Hah! So excited he couldnae keep it a secret LOL! Nice choice!!! Your right, it is something special! Good to see the SIDC workign the way it should! Thats a beauty! Definately better than the Evo
-
I like that! Good choice I'd say
-
That looks naked! (OOh! scooby porn!) Nice to hear no damage to teh paint! Decided what your going to replace them with yet?
-
Just found this clip of the escort rolling in front of us on stage 5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7JNT0hZzqU Guy that took the video was the long haired marshall that was standing next to us!

Welcome to the SIDC colin!! Nice looking car there! very clean! Good job! How does the impreza compare to the focus? I know a guy who changed a Electric ORange Focus ST for the Impreza and he confesses tha the impreza is a much more drivable animal... A lot cheaper on fuel as well apparently! (Not sure I believe the 2nd part)

Wouldn't mind someone havign a good look over her.. It's had a tough year with the exhaust changes, turbo tweaks and remap.. Would like to have someone who can lift her up and take a good look underneith and fiddle with things I can't normally reach using ramps, just to make sure all is well. Oh and stamp the book.. Not too fussed about and "official" dealer doing it.. Last service, just before I bought it, was done at a SunnyHill Motors themselves so the SUBARU servicing had already gone from the log (All previous stamps are T&C Aberdeen).. But some sort of stamp woudl be nice to proove servicing (It didn't get one in 07 )... At least Glenburgie would probably have a "Glenburgie Subaru" stamp Mostly interested in the brake system and refresh the fluids TBH... Few MOT's ago the brake pipes were apparently flagged up as beign corroded, so wouldn't mind having them looked at...
-
Nice! Sent them an email enquiring about costs e.t.c. Hopefully I'll try and hold off on the brake upgrade until after the service... Maybe new brake fluid will help the spongyness and lack of bite!
-
LOL! the responses here are starting to crack me up! I guess the safest thing is to try AWD... Only problem being is if I go through the hassle to take it down there I'd probably give in and end up upgrading the brakes.. Which means it'll cost a damn sight more than just a regular service... D'oh!

That's a great looking machine!! *drool* It's not got a gear knob though
-
That is utter class!!! Very professionally done! Well done to everyone that was involved with making that!

Funny enought that's where my brother took his Bug WRX for it's first service..! Sadly the place was turned to rubblea few months ago!! No kiddin!.. shame really as it was our only proper dealer in the area... I think they closed down completely rather than just moving location...

Hi guys, Keep talking about this but I've never got round to it yet. Car's probably due a service in the near future.. (havent had it done since I bought the car apart from self servicing which doesn't stamp the book ) Anyone reccomend who to go with in the north? Dicksons INv | Glenburgie | T&C in Aberdeen? or just my local guy that I get the MoT done at carKare, Elgin? (i trust him as a decent mechanic) It would be for the 60,000 mile service so hopefully not too expensive.. (even though it's only done 52,500 miles ) Ideally want somewhere that'll do it at a weekend so I don't have to drive some dodgy car for a day, wouldn't mind a shot of a MY08 if there was a proper local dealer Thanks,
-
As above... I've got an HT Auto's splitter on my bugeye.. Can't fault it.. Very similar to the official prodrive blobeye splitter at a fraction of the cost! Never had a problem with them.. (infact I think they made a few posts on here recently)

I need to check to see if I can get the Monday off... my work means the 1st of every month is busy and they prefer not to have peopel off.. I'll have to speak nicely to someone.. BTW - Travelodge at Penrith seems good option at the moment - £29 Will need to find somewhere for the Friday night too... D'oh!
-
Thanks for the advice! Thought it was a good question to ask as some may not have thought about it... Could make it all the way back up but with the long day on the saturday probably not sensible...
-
I know it's early days yet but what's the plan for the Sunday? Just curious as to what sort of time the days events are liekly to come to an end so I can judge whether or not to book accomidation for the Sunday night on the way back up to the north of Scotland..

Nice! That Vortex Generator really suits the car! Also the Andy.F. Sticker is a nice touch!

Aye saw that... Looks good like that... Kinda how mine looks after a week.. Dunno why I bother cleaning it.. Thanks for the comments guys n' gals! Getting carried away with it now.. Took the rear wing off in order to make one of the fixing holes bigger.. I get an annoying squeak every time I go over small bumps and it comes from the rear wing.. So tried making one of the holes slightly larger to stop it rubbing and put in some rubber rings to absord any vibration. Hopefully that'll stop the squeak.. With the wing off, it just made a good excuse to clean up the boot lid.. And boy did it need it! Before - Spot the mini scratches Note to self: fix the "k" on the website address After - Still a few slight scratches but much improved from the above! Ok now I'm just taking the p*** hah! if you look closely you can just see the spoiler lying in the background That bloody squeak had better be fixed now...

B***ER double post... 1st time that's happened to me... Mods please delete this post!

Well with loads of other folk on here cleaning their Scoobies last weekend thought I'd start on mine. I got myself one of the new Meguiars Machine Polishers last December and only recently have I been able to test it out! Two weeks ago I did the top of hte spoiler and last week I did the roof. Need to take the time and go over the rest of the car..Here's the results so far: Stuff used: Meguars Quick Clay PoorBoys SSR2 Blackfire Polish Blackfire Paint Protection Topped off with Colonite to bring out the richness (add to add hard wearing protection) Definately less cobweb marks than there was before and much clearer looking paint! (sorry about the lack of before photos, wasn't thinking) The Spoiler has been in bad need of this since It got painted last year.. Very impressed with how it's turned out so far.. Just need to get the Side-skirts and front splitter looking as shiny now Added a touch of Carbon Fibre to the B-Piller .. Ok it's not real carbon fibre but a vinyl that looks liek carbon fibre.. I'll see how long it lasts before water gets in behind it and it peels off. Few more random shiny shots of the car.. And by the time Monday comes roudn it will be minging again... Roll on Summer!

He hee.... Was going to ask you about that... Heading down for the start is a wee bit much, but I'd be more than happy to meet you guys at the middle point up here! Sure we can get a few more to come along if that was the case
-
No worries... We're a well behaved lot in this part of the country.. If anything what's probably happened is that there was a mess left somewhere and someone noticed the mess beign left behidn by peopel wearing Subaru Jackets and saw a photo of us and assumed we were the ones makign a mess. I'm more than happy to admit if I'm found wrong....
-
TBH - when I read your first post I thought it was a wind up and you were going to come up with some funny photo.. But as it seems more serious.. No It wasn't us... (as far as I know) To hell with waiting.. post the evidence up and let us know who is accusing us of this "pile of rubbish" I don't know any of us who left anything behind.. As stated above the only things were were really carryign was camera equipment.. As far as I know none of us were drinking from cans.. And if it was can's of alcohol, you really think we woudl spend the day drink driving!!! Don't want to cause a fuss over this but Not Guilty!! I've been goign to rallies since 2000 and I have noted that the spectators at the snowman tend to be more reckless than at other events personally with rally cars goign past at high speed and on the limit I'd want to be sober!.. Oh.. and in the off chance it was one of us, I'm sure we'd be only happy to confess... This certainly isn't the sort of impression the SIDC want's to give out!

He's not telling.... But he promises it's a scoob...
