  1. That's poor.. Although the images I saw still seem more concept art rather than real life images. Will wait until 5th april for proper pics. Having said that it's probably not too far of the mark. Just really hope they will make a saloon version... Even with that it just looks liek any other car on the road. Very poor! Impreza soon to become an "uncool" car? Seriously hope not! Yet another copy cat car using the same basic body shape/design? Seriously hope not. Despite the 4wd mechanics and boxer engine (assuming thei'll still exist) you really have to ask what's the point of owning one!! The new Evo Is the dogs danglies as far as looks go IMHO and I'm a self confessed scooby addict from very early on! Admittedly I wasn't 100% keen on the bugeye when it first came out. Too much like a toyota corrola at the front but looking aroudn it was an impreza. Absolutely loved the hawkeye when it first came out. But the 08 model. So far Yuk! But need to see real photos.
  2. That's a really nicely put together video there! Well Done!
  3. I've got a DivX .avi of it that I recorded off VHS (My digital TV recorder was screwed at the time).. But good video all the same.. Downside is that it's 114MB. I can make it available to you if you like? Ahh just re-read your post I can easy strip out the MP3 audio if that's all you want? "Mitsubishi Did you spill my pint?" - "Subaru, You outside now!" "Their both, Spoonbendingly, Hilluciogenically, law breakingly mad and absurd!" - God knows about spelling! [] LOL! Actually, anyone know what road(s) that clip was filmed on?
  4. Downpipe -> Cat Pipe (This one) -> Center Section -> Back box Pretty sure on the classics the cat pipe and center section was all one but on the standard new age it's seperate..
  5. Well it's certainly turned into a bigger project than expected. Got a PPP decat pipe from Spaceman on here (Cheers mate!) and still waiting on my PPP backbox to arrive, already got lost in the post once *sigh*. Anyway, got the car lifted up and had a look as what needed to be done. Fair amount of corrosion on the bolts as expected but then noticed something unusual. Someone’s obviously been here before me. One fo the bolts holding the cat pipe onto the downpipe doesn't look normal. From the looks of things someone has been lazy and just taken a piece of all-thread and welded a nut onto it instead of using a proper bolt. Looks like it's also welded directly onto the downpipe which isn't good. Also on the other end of this "home made" bolt there is nothing! there's no nut a on the other end to hold it all together! Ok maybe it's fallen off but without a proper bolt in the first place it wouldn’t' surprise me if there never was one. Anyway, the decat looks like it's going to need a bit more thought. Assuming I can get the other bolts off the gaskets are probably all screwed so will need to find a set of them from somewhere. Also with that bolt probably welded in place getting the cat pip off is gonna be a sod as it wont just slot out of position. Will have to remove most if not all of the exhaust section just to get it out then again to put it back together. Grrr! Going to wait until the backbox arrives before tackling it. If it's all gonna have to come off anyway. Ok I know the car has had a few owners before me but this certainly looks like a bodged job! I know the vehicle was serviced at T&C in aberdeen but I'd be shocked if they were the ones to do this work and NOT put in a proper fixing bolt! Anyhoo, rant over for now. Just goes to show that the simplest of things often turn out to be much bigger projects than first thought.. More peed off with the bodged job under the car than I am about not getting the decat fitted at the moment... Question is, is it worth trying to remove the offending bolt or should I just leave it in and stick a nut on the end of it this time..
  6. Sounds about Right. For the WRX it seems to be Prodrive Backbox, Decat Pipe, Tubo/Intercooler Y-Pipe and mapped ECU http://www.performancesubaru.co.uk/product...id=87&cat=5 And for the STi - As above but with Fuel Pump and Sports cat downpipe. http://www.performancesubaru.co.uk/product...id=96&cat=5 I've recently managed to source the WRX PPP bits seperately, apart from the ECU for just under £200 If I can't get an ECU for peanuts over the coming months will probably just go for a remap.
  7. Or try sticking the rear fog's on while acellerating hard!!! Tryign to fool them into thinking your braking.. . o O (Note I never suggested doing this!!! it's all in your imagination) []
  8. I must admit, I share the comments above. From the very point when I first wanted to own an impreza I made a decision to go and do an Advanced Driving course first. Knowing full well how powerful these cars are. Not to mention young driver in powerful car usually means racing around showing off.. But not for me.. Never raced anyone, no intentions of it and never deliberately going well beyond the speed limits. I'm all for drivers enjoying themselves on the road but there are rules to abide by.. Those rules are not to dull down the experience but rather to keep us safe either from ourselves or more importantly other drivers. Sure you may be the safest driver on the road but say you are driving home one night on a B road at a safe speed only to turn the corner and find a couple of corsa's racing side by side on the road at 90mph heading straight towards your precious scooby!!! Personally I don't see the fun in that... Thankfully it's stopped now but I live prety much in the middle of knowwhere at the end of what is nearly a 1 mile straight section of B-Road and for a few weeks late on at night there would be "young dude's" pulling up at the gate, turning round, lining up and havign a race down the road screaming their pistons out of their cylinders. Do I think this is cool No! Infact I was just waiting for an accident so I knew when to dial for the emergency services... U wanna race? Find a race track... Sadly that's something we are lacking here in the north of scotland *sigh* possibly one of the contributing reasons as to why there's so many young driver being killed around here! Ok I've had my say.. Rant over...[]
  9. yeah saw that one.. Quite a welcoming change from the tyre smoking hilarity of TopGear.. (Don't get me wrong I love TopGear) Will see how the next few episodes pan out but a thumbs up for a 'sensible' motoring show & it's Scottish..[Y] How about trying to get a Scottish Scooby feature []
  10. Genuinely interested in this thing: eBay link Ever since I saw that video clip on the Subaru Impreza DVD a few years back with the 22B round the ring with a HUD I just loved the idea. (Long before BMW stuck it on the M6) Anyone got one? How easy are they to install? Any other general feelings about such a device?
  11. Oooh! Yeah would like one of those! as cheap as possible though not bothered if unpainted. That and a rear diffuser. And maybe even those side grlle panels in red.. Give the front a more agressive look. Ahh hell why not the entire accessories catalog! LOL!
  12. Tidied up the list a bit... Yep I was bored.. The list autonumbers itself! Should make it easier to update.. 13. Usually getting around 250 just now. First tank lasted 320! Woot! But then I was being careful and it included a 5hr drive up to Brora and back. But hey I like challenge!
  14. Ahh ok.. I use Mozilla Firefox not Internet Explorer and firefox doesn't show dead images so didn't seen any cross. Still, learnt something new thanks!
  15. Yeah it would have been.. But sunnyhill dont have a photo of the car on their site. Found a photo on autotrader site this evening and yep I probably would have spotted those details.. Actaully that now seems maybe a little pricy even for a WRX. Not over the top though..
  16. Ahh.. learn something new everyday.. Didn't realise STi wasn't in red. Hmnn Oh well.. Probably explains why there's not many of them around.. . o O (Shame on sunnyhill for not knowing their facts, & me for not knowing better [:$] )

  18. Does seem a litlte pricy IMO.. I remember when I was looking for a scooby (most of last year) Brian Downie had some nice ones but I always felt they were way over priced. They had a My99 Royal Silver 2000 Trubo with about 50k miles going for 9k-10k Yeouch! The Ideal car I was looking for but too much to ask.. Could get New age WRX's for much less than that. (Which I did) In comparison, Sunnyhill motors (http://www.sunnyhillmotors.co.uk) just up the road a bit has a 2004 STi 25kmiles £12.995. In Red. That's where I ended up getting my bugeye WRX from.. P.s. No I'm not on any sort of commision [8-|]
