32 at the moment. Don't really
change it much all year round.

You are a bit of a banker Neil

Has James got a new alter ego?
That was 'Ken Slalom's' first post....thanking for previous posts???
-
As above....I got Eibachs and the ALK fitted first but noticed a bigger difference once the droplinks and
arb's went on.
Some say to only get the rear arb done. Some say to get both.
Oh...moved from the Eibachs onto BC coilovers. Improved handling and nice and low

If you're looking to get around the 300bhp mark, I believe you'll need the 'pinks'/550cc.
-
its a 2.0 turbo
just trying to price what i need turbo intercooler injectors etc etc
thanks all
maxy
I got my VF34 for £400 (from a well shady forum member
). You can try ebay but it won't be a trusted
source.
Walbro 255l/hr fuel pump is about £70
Check to see if you need to uprate your panel filter
550cc injectors (also called pinks) - I got mine 2nd hand for a a good price
NGK PFR 7B uprated spark plugs - think I found a set on ebay for about £50
Uprated turbo to intercooler 'Y' pipe - if you get hold of an STI top mount intercooler, get one with the Y pipe.
You won't see any gains from the intercooler but it helps as a safety feature.

Hi mate,
Based on your last couple of posts about remaps etc, have you made a definite decision on what route
you're going?
Again, have a look at Andy Forrest's site and the guide there.
You should have a TD04 in your car but like Dunk said, it depends on what you're after.
I think you've mention about 300 horses? A lot of folk have put in a VF34/35 to get more than that
out of a WRX.
If you also search 'turbo' there will probably be loads of stuff that'll pop up
-
would be interested in a group buy remap if anyone is trying to set one up
These do crop up now and again but the saving (no disrespect to Andy) isn't that massive that made it
worthwhile for me to wait until it was all finalised etc.
I found it was easier just to go it alone.
-
So pretty much, at night take your front plate off. Most are on dual carriageways, and even if a passing policeman spots it missing you'll be going far too fast for them to catch up with you.
Isnt that right Rich...?
haha
...yes, but there are more of us than you and one quick radio message ahead........
but then again it's traffic.....leave that to the traffic lot!!!

These were mine painted
Nice colour bud. With mine being a wee bit darker, I thought anthracite etc would suit?
-
first clue is that he is older than me (I'm 29) and he drives a blue Subaru
You're only 29?!!!

Hi mate,
Good to see you here. It was me and Terzo Neil who were at the table with you and Brian.
If you remember Brian talking about the Scoobypedia, you'll find it at the top of the page.
Like most forums, the banter/busy times come and go but it's a good place for hints/tips/advice etc.
Cheers

That's the trouble with the different shades. Looking at the pictures already, I would've
said they are anthracite/gun metal?
Is there much difference? At least I think I should go more grey than black.
